  1. For me, my must haves are: Surfer: I don't have any, the shark print is great, the hair useful for other figs, and the wetsuit looks like it could easily be repurposed for something sci-fi. Female chef: I love the hair+toque combo, the whisk is a nice touch, and her facial expression looks unique enough. Also, dat pie Gladiator: It's always good to have multiple bare-chested variants for historical MOCs, and the hair and face look good for other uses. Hoping he comes with a net accessory, even though it's not shown here. Battle Dwarf: I love the whole look of him, and the parts--hair, face, beard, print, weapon--will for sure find other uses in my collection. Rocket Kid: I am sure I can find a use for this, and it's really a superb design. Highwayman: I would like to see a pic (wouldn't we all!) but I'm pretty sure I'll need at least one. Some that I will maybe pick up are the Butterfly Girl, the Female Elf (need to see better pictures to decide), the Vet, the Retro Spaceman, and the Corn Suit Guy. I actually really like the mustache he has, but don't have much use for a corn suit (and I agree the two don't match). Thanks again @Itaria No Shintaku for the game!
  2. Fantastic review! It is great to see pics of these sets out in the wild already; your pictures show them better than what I have seen in official pics so far. I am looking forward to picking them up here when I am able. Thanks again!
  3. The Lego Batman Movie
  4. Ugh that awful music. I'm already not a fan of Taylor Swift but that song probably the least-musical thing she has ever done. Like, I want to watch the trailer again, but at the same time I really don't want to because of that song. However, the movie looks great, and the animation superb. I did a double-take at that gorgeous flying shot of Lloyd's dragon. Some of the jokes seemed a little contrived, though, but not enough to be off-putting. Here's to hoping that the next trailer is easier on the ears.
  5. My first thought is that a mech probably isn't the best transport for a harsh snowy environment! But it does look cool, and rocket-assisted mobility would definitely help in that terrain. The double-large leg studs offer a great clean look while still looking very "lego". My favorite detail, though, is that the claws and the chainsaws are retractable without having to detach any parts. That is an ingenious design.
  6. I'm not really looking forward to the new Beauty and the Beast. Not at all, really. The cartoon is one of my favorites from when I was a child (and still holds up pretty well today), but I'm not here to scream that "they're ruining my childhood" or other nonsense like that. Its just that this version seems...unnecessary. I get the feeling they are trying--even content--to tell the exact same story in the exact same way. If it were clear that they were going a new direction with it or making it something we haven't seen before, I might be able to muster more enthusiasm; as is, however, it feels like they are simply looking to cash a nostalgia check. Not that the movie won't likely be well done, but to this point it just doesn't do much to inspire me. Who knows, though? Maybe I will be wrong. I'll end up seeing it in theaters regardless: the release date is close to my wife's birthday, and while the marketing hasn't worked on me, she was sold on it since day 1. Well played, Disney; well played.
  7. I am looking forward to Valerian very much...although I expect it will take several viewings to feel like I have actually seen it.
  8. wow! This was not at all what I expected to see when I opened this topic! I see some amazing NPU and the monochrome color scheme works everywhere. Halfway to Heaven is put together beautifully, but Octafruit's impressive geometry keeps me looking at it again and again.
  9. A couple of the goblins are already showing up on eBay...
  10. The African Queen (I had never seen it before). It is kinda slow like a lot of movies from that era, but definitely enjoyable.
  11. Those are Monthly Mini-Builds, not the Pick-a-Model. The PAM for now is a small white tractor/excavator. I made a return trip to my local store last Friday but forgot to take a picture of it.
  12. Hmmm, I guess so. I always considered India to be its own thing, sort of how Russia doesn't spring to mind as "Asian" either. Everyone please forgive my ethnogeographical oversight.
