Where do Rare/HTF Parts come from?
Athos replied to Turaga of Force's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Oooh, a tan barrell, tan viking helmet, black gem (and Terry Brooks fans out there?). Personally, I wish we had more varieties of color in hair pieces. Steve -
Or maybe like this. Because Star Wars has already gotten a bunch of new molds (new guns, kit fisko, rebel helmets, at-st driver helmet, battle damaged vader helmet, etc.). Its time to put some of those resources to Castle themes. When did they say that? That's one of my favorite MOCs. I love the purple/grey color combination. Steve

Any pictures of Keira Knightly? Now she's got the kind of pirate booty, I'm looking for...
-
Not interested in the cargo plane anymore... I guess that's good since my wallet is already hurting... Steve
-
I'm pretty sure these are just preliminary prototype sets, particularly because of Belloq. His torso is from Harry Potter (Wormtail) and I think the face is Doc Ock. I can't imagine Lego doing something like that, even with their recent irritating penchant for reusing old faces/torso. Steve
-
I think these must be prototypes. Here's why: -Naboo Fighter Pilots are chasing Indy -Belloq looks like the illegitimate child of Doc Ock and Peter Pettrigrew -Old grey on cab of truck -Hovito is just a brown figure with blue pants -Old skeleton in jungle temple -Ark is different in Well of Souls from the one on the truck Steve
-
Battle damaged Vader looks interesting, but that set looks too expensive. The Halfire Droid set looks like it has potential and the rebel minifig pack looks good. The other sets are just mehhhhh... Steve
-
I kind of agree the set quality has declined with this release... Yuck, I don't like the goblin helmets... The dwarfs look good though, I'm especially keen on their beards. Hopefully they'll fit with the Viking helmets too. Is that sword the dwarf blacksmith working on in the mine two-toned or is it just the photography? Looks like we get a new pick too... I'd rather they just used to old pick and gave us an new pig or other animal... I don't know how those knights expect to defend that tower, when the siege engine is bigger than the tower... Looks to be the worst of the line. Sand green flags, anyone? Catapult looks silly and has that <insert that tiresome argument> catapult piece (like I needed another one of those). I'd like it better if it came with shields for everyone... Steve
-
I wonder the flame swords were just proto-types of these swords in red, because red is cheaper to make? Steve
-
Not sure if I like the new troll/goblin faction. They seem to be lacking the magic of the other factions and I'm not sure why. I think it might be the weapons? Ship looks like a half-rate reworking of the Viking Ship, complete with the prison cage and stupid ballista thing. I'll have to see it up close in the store before I make a full judgment. Steve
-
I'm not all that impressed, probably just my Star Wars fatigue (coupled with my strong dislike of fleshtones). I may pick up the rebel troopers set, but will probably pass on the rest. Steve
-
Great way to do the exploding head. That's also a very nice ark. Steve
-
The dog set sounds promising... It'll be the first reasonably priced set with a dog. The cargo plane also sounds good, though I'm still hoping for a Lao Che plane from Indy... Steve
-
Not to question LM's veracity too much, but where does this information come from? Still the sets sound quite interesting and I'm excited to see what they bring... Steve
-
Wouldn't need a new mold, you could just use a grey lightsaber blade, with some printing on it. Steve

What are your biggest Lego dissapointments?
Athos replied to Batbrick's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Flesh tones. This has to be the biggest disappointment for me. Its essentially taken away all the useful heads that came in license sets, which were often the biggest supplier of new faces... Also, the grey/brown color change, though this was not as big a deal as the flesh tones... Steve -
I think the ground could use a bit for landscaping, but I think that first picture is great. Steve

I agree, we need to find the crew manifest, but rather than running here and there searching rooms at random, I suggest we search in an orderly fashion. That way we don't miss anything...

Evil Monkey... Steve

I think it is the princess' hair from the new Castle line, in black. At least that's what this article from classic-castle seemed to indicate:
-
These look so good. *wub* I can hardly wait until they come out (when it that?). I thought it was a monkey too... X-D Darn tiny pictures. *wacko* "A frenchman they call Bellosch..." Steve

I think the game is moving too fast to keep up with. We have 42 pages of posts to read through, so if you miss a day or two (as I did) or start late (as I did) you are so far behind, that if you are at all busy with other things (as I am) it is impossible to keep up. And if someone like that has important information, it may never get disclosed... I don't know what to do to correct this, other than exclude people who can't keep up. Steve
-
Gah, that title doesn't do it for me at all... Sounds like Atlantis to me... Steve
-
I do not know. I tell you everything I know. I only hear stories from amigos back on land of such creature... I did not listen well because such things scare me...
