I hope to put out another Duplovia quest or two myself over the next year. I hope they don't interfere with your plans at all. Speaking of which, my next quest takes place in the midst of the city of Delfrin. I don't have nearly the pieces to properly show off Delfrin, so is there a builder who wouldn't mind assisting me?

I received Lachterson's full report as soon as he got back. No point in hearing it twice. General. Please, don't let me stop you. ...They had built a mine shaft leading into the Duplovian Castle. They were going to attack from there with Delfirn mercenaries. We were able to stop them, but the Archer and Uglrukh escaped. Do tell the king the supposed identity of this Archer. Lachterson? ...The Archer is none other than Jadec Marr. That's absurd. Yet it's true. Of course, Lachterson is expecting us to go on his word for all this. I know what I saw. And I'm sure you do. I, for one, am just not willing to openly accept what you've learned from terrorists renowned for their deception. General, are you attempting to accuse Lachterson? Of course not. I'm only surprised by how taken in he was by the mercenaries. By his own admission he came close to attacking the Duplovians. Which I regret immensely. Again, we have nothing but your word. I would never make a direct accusation against Lachterson, my lord. However, when your only other present witness is a mere miner I find it difficult to accept that Morcrass is suddenly active again, with such a force, after being silent for so long. Morcrass is a slippery one, but if he is active I can assure you we will find him quickly. Of course, Prince Doriar. I did not meant to imply anything otherwise. Now, Lachterson, is there anything else you wish to report? Do they always argue this much? Basically. So you are alive, after all. Where have you been all these years? Around. What about you, Princess? Surely you haven't been simply whiling away in a castle. What am I to do? Delfrin hasn't changed that much over the years. You act like this is the first time LEGO has done this. I can think of at least one other time LEGO has used this boat combination (there's a Viking set with a near-identical boat) and there's probably others. It looks completely fine. I'm not sure what the issue it?

So you've uncovered no further evidence of Morcrass' employer? No, but as Siercon mentioned, Dovanna is tracking the Archer to- Right, of course. Call him back. I'm sorry? Call Dovanna back. We need to be protecting Duplovia, not chasing a mercenary halfway across the High Kingdoms! With all due respect, the Archer may lead us to their base of operations. Who knows what we may uncover? And if this is all yet another false lead? If the Norghs are on their side, as well as several mercenary groups, anywhere could be a trap. For now we fortify. Prevent an attack like this from happening again. Duplovia shall be prepared for any invasion, by terrorists or otherwise. If Morcrass' men do manage to manipulate Delfrin, we will be ready. Have I made myself clear? No, sir, you have not. And why is that? All resources should be put into uncovering the true identity of the Employer. If they have the resources to sneak an assault force into the mines without your or one of the other nearby kings knowing, they are dangerous. Morcrass is a terrorist, and this Employer is something worse. They've manipulated the Norghs, who knows what forces they will sway next? My decision is final, Eyric Rone. Bomb-making, huh? I hear the Bonapartes have a division that makes heavy use of bombs. Don't have a lot of experience with it myself, I'm a soldier, not an engineer. If that's everything, we should head out. Of course. Farewell Lachterson, Bardrick, uh- Tim. Yes, Tim. I hope you'll be able to talk sense into King Aldruss. I can't promise nothing. But we'll do our best. That's all we can ask. The group leaves the mines, blinking at the new sunlight awaiting them. They split up as the three head off to Delfrin. The heroes and Duplovians continue forward to the walled city. Before long they are back in the King's Court. So you have returned in one piece! This is good to hear. So finally saw the movie. I can sort of feel the complaints about armoured elves, but I still feel the ones we got in Mirkwood were fine. We definitely are missing a Ravenhill set, though, with Bolg, Iron Hill dwarves, perhaps Alfrid and definitely more orcs. Beorn as a bear would be nice.

I'm admittedly surprised. Given what I've read here I went into the movie expecting it to be worse than the original DoS was, but personally this was the best of the trilogy. Sure it left out a few things, but nothing I felt was absolutely necessary for the plot. The emotions ran the highest they have in this trilogy, and the battle felt heavy enough to matter while still light enough to fit in with the rest of the Hobbit. I liked what they did with a lot of the characters, and all the acting was amazing. I will admit the battle seemed to slow a bit once Ravenhill was introduced - suddenly it was all about Thorin, Fili, Kili, Tauriel and Legolas instead of everyone down in Dale and Erebor. Still, I really enjoyed it, and felt it a fitting end to the Hobbit.

Siercon inputs the combo, and hesitates for a moment. Silence cuts through the air as he finishes the code. The lock opens with a click. Hushes breathes sound through the room. That nut-job was Jadec Marr? I'm... not a fan of that implication. If this Morcrass can recruit people of that ilk... we should go. Quickly. Agreed. Siercon, finish up with that crate and let's go. Inside Siercon finds 100 Gold, an Emerald and a note: The Employer has arranged for us to sneak into the mines undetected. He says that Prefect Rone has been suspicious, but everything is going fine. At best Rone will contact that Eubric merc society again. If he does, we'll have quite the test ready for them. Morcrass is getting the next phase of the plan ready, and I'll be heading there after I finish in the mines. It's going to be odd seeing her again after so long, but I'll do what I have to. Soon all of this will be over, and the new kingdom will be ready. As long as I get paid. -The Archer- 356 replies
