That paper is supposed to be put inside the cup, under the lid, but they tape it over when the cup is too full :D It contains some mandatory info like the 0-3 year warning about small parts, the CE label, name & address of the distributor/producer (Lego), etc. All the info that you also find written on the Lego sets boxes. I think that for any product sold in EU they have to include such info. Kind of useless, it is just legal stuff. I do not know if that kind of info is mandatory in US though.

On Thursday I went to Cologne (Köln) with my sister and her husband for watching (listening) to a music concert. As there is a Lego store there, it was a mandatory stop. It makes my 3rd store this year, after Lille and Paris. Luckily the guy at the counter didn't open it to add the paper, as I put parts in the stud of the cup Not a lot of smart packing, since I didn't take a lot of big parts. When putting plates together I knew that they would not be easy to take apart, luckily I have good nails. I tried to take a lot of 1x2 trans-clear & trans-black bricks, but there were taking much space compared to the 1x2 trans-clear plates. Also a few 1x1 trans-clear plates, but as they were mixed with trans-red and trans-yellow they were tedious to pick. In each "box" they mixed two or three brick colors: http://sphotos-h.ak....640830793_n.jpg (I just put the link since the pic is too big - it is me on the left) There was also a "box" of random mixed parts, most likely coming from sets parted out (reminding the grab bags that were found previously in USA stores). But searching in that one was taking a lot of time for not so many parts in the end. The most interesting being the smallest, going at the bottom. Slight off-topic: This time while I was filling the cup as there weren't many parts to stack my brother-in-law went playing with bricks at the desks were kids can build things. I made the name of his music group out of bricks. Then my sister made the group members with minifigs. Then he added music instruments (with pickaxes as guitars). The result: http://sphotos-d.ak....074767803_n.jpg

What will you do with these bike wheels? I saw them in the French stores, and wondered what could be their use (except for putting on bikes, which were not available)

Some that I found recently (so I added to my site, but I could mention them here too) From TV series "Guys with Kids", ep 1.12, some bricks on a table, not sure if these are real Lego: In "The Middle" in episode 4.09, Frankie (the mother) works in a store and tries to hide Christmas presents that she'll buy later, but these are found by a co-worker. Two Lego sets are involved; first 6913 then 6912: There were other previous Lego appearances in that series: http://bricks.inmovi.es/movie_1442464_The-Middle.html

http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=6044 there aren't that many in the "slope" category
-
Thanks for the identification. I only got three of these doors, and no baseplate since it was a windows/doors lot (blue slopes were from a separate lot). I'll see if I can find a way to use them without the garage plate (or maybe just try to get some day a plate on bricklink). There is a thin metal axle in them, is that the spring or is there an additional part? The 3-pane windows that I got here seem to be the newer type, with hollow stud and the short ledge.
-
I bought a lot of doors/windows on Ebay, amongst them there were three red things looking a little like doors, but I am not sure what they are: there is the Lego logo on one of the end studs. I didn't expect to have to post here some day, as usually I can identify what others post here I was lucky with that buy: amongst all these parts, http://i.imgur.com/EZ7rl8P.jpg I found two old black windows http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=7026 which seem to be quite valuable on Bricklink (most of the sellers ask more for one of these than what I paid for the whole lot, shipping included)

There was also a change in the pink colors, but as those were rare it does not concern many parts. In the 90s there was the Paradisia Pink. Later, other pink parts were produced (but that change occurred already long before 2004), close to that pink but not exactly the same one. Like for the greys, the old color is a little more yellowish. Here the main problem is that these two pinks are listed as only one color on Bricklink. Peeron however lists both separately, as it has a Parapink color (incorrectly matched to Bricklink's Light Pink, but I think that Bricklink made a change there afterwards).
-
Here is it: When seen from close it looks good (matching the bars that are in front of the bottom windows), but with less light and from a little further they are nearly not noticeable anymore. So I'll keep the gold ones.

Lego spill temporarily closes Interstate 79!
antp replied to eurotrash's topic in General LEGO Discussion
"no doubt giving drivers traumatic flashbacks to the last time they stepped on a Lego brick in bare feet." All these poor little Lego pieces I saw something similar but at a smaller scale one morning when going to work: in the street a few dozen Lego parts, most already damaged by passing cars. I didn't try to salvage some, as it was rather dangerous to go on the road picking parts... (even if it was in a city street and not a highway like in that article) Ditto. With a few luck, after that story is relayed everywhere, something will be organized to donate some Lego to the kid to replace the lost... That's the vehicle model http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodge_Durango -
The transparent windows were previously mentioned as a bad point, but for me the "empty" round windows above these is worse than windows with glass. So I just put gold lattice pane in these: That's what I did for other modular buildings too (but with black ones) I think it looks better with these gold lattice panes ( http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=30046 ), I wonder why Lego does not include them in their buildings. And also why they do not make a glass for that window Luckily gold & black lattice panes can be found for cheap on BL.

Indeed the 5561 has some similarities. I haven't found yet one at good price though. -

I'd like to find some more Magic Flash too to also change its colors (I only have one, in its original colors) , but it seems much more rare than the Rally Van. -

And more than one year later, I finally chosen colors for that 6th one; dark bluish gray & lime green : But in the meantime I got a 7th one, it will probably be dark red replacing the yellow, but I haven't decided the secondary color yet. Maybe I should also stop. But it is not really my fault if no-one else buys them when they appear on Ebay -
From time to time some appear on Ebay. I got one a few months ago for 100 € with box and instructions (+ 10 € for insured shipping), but no sticker at all. All parts are in very good state. I found a hi-res scan of the stickers, some day I should try to print them. I hesitated to buy it, but seeing its price on Bricklink I guess it was a good deal, even without the stickers. I was surprised to win that auction. Shortly after that another one appeared at 120 € with stickers but without box and missing a few trim parts (including some chromed ones), but anyway someone placed a higher bid than me that time.

I could try to contact them indeed. Or else some day I'll anyway get some in a Bricklink order, since I do not have tan jumper plates in my parts stock, I'll make the thing symmetrical at that time :D I find strange that "identical" parts from different production batch end up in one set.

According to Bricklink the set is supposed to contain 14 tan jumper plates with groove : http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3794b However, in my set I got 5 without groove and 9 with groove Do someone else encounter that? If at least it was an even number of each type I could make something symmetrical

Yes, that's worse than the commercial breaks
-
Just a guess: in other sets these very big plates are used only as baseplates and not in the middle of constructions, so the automatic system that listed the parts needed didn't include it because it skips the "baseplate" which is usually at the first step.
