  1. Personally, I think this chess set will be the best of the bunch. Crown knights are somewhat lacking in troops, so the figures will be welcome for that. And more skeletons to add to the horde are always welcome. I didn't find the Viking chess that useful, because large numbers of identically dressed vikings didn't strike me right, since Vikings wouldn't wear uniforms. But crown knights all dressed in similar heraldry makes more sense. Steve
  2. I'm not so much sick of licenses, as I am of flesh figures and extensive/excessive remakes of the same item over and over again (X-wing, Y-wing, AT-ST, Snowspeeder, Hagrid's Hut, etc.). At least with Hogwarts, the sets have been different looking enough to warrant remakes and you can combine them into a super-Hogwarts. And don't get me started on the ridiculous number TIE fighters... at least a dozen... :-X Steve
  3. I hope next year has the humans on the offensive, rather than hold up in their castle under siege. That way we'd get a dwarf or ogre fortress. Steve
  4. Very cool. I like how you did Holiday. Makes him stand apart, but still fits with the rest. The head choices are great for the Earps. They all look related. I've been trying to figure out how to make a vignette of that, but never did. Cramming 4 figures on an 8x8 plate was just too tough. Nice to see someone else did it. Steve

    'A' is for...

Starting a new town alphabet vignette series. Thought about doing pirates, but everything was going to be too similar. So I went with town instead. So my first entry is: A is for Architect: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/To.../architect1.jpg The whole Admin[instrative] gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=258465 Steve
  6. My James Bond creations... Steve
  7. Except for that she might be ugly under it... *wacko* Steve
  8. To truly settle the question the age old question of whether pirates or ninjas would win, I've decided to combine these two themes, in the Miss Legoland pageant. Actually, it was because neither had enough female figures to warrant their own poll: 1. The Rare White Ninja Princess: 2. The Ecologically Friendly Green Ninja Princess: 3. The Native Islander: 4. The Swashbuckling Pirate Wench: Steve
  9. I don't think that torso's shirt is open far enough... He didn't look right without the epaulettes either... Steve
  10. I don't like the purple either, but it was the only way to get the open shirt. Blast Ricardo Montaban and his sculped muscular chest... Steve
  11. Interesting. What is that, three chess sets now? Anyone want to trade some Crown Knight pawns for some Viking pawns? Steve
  12. Khhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Steve
  13. I think we need a Boar faction. Primary colors of brown and blue. Steve
  14. I think a Dwarven Mine would be a good set. Steve
  15. The first line isn't even out in regular stores yet and you're already excited about the second round. X-D Steve
  16. If you want to cut your losses, I'll purchase some of those from you from 25% of MRSP? X-D Steve
  17. Does this mean we get to decide what this place is? My vote is for candy store... Steve
  18. I agree a Brickfilm would be good. Maybe you could just do a comic strip/picture story? Steve, who wonders why the Indy rumors didn't make the news?
  19. Um... 8-| Steve
  20. Ah, I got you now. I tend not to read excessively long threads (3 pages or more). It still looks like an owl to me, pretty sure its not a frog but maybe scabbers. I'd guess owl though. X-D Steve
  21. What else would it be? It certainly looks like an owl? Steve, who wonders why this is such an issue?
  22. I'm personally rather tired of Lego dinosaurs... especially (and this is likely to be the case with any new line) if they are as crappy as the DinoAttack ones. As to the set ideas, I think these are some of the best (most realistic) ideas for set sizes and figure counts. Might be interesting. I'm not a fan of licenses though and would rather Lego stuck to original lines... Steve
  23. Where did that guy come from? Steve
