  1. They could use a studded plate then. I guess they tried several things but it is strange they couldn't achieve better than that. Or they just knew that anyway we would buy it (which is my case)
  2. Really nice. I missed the topic originally, good that someone bumped it. I'll try to make something in the same way as your 6-wide model; I can't continue to see the original Lego model much longer on my shelf
  3. This should not represent a big amount of parts, so I do not see why they would not include the few extra needed parts (like the Creator sets sometimes have extra parts to the main model, used only by alternate models)
  4. Funny, the photo on the left is actually the one I made from my 1:18th scale model from Sunstar Internet is a small world Original pic = http://www.antp.be/pic/miniatures/00000002.jpg I agree with those that are disappointed by that front. Long time ago a prototype in a video had a front like that. I was hoping it was just for a test... it seems not then Also the scale is too small for these big windscreen pillars.
  5. They could simple produce less of these then! Anyway as I have many of the first model (light gray with large sidewalk and no bike path) I only buy my roadplates in second-hand :D
  6. Same problem for Belgium, and that's not the first time : I bought my Horizon Express in the Lego Shop in north of France for the same reason... but this time only Germany is cheaper, in France they have it at the same price as Belgium & Netherlands. I still do not see why they charge 300 € while in the neighbouring country using the same currency it is 280 €. Anyway, I do not really care, I do not plan to buy it: too big for display :( (if I had space, I'd buy it)
  7. These are drawers from cabinet made for storing screws and other small "tools". Like what was posted often above and on previous pages ;)
  8. I'd prefer they raise the quality to what it had been previously... It was said that it was for Asian market only. But indeed we could hope that the quality is the same as these Chinese-produced bricks may end up in EU/US later... (either by second-hand, or through resellers) But there was another whole thread about that.
  9. When I was kid I was wondering if they would be glow-in-the-dark. I discovered it was not the case when I got the first one, but as it was not mentioned on the box (as you said - such features are usually mentioned) I was not hoping too much anyway (and found the sets nice anyway). But I also think that many of the effects added to the images are too much.
  10. Around here (Brussels) it is rather common to have stations in a building like that. I couldn't find any good-looking one, but just an example for the idea: https://maps.google.com/?ll=50.86506,4.339685&spn=0.004862,0.009989&t=h&z=17&layer=c&cbll=50.864948,4.339751&panoid=AV0HzrJ7toH2i3q7gBeTNw&cbp=12,93.92,,0,-14.81
  11. When I was kid it was the opposite: when I saw clone brands with colors that Lego didn't have back then, my parents said something like "That's not worth it, it is bad quality, it is better to only have real Lego" :D So even if I didn't have a lot of expensive sets, I still had lots of Lego and no clone bricks mixed to my collection.
  12. Hence the creator's suggestion of making a set with three vignettes. And I think that the three (s)he selected are indeed the best ones. If there can be only one, the one selected for that is my favourite too, so anyway I'll buy it.
  13. As they have a factory in Czech Rep, it would be logical to have a store at least there
  14. Interesting detail about that Danone truck : I already saw the picture but I only notice now that they used a sticker for the ad. The actual set has a printed 1x4 Brick "Danone". http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/3010px58
  15. Indeed, with the white parts it makes the whole thing really good-looking.
  16. Or a little less (but not much less), as there are two or three different types. The red is indeed rare compared to the black one (which sells for half of the price, or even less) The rails & conductors will add a few euros to the amount, I think 1 or 1.5 € each in average if they are clean. I think you can count 2 € for 1 conductor part + 2 rails + sleepers (from Bricklink prices, though that I often bought rails for less on Ebay).
  17. Aren't current transparent parts still in CA ? Or did they modify the formula ? As these do not seem to deform.
  18. I have a bag of unusable old bricks like that. The blue & red slope parts as well as the trans-clear parts seem mostly OK so I keep them with my more recent parts (and use them), but most of the red & white CA ended in that bag.
  19. Or a few 16x16 / 16x32 can also equilibrate the differences between 32x32 and 48x48. I also have an old gray 50x50 baseplate, same problem (well anyway there is a space problem before: I do not know where I would put all these baseplates to build something huge on them )
  20. Sad that this plate is so rare, it is nice. I only knew the airport set (seen in Bricklink some time ago), I didn't know the plate was included with another set.
  21. Well that's not the 800x600 limit that prevents from publishing pics a little bigger than 320x240 like here :p
  22. Ditto, what a lot of nice colors/parts...
