  1. The buddy system only ensures we lose even numbers of people... 8-
  2. I know not so much about this fish-man. Only hear his name from me amigos back on the dry land... They say he is a curse upon gringo shipping for stealing simple villagers away from their life fishing the seas...
  3. It is the curse of the hombre de pescado!
  4. Very cool. Simple, elegant and effective. Steve
  5. Great moments in Lego history continues with the Wright Brothers' historic flight near Kitty Hawk, North Carolina on December 17, 1903: http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1319/131715...5e1d61d.jpg?v=0 The whole flighty gallery (on flickr shudder): http://www.flickr.com/photos/12652030@N06/...57601843577218/ This was my first attempt at a mini-scale vehicle of any sort, so I'm interested in feed back. Also, a couple weeks ago, I had the chance to visit Kitty Hawk and see the the real field where the Wright Brothers flew. I'm standing at the lift-off point and those white markers show where each of the 4 flights landed: http://www.maj.com/gallery/Athos/CrossCountry/kittyhawk2.jpg And I also visited the Smithsonian and was able to see the real Wright Flyer: http://www.maj.com/gallery/Athos/CrossCoun...wrightflyer.jpg Steve
  6. Madre de dios, and I thought we mexicans had long names... Steve
  7. SpongeBob has had some good sets, the Krusty Krab is a great set, both modelwise and for parts. But it still seems like a silly license and a bit of a stretch for Lego. It must be doing good though to have another line of sets come out. Avatar was a waste. I didn't like the sets much and I have no idea what the show is. Indy is a good license, though it seems very limited to me. JT would have been better. Star Wars was a good license, but I think its run its course and is time to be put to bed. Harry Potter didn't work out well. Too hard to make sets for the movies which all take place at essentially the same place. Steve
  8. It is el Criatura del Profundo! A curse upon your gringo shipping companies for luring the simple fishermen away from their traditional fishing lives, with promises of American dinero... My amigos on shore warned me of such things before I signed on for this voyage! I am maldecido! Madre de Dios, rescate yo!
  9. I am called Manny Cortez. I am, how do you say it, carrier of the loads. I will drink that beer Senior Capitain has offered...
  10. Much as I hate to say it, maybe we should move the avatars to flickr, since the bs family is having troubles... Steve
  11. Be sure to take a figure with you when you go sight-seeing and take a picture or two of him/her infront of the sight. Then I can include it in my blog... Steve
  12. Yes. I've been to all those places and have some pictures I haven't gotten around to uploading. Steve
  13. Canyonlands Update Steve

  15. More additions for the Index: The Abu Simbel The Temple of Hathor Some Adventurers vignettes Some Indy vignettes Steve
  16. Great idea! Steve
  17. Man the stickers on everything are really starting to irritate me a lot. I'm not sure I like the white 3P0, in a set that is primarily made up of whites. Doesn't stand out enough. The snowspeeder looks a lot shorter than previous versions. Steve
  18. This set (like most of Star Wars lately) just doesn't do it for. This one, however, is particularly bad. Personally, I'm quite sick of building the TIE cockpit over and over again. Also, as this vehicle was never seen in the movie, I've got no idea what it is or what its supposed to do. I'm also not real fond of the figures. Black storm troopers... mehhhh? Again, not in the movie, so I don't know what they are and am not really interested. I'm also not real keen on the color-scheme. They look too much like a bad cross-over comic of Spiderman and Star Wars to me... Venom meets Vader... Steve
  19. Thanks for the review! I'm glad to see Lego including details of everyday life, like the food (though a plate would have been nice). Steve
  20. The head needs some work. Its a little too large and too far forward, but other than that, its looking like a good start. Did you have to mod that shield to make it fit flush against his chest? Steve P.S. Have you seen my miniland figures?
  21. What? You didn't take a figure with you? If you had, I'd have included your trip on my blog. Steve
  22. I found Snape's death to be very unsatisfying. He should have gone out in a blaze of glory saving Harry, rather than simply being offed as snake-chow. Or at least known that Voldemort wanted to be master of the wand and willingly died deceiving Voldemort that he was the wand's master. I also thought Wormtail's death was similarly unsatisfying. I didn't mind the strangled with his own hand part, but I think he should have been killed for more than just one single flash of mercy. His merciful act should have been more dramatic. There should have also been a more redemptive act for Draco too. Even if it was something very minor. I'd also liked to have seen Lupin take on Greyback. Werewolf on werewolf fight. Maybe Greyback could kill Lupin and then Tonks could have taken out Greyback. Steve
  23. Looks good. I may just have to pick this one up, though I was initially going to pass. Steve
  24. I agree, but the buildings are still miles ahead of the KK2 junk... Steve
  25. The pencils look good. I almost didn't realize they were made out of Lego. Steve
