  1. Congratultions to rexcal and also to the organizer of the contest, I really didn't think it was going to work out. Guess I was wrong there... Steve
  2. Needs some sort of backpack, but other than that, looks good. Steve
  3. Works for me... I think it was Col. Mustard in the Dining Room with the Lead Pipe! Steve
  4. I'm in. My figure can be the one from my avatar (though perhaps not in Moses' garb). Steve
  5. Well if I somehow manage to find two of them (unlikely, as I'm not anticipating buying many/any Star Wars sets), I hereby commit to release the second one into the community. Perhaps by way of a prize for a contest. I'm thinking of a "build a monument to my greatness" contest. X-D Steve
  6. Looks outstanding. I'd snap a set like this up in an instant, if I found it on the shelves! I really like how you can capture that elusive element (sparse, but not barren; simple but not thrown together) that makes your MOCs look like an official set from the golden era. I'm especially keen on those support beams sticking out on the front. All that's really needed are some Mexican civilians with sombrero's and poncho torsos... I think this may be my favorite of your MOCs. Steve
  7. The seductive Melantha, Mistress of Poisons, is my entry into the Wizard Challenge: Rejected, for another, by her childhood sweetheart, Melantha turned to the deadly nightshade to rid herself of her hated rival. Her plan, however, failed, as her beloved was so crushed by his loss, he flung himself into the raging river and drown. Being young and inexperienced in the ways of murder Melantha's crime was quickly discovered and she was forced to flee her village. Finding herself alone she quickly determined never to make such a costly mistake again and devoted herself to learning the ways of potions and poisons. After several years and several successful poisonings, Melantha encountered the sage Rajnish. He recognized the great potential contained in the deceitful. He took Melantha as his concubine and student and began to tutor her in the ways of magic. Melantha soon learned magic could expand her already great knowledge and embraced the ways of sorcery. From Rajnish's secret sanctuary, Melantha plies her trade and releases deadly poisons upon the land. Steve
  8. Princess looks better and better. I just wish they'd given us new faces, rather than recycling the same ones (Rascus and that Viking guy) over and over and over... Steve
  9. Hillarious. I love the monkeys getting into everything. Steve
  10. Maybe a set end date would be good too then? Steve
  11. Could you extend the deadline a bit? I'm interested, but I just don't think I can get an entry together in time, as I'd like to do an interior. I'd imagine that is due to the cool prizes offered in that contest... Steve
  12. Touche ;-) I'm quite interested as to what it will look like too... Steve
  13. That's because you need it to cover up the smell... X-D Steve
  14. Well that doesn't help us much, now does it? ;-) I wonder if that means we'll get some berets and striped shirt minifigs? Maybe we'll also get some minifig flies or perhaps some yellow flame pieces to indicate that the French minifigs are unwashed and smelly too? ;-) Steve
  15. Shouldn't this be on the main page? Steve, who thinks this year is going to be even more expensive that previously thought...
  16. No pictures? You ordered it without any pictures? Steve
  17. Here's my thoughts on all the entries: I really like the chandalier. Its a pity those doc ock hand pieces don't come in brown (or the wheel in black or bley), it'd look much better all one color. I also like the water, with the bubbles. I like how this one has scenes on both sides. I also like the angled building on the right and the wake of the boat. This one looks really good. I don't, however, like the red-plate curtain or the burnt orange column piece or its attachment method. I love the brown tile planked floor though. Looks great. Looks very imposing. Shooting cannons too, I see. Not quite as much action as I'd have preferred and for some reason the positioning of the figures reminds me of that whack-a-mole arcade game. I feel like I should be pounding that guy on the left's head. Needs a lot more action/figures here. I really like the treasure and the flag over the archway. I also am having a hard time looking past the lack of blue for water... Looks much better. This on has the action the other one needed. I'm not sure about the cowboy hat guy though... Also, I'd have put a ledge infront of the flames, so you can't see how they are attached. Would look more realistic that way I think. Great boat design. Looks like you're the only who bothered with that, rather than just using the prefab boats. Good choice. My that's a lot of treasure too... guess the mob business is paying well... I think this one looks the most realistic/accurate. I really like the plates on the arch. How did you get the key to stay in the dog's mouth? Steve
  18. I'd like to see a ranch set. Or anything that brings us cows and other farm animals for that matter. Steve
  19. Quite right. Like I'm going to be able to find a post about hooks (in a pirate forum of all places), on page six of a 10 page thread from last Christmas. Though at the same time, the title of the thread was quite clearly germaine to my post, so I apologize for not searching. And I probably shouldn't have thought I was the first person to think of it. Steve, the properly chastened...
  20. I'm not quite such how appropriate such an action is. It seems like you are attempting to skirt the rules and avoid the constrictures placed on you by the contest rules. Hardly seems fair to be limiting people to only certain sizes and numbers of pictures, but then permit them to avoid the rule in such a manner. Why bother with rules if that's the case. It would be like me saying here is this wonderful MOC, I built, but to entice you to vote for me, I've photoshopped my MOC into a huge diorama created by a professional Lego designer. :-/ Steve
  21. I'm still quite sick of Star Wars. I think its the flesh toned figures. And the sets this year really haven't impressed me in either design (i.e Hoth Base) or part selection (i.e. Grevious Starfighter). Plus, there is just so much other good stuff coming out (new Castle, Cafe Corner, Eiffel Tower?) Steve
  22. I think you have too many big sets and are neglecting the smaller (under $50) sets. You split this one up into a set for each building and have a whole line from just it. Also, you've fallen victim to the standard new set idea trap... too many minifigs. Steve
  23. I know I've seen this before, but it still looks great. I love that unusual color. Steve
  24. Because town people are a bunch of weenies! :-P Even adventurers has it own site! Steve
  25. The biggest phallic monument of all: Steve
