  1. The T-rex sounds like an odd choice for TLG to make considering how there is a whole dino theme going. We could have used the T-rex in another year. Needs more robots.
  2. If it is a water theme, I will be very happy that I will not have to spend on HF for half a year. Yay! (again).
  3. I don't get how you took that conclusion that easily.
  4. The whole purpose of Hobbies is to distract yourself from reality. No matter if it is car modding, computer games or LEGO. Unless of course, you turn the hobby in question into your work, that would make it no longer a way to escape from work. But as a guy who turned his main hobby into his work, I tell you, it is good to have hobbies.
  5. It would be creepy if my mom dressed like that.
  6. Why not? If it wasn't for the stuff leaked at that Chinese plant, we would really have no information about them and we are in late August already.
  7. Hehe, Swartchz being into blue girls has some... implications that remind me of a certain Seinfield episode.
  8. He means he used to think so but is now convinced otherwise.
  9. Why couldn't they be time traveling cavemen?
  10. Definitely superior to me to the stuff between 1995 and 2000. It is not like much happened back then. We have the Exploriens which weren't really LEGO's best, even though I loved them back in the day and got plenty of their stuff, including the large ship. Then we have UFO, I think the new UFO designs are much better because they use less ultra large bricks. Then we end up with Life on Mars, a couple of great mechs but otherwise not very well done and the Alien minifigs weren't really great. Of course, when you compare with other more classical eras, the comparison is harder. Mars Mission was hit or miss to me, some stuff is great, like this baby: But they also have this: Which doesn't make much sense. And finally, when you compare this: With this: Alien conquest tends to look better. But then you have to wonder if the color scheme choice for the humans was well-thought. I think if they were grayer they would look more like military tech and be sexier. Too bad.
  11. I don't think that's the case. Of the pictures I've seen, they used the CM 6 stand to stand, and they seemed slightly taller than minifigures, perhaps even the same size if you consider that maybe the hair was adding height. But I would really not think smaller.
  12. The street skater is fine, I just got too many of them. Thanks blind packaging! Did it?
  13. There was no Alien in series 4. ^ ^
  14. The snake tails are most likely genuine as they come from a site that leaked other things and was shut down by TLG.
  15. Series 1: The scuba diver. We have had plenty of guys like him with the exact same accessories before. Series 2: Life guard. Swim suit doesn't really work because the yellow printing stops. If she was yellow with red print it would have worked better. Series 3: The pilot, if it wasn't for the face it would be useless. Even with the face, you can get something better in the next series with the gnome. Series 4: Definitely the Ice Skater and the Werewolf. They are really the only ones I would have avoided getting, whereas the others I really wouldn't mind getting duplicates of. The design of the Ice Skater just doesn't work, the werewolf is way too dark so you cannot really notice what it is. Series 5: The dancer which is just a clone of the singer which wasn't a big deal anyway.
  16. I'd rather not apply the stickers as it gives me the chance to resell or trade to anyone who actually likes them (fools). Anyway, I think the main reason printing is less expensive than stickers is the development cost of printing stuff on bricks as it requires whole more machinery and stuff. Applying stickers sounds as hard.
  17. I was giving it a serious consideration, then I saw the price. Uh, hope to find it in ultra discounted state.
  18. I think the height of the slope used as half dress cannot go lower, because then the actual slope would get a little unrealistic angle, or TLG would have to make the base 1.5 studs wide, which wouldn't be very comparitble, I think.
  19. For 18.50 USD. Opened but the pieces had that specific shine new pieces have and some of the bags were still sealed. The only problem is that some parts were missing. The only ones I couldn't replace easily are the banana and one of the spiked wheels. I feel lucky, actually.
  20. The cars are supposed to split. I guess you could reinforce the connection if you want.
  21. Unless they saw high def versions of the pictures of the sets, rather than the usual small shot of the retailer's catalog, I don't think it is easy to predict the amount of pieces used in a dinosaur. Atlantis' monsters were pretty smooth and they are brick-built.
  22. It is not really news, you know. We never had an indication Atlantis would last more than 3 waves, and seeing the precedents and how the latest wave continued with the trend of having fewer sets and making the good guys change their color scheme (a usual sign of the end of a theme), it really seemed like the last wave. Now we can consider it confirmed because people with access to info about the 2012 wave are not mentioning Atlantis at all.
  23. BTW, the reports about Garmadon becoming good are all just from the speculators. I think they may have misread signals. I find it more likely Garmadon will help the ninjas, but only temporarily and stay evil and only do so because his son is a bigger danger. The villain helping the heroes fight a larger threat is a rather standard plot device.
  24. The story of a theme that began with ninjas fighting undead guys in vehicles got ridiculous.
  25. ^Uncalled for. Yeah. I have big hopes that this is a sequel to Pharaoh's quest. Like the old adventurer's dinosaur adventures.