  13. Corn guy looks pretty good. I wonder if he will come with an accessory? Although it seems rare for costumed figures... I found myself with a lot of time at work today, waiting for things to get fixed, so I got more involved in the clues, assuming Romanian to be the language Itaria ran Google through. 1: V for (medic) veterinar-- Veterinarian, someone who has do with animals--or ventriloc--Ventriloquist--since the 80s was a big heyday for puppet shows, like the Muppet show, Lamb Chops, Alf etc? Seems like it could make the 80's great again. 2. EF for Elf Fantazie--a female elf minifig, a girl with a counterpart in the first 10 waves. 3. H for haiduc--an outlaw, the silhouette guy, not a pirate. I know I said I didn't think it was him, but since @JGuy suggested this word I realized it was probably right, especially since I have heard this word before. 4. C for concesionar--concessionaire, or a guy who sells concessions (i.e. Hot Dog Vendor) Concessionaire has other meanings, too, but is consistent with a food vendor. Another possibility is cosmonaut--spaceman, a character not always on planet Earth. There doesn't seem to be much sci-fi in this series yet, and it would suggest a more CS kind of spaceman than the recent astronaut. 5. A (C) for ??? I'm not sold on this being an Australian with a Kangaroo, but I don't have any other suggestions, either. 6. GR for gnom razboinic--dwarf warrior. Sometimes Google spits out pitic for dwarf, but one iteration I did it gave me gnom. I'm guessing Itaria meant this as the rehash character from someone in series 1-5 who you shouldn't mess with. Although he does say that clue was someone born before 500 AD, so who knows? I think the letter clue is right even if the other clue is mismatched. 7. AR for ??? No clue. I'll keep thinking. 8. TiCdR for Rocket Suit Man, as others have said. He is the random object guy whose price will skyrocket. Why not. 9. Y for Yoghin. A guru. This could fit in with the specific nationality while not being Asian, since he would be Indian. 10. S for ??? Not sure yet. 11. IdD for instructor de dans--a girl, related to series 5 and 15. 12. TiCdP for Corn suit guy, like others have said, the food costume guy.
  14. Well if corn cob guy is confirmed by Itaria, I think that means that we can safely assume he is the "TiCdP", probably in Italian. (Although I just checked, and Romanian lines up, too, if you put "guy in corn costume" ) It's good to know the toreador isn't one of them--not because it wouldn't have been a great figure, but because at least now we know, right?
  15. I also see epaulettes in the silhouette, which looks to me very much like a toreador, since it follows the shape of the shoulder pads: However their is something on the neck, too; a moustache piece, perhaps? It could be a small collar, which makes sense if it is an Old World explorer like Marco Polo. Personally, I doubt its a highwayman, but no matter what, it looks like a promising figure.
  16. It would match the silhouette pretty well, but the silhouette clue and the nationality clue were separate in Itaria's list. TV remote guy could be on the list, and fits the clue "Tipo de Costume de Remoto", assuming that Italian uses the word by itself (this happens in Portuguese, so its possible Italian does as well). I don't see One-Man-Band guy fitting with Itaria's clues, nor does it seem likely. I mean, the number of accessories would be huge, let alone all of them being musical instruments. I will buy an army of them if it's true, though.
  17. I went today and saw most of the pieces that @BubbaFit45531 did, plus some other parts of interest: 1x2 brick, trans-clear 1x1 brick with two SNOT studs, sand green ; the other sand green parts that had been there last time I went (1x2 plate and 1x1 brick) were gone. 1x1 plate with tooth, white (also used as icicles); forgot to put any in my cup. 1x2 plate with SNOT 1x2, green; may be leftover from last year when they had them. various 2x4 bricks that they always put in the bottom row of bins, not much for unique colors though, as I recall. I didn't get much, just one small cup: The BAM station had some interesting bits, but not enough to convince me to spring for one.
  18. I also do this; a minifigure from the BAM is five pieces (legs, torso, head, hair, accessory), so any fifteen pieces count. Granted, $10 is pretty steep for only 15 pieces, but I've got some pretty useful/rare pieces this way. I probably could get them cheaper on BrickLink, but it's faster and more convenient to just grab them myself and have them in hand.
  19. I do it on mobile all the time. Find the image and copy the URL (hopefully you can find an image without the title in it ). When posting on mobile there should be an "insert other media" button, where you can insert from URL, where you just copy and paste. It's good to see this thread alive again!
  20. Nice!
  21. Hunt for the Wilderpeople. Parts of it are a little out there, or off the wall, but I enjoyed it immensely. It was great to see Sam Neill again, and I've written more Haiku the past few days while the "Ricky Baker" has been song stuck in my head.
  22. @VaderFan2187, just quoting a spam doesn't really count. Spam Poetry is when you, the community member, write a poem that is about/was inspired by the spam. For example, a Haiku: Broken body parts This spam says but all I see Is broken English.
  23. I just saw this on Brothers Brick and scrolled through the whole collection. Fantastic work, all of them. The Blackstar: Button Eyes one is probably one of my favorites, likely because that video creeps me out in a very Bowie way. The Labyrinth costumes are ace, too.
  24. I'm impressed by all the work you all have done figuring out Itaria's clues, and even more impressed that they all seem fairly plausible. **NB: I don't know any more about this series than you do.**
  25. I hadn't thought of that, but you're right, the time could be here for it to retire. Unless it has been an absolute success like Ninjago was/is (coming back from the brink of cancellation) I suppose it probably is due. What would succeed it though? A Friends-in-Space theme? Naturally I would love it if Elves continued (and introduced more characters, for better customization), but Sci-Fi could be a logical next step for a minidoll theme, and I'd be down with that, too.
