I think that is because my camera battery was dying when I took these pictures and the flash was weak... Just decorations. I'd actually finished them the week/month before and have been saving them for this week. Yes. Because if I'd included them my 7 vignette series would have been a 17 vignette series, which I knew I'd never finish. Besides how do you show plague of darkness? Or make minifig scale flies? Steve

The first passover is the subject of my fifth Moses vignette: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Vi...ver/moses5a.jpg The whole bloody gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=243571 Tomorrow (for real): "Life's a beach and then you die..." Steve

I've noticed the same thing. I was sorting and noticed some color variations in the dark bley and new browns. And then there was the purple problem with the Knight Bus. Makes me think twice about picking up the Corner Cafe... I've noticed the slope smoothness, though that's been going on for several years now... And the instruction booklet colors are still off and hard to tell just what color you need... Its quite disappointing... Steve

I just realized my comment seemed unduly harsh. I didn't mean the MOC looked bad, I just thought the first one looked better in comparison. Steve

Superman probably wouldn't cut it as a full blown line. I'm not sure there are enough set ideas. X-men might work, but has a similar problem. As to the rest, the superheros just aren't that widely known. Steve

Not sure if this belongs here or in B/S/T, since its an auction. But I'm posting it here, as I'm not interested in the auction, but rather the nature of the items. http://cgi.ebay.com/Rare-LEGO-Hip-Hop-Coll...1QQcmdZViewItem Anyone seen/know of this? Is it legit (or perhaps I should say "too legit to quit")? :-D Steve P.S. What a post to be my 1001st...

Part four of my life of Moses series is up: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Vi...kes/moses4a.jpg The whole confrontational gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=243570 Tomorrow: life's a beach... oops, got one day ahead of myself... :-$ Tomorrow: Blood on the Saddle... er I mean doorposts... Steve

I prefer the first one as well. The second looks like its an alternate model that belongs on the back of the packaging for the first one. The first one looks complete, but the second one looks like you took the bricks from the back of the left building to make the right one (or vice-versa). At least that's the impression I get, though I can't really explain why. Steve

Is it the text at the bottom you don't like, meaning: do you like it better on the side? Or do you just not like text in my MOCs all together? That's correct. I'm glad someone noticed the fleshy hand. X-D Steve

Athos replied to agrotic's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I wonder if it will be available via S@H or at the Lego stores... Steve -
Here is the third entry in my Moses series: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Vi...ush/moses3a.jpg The whole reluctant gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=243569 Tomorrow: "Snakes on a [Egyptian] Plain" Steve

I got to thinking, if the hieroglyphs in the Adventurers Egypt theme could be translated, can the runes on the viking shields be similarly translated? Brickster? Anyone? Steve

Think we could lock this thread and create two new threads, one for the Hoth set and one for the crusier set? Then we would have two much more managable and readable threads, rather than this unwieldy 90 page thread? I wonder, if because this seems to be (or at least I've heard a rumor to the effect) a TRU exclusive, that didn't do Gunray, because they don't do new molds for such sets. I know they couldn't do new molds for Lego Direct products and I wonder if a similar restriction applies to exclusives? I am quite disappointed that there is no Hoth wildlife though... makes what would have been a must-buy into a well-I-may-think-about-it-and-if-the-wife-is-ok-with-it-buy... :-( Steve

Nothing like digging up an old topic, but I'm glad you like it! X-D Steve

The second vignette in the life of Moses: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Vi...lee/moses2a.jpg The whole impulsive gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=243568 Keep watching for another vignette tomorrow... Steve

Once again, a most excellent MOC. I love the color scheme and the various skinless denziens. Can't think of anything else to add, except, wish Lego would make more sets like this! Steve

In honor of Passover (and Easter) this coming week, I present a new series of vignettes, based on the life of Moses, starting with his birth: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Vi...ket/moses1a.jpg The whole water-tight gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=243566 Stay tuned for more Mosaic vignettes this week! I'm hesitant to admit, for fear of it being plundered by all the pirates around here, but that is only a small portion of my treasure (less than 50% for sure and probably less than 25%). X-D Steve

I can't tell if it is in white or light grey. Either way, its beautiful. It reminds me a bit of Neuschwanstein. And I'm particularly fond of the action in the valley. The depth of the valley is quite impressive. Steve

Joseph Smith. is the founder of Mormonism... I made him when I went to Utah for vacation. I also recently made Moses: Steve

Are you sure? There was a larger row boat in the Adventurers Amazon Ruins set. I think it might be that one in brown. Ooops, guess I should have read the second page... Steve

Thanks all! I didn't think the gold and silver showed up very well in the picture. I don't think I've got the proper lighting for it. More of a mannequin to show off the chrome armor. Steve

Lose the garage and place it in a more sea-side landscape and I think you are finished. Steve
