Damn it LEGO, I will have to spend my $$$ on that transforming jet. If only they included one of the cool snake people in them rather than the lame white one.

The villains get changed every 6 months. And as for the heroes, they vary a little. Hasbro gets away with using the same ONE character over and over for 10 years now. So, I don't think 6 years old have much trouble with it.

If you are going to attach a non-HF piece to a HF piece, the most likely outcome is that you will attach something from system. Specially in case of armor pieces. Only exceptions would be those titan pieces which seem designed to allow technic conenctions, but they are rare in comparison to the pieces that come with the heroes. Visual compatibility and rods instead of crosses. The hands themselves are a good example. A HF hand piece will look better on a system moc than a glatorian hand. Try white HF hands on Buzz lightyear. When I think of the glatorians I can only think of pieces that are so very detailed that only work with each other and are very hard to fit in system. On the other hand , the HF heroes seem to bring more and more system pieces with time. It started with the light sabers and some lances. Then exo force arms started appearing...

HF started a different new trend. Not only to become an independent building system but to be more system-compatible than technic compatible. I consider HF 1.0 to be Bionicle. Both in positive and negative ways. Rotor was the best Bionicle titan as it was really the last polish on all the evolution in titans. But the 1.0 Heroes and villains inherited way a lot of Bionicle's weaknesses, including the low quality joints from 2007+. I really hope "4.0" is not reusing old pieces. I have no reason to believe they are. It would be great to get the old masks adapted to the new heads. The 1.0 feet were never much of an issue, and it is very likely they will use the new socket on them, they fit well.

Well, regardless of anything, I prefer HF. The story was never my objective. But HF 2.0 are definitely a superior toy. The new system is great and the pieces have amazing quality, they just don't break. It got ridiculous with Bionicle (including the first HF wave) how bad the plastic looks in some pieces and how incredibly easy it is for joints to break, it is not even funny. Of all the HF 1.0 heroes I bought, everyone has at least one broken joint, and we didn't really get to use them that much. And that's something they inherited from Bionicle , because Glatorians and mystika were just as resistant.

Bionicle was to sell the toy... They continued releasing stories just so there is less backslash against HF.

CM and NinjaGo sell like crazy, so I wouldn't blame them.

He plays with LEGO. He doesn't. BANG!

Lol. Where are the feathers? Minifigs are not very accurate.

The confidential labels are all over the pics :/ . However, linking to pages containing those images is supposedly fine. What we can't do is hotlink the confidential images (link directly to them).

Compare the 1.0 heroes with the 4.0 heroes and for most the only thing in similar is the mask. I think everything is a possibility and things like reapa really suggest me a meltdown-corroder combo. Plus this is a prison breakout arc, so I'd say that even if the villains weren't mutations of previous guys they would still have to participate in the story somehow.

I like how every >= 2.0 season included a villain with a different set of transparent goodness. First nitroblast, then waspix, then reapa. All pretty vital sets to get. I hope the fish villain is indication that there will never, ever be a water theme.

Yeah... It is not like system and Creator creatures had completely different intended audiences, design styles and guidelines...

Many kids wouldn't get to buy any hero if there were only large heroes, or any villain if there were only large villains. I like this idea.
-
They are supposed to look bulky and blocky. The idea is to have buildable versions of the heroes. They could go the megabloks way and just make action figures that have detachable heads and would look accurate. But they tried to make it about construction toys over anything.

I just threw all my canisters to a PET recycling container today. When you don't intend to use them, they are really cruel space crowders. I think that TLG is doing the environment a favor here. I am also very sure there is a zipper in the new containers. They are bags. Still plastic bags but at least more useful. It also seems that it would be easy to get rid of the "box art" in case you want to use the bags for something else. At worst, you will be able to keep the bags using less space. What I don't like is that all the characters but Phantom use the new packaging. I liked boxed villains. I never thought the canisters had stack-ability. The 1.0-3.0 canisters surely can't be stacked unless you do it horizontally, but the curved surface is also difficult. Glatorian canisters were stackable. But that's not true for glatorian legends or mystica/phantoka canisters.

LEGO can make brick-built sharks that look like sharks. So the standard about creature-based themes has been raised. Specially in the case of a tall creature like the T-rex. A T-rex with 5 specialized bricks is really more of an action figure than something we should do at LEGO. They could always use a specialized brick for the head while keeping a brick-built body and actual teeth. Hey , the vehicles would look a lot less blocky if TLG used only specialized and 4 wheels. That is not a good reason to do it...

They scare you because they delete images that are illegal to distribute?

I have serious doubts if my retailers will bring these. Cause I don't think they ever brought Belvile or Paradisa.
-
You can have opinions I guess. Just like I can. I like that design. I don't care about accurate sizes at all. The objective of those planet sets is to offer cute little ships and a minifig so that you don't get to buy the awfully overrated and overpriced stuff released a thousand of times.

Yay, the tie interceptor is a winner.

I am quite sure those system pieces will stay and are even intended. Note how ever since HF 2.0, the system bricks have increased. 2.0 Seemed to me like an attempt to move from technic towards system in Hero Factory. One of the ways that can be seen is by replacing cross sockets with rod sockets. In fact, ever since the beginning of HF, they tried to use more smooth pieces which are more compatible with system in look. I think it only makes sense to further replace things like the technic canisters with system cyclinders. And these pieces clearly do not crash the design but complement it. Also, although Reapa could have used the 2.0 fire pieces, they prefered to use standard system large fire. Which tells me that there is an active intention towards this.

I didn't think the heroes use Glatorian heads. I was excited because I thought that they are remaking the masks in the new format and releasing the new heads in trans color. Though now that I think about it, there is no way to confirm or debunk this. --- Here's a theory: The villains are combinations of previous HF villains. Case in point: Phantom : Firelord + Nebula + Doctor Toxic Reapa: Meltdown + Corroder Splitface : Nitroblast + Thunder Thornrax: Waspix + Rotor Jawblade: RawJaw + Vapor. It would make sense since it seems like this is a prison break arc, so what about an accident causes the prisoners to fusion and unleash?
-
It should be moved. It is closer to Belvile than City and Belvile belongs to the special themes forum.

Classic Looking Masks CLASSIC LOOKING MASKS Why wouldn't they do this with the toa? Wow. This is great to be honest. Rocka and Furno are looking interesting. I have hopes for Evo to improve. The villains ... most of them are me. Phantom is quite like a skinny firelord. Jawblade's shape makes no sense. Splitface's concept is great , but I don't like the double-color piece and is otherwise just nitroblast. Thornaxxx and Toxic are GREAT for pieces though. I really welcome the ditching of canisters and how there are three big heroes and two small ones. Hopefully the "canisters" are actually strong bags. That would make them very useful and at least a ton better than canisters. Edit: If you notice, SplitFace is probably going to cost the same as the larger heroes. And the other villains sans Phantom will cost the same as the smaller heroes.
