What is the verb for searching through your collection

Digging Steve -
The Yeti, hands down. He's pretty well done. The other two are horrible. I wish Lego would have spent the money to make an actual tiger mold rather than the stupid Tygurah. I am pretty sure I won't be able to find a use for the Jun-Chi and Tygurah, but the Yeti will likely appear in a JT story... someday.... Steve

I am very really super extremely disappointed about the stickered emperor piece. *n* So disappointed in fact, that I am considering passing on this set. :-( Steve

I really like JT#4, but I have to go with the classic JT#1. I also really like Kilroy#4 and Harry. And we can't forget about Pippin (ggggrrrroooowwwwlllll... *wub* ). Say, Brickster, I don't think those pics are correct, or do not cover all the hero incarnations. There is the Kilroy one, without the vest, with just suspenders and tie. And then there is the initial Pippin face, which is not included in any of the pictures. Steve

The Adventures of Johnny Thunder 4

Well since I was on such a roll, I decided why not post another installment. Though it maybe a while before I get the next ones up, as I don't have the scenery build yet. So this will have to tide you over until then: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...tory/pop033.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...tory/pop034.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...tory/pop035.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...tory/pop036.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...tory/pop999.jpg The whole dino-topian gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=139871 Steve -

In celebration of passing the Nevada Bar Exam, I decided to upload yet another installment in the story: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...tory/pop029.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...tory/pop030.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...tory/pop031.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...tory/pop032.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...tory/pop999.jpg The whole dino-mazing gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=139871 Steve -
This sounds like an official Lego company deal, unlike the C-C deal, which, I believe, is strictly a fan based arrangement. Steve

Does an admin want to move this to "the forum formerly known as castle, et al" as it appears to be the proper Adventurer forum...? -
Keep an eye of for a story along these lines... Someday... ;-) Actually most of the characters have at least one AKA. Seems like one for the European market and one for the US. Makes things a little hard to keep track of... I'm also working on a story to explain all the goofy name variations... Someday... ;-) As for the topic of the thread: Piece-wise, I'd go with either of the turbaned guys. The turban colors are perfect and the torsos are pretty nice too, and the faces are great for all themes. As for best villain, I'd go with Baron von Barron. He just makes a perfect nemesis to JT. And he strikes me as being a somewhat honorable villain too. I do like the mummy too, though... Steve

I know I've seen it before... I would like to snag one of these. Though I'm not fond of the yellow. Maybe I'll steal the design and rework it with a different color. Steve

Sorry there isn't much story to this, as its mostly just transition scenes, but here is the latest additions: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...tory/pop000.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...tory/pop017.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...tory/pop018.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...tory/pop019.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...tory/pop020.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...tory/pop999.jpg The whole bronto-tacular gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=139871 Steve -
This is a great set. I got it for Christmas the year it came out (I used to get a large lego set every year from 'Santa'). I still have it completely assembled, fully manned, and connected with the 6059 and surrounding the keep (6086). X-D One thing that made this set better than 6080 is the gate moves up and down a lot smoother in this set. The one in 6080 was kind of clunky. Steve

What would make a great Adventurer sub-theme?

Well... ;-) Steve, who really didn't mean it, hence the wink -
Quite cool. I might steel (pun intended) that design for use in one of my stories :D Steve

Orient Expedition (OE) Quiz

Blast! I only got 16 right :-$ Of course, one of those was a stupid mistake of thinking the helmet came with the Scorpion Palace, when I can very clearly see the shield behind the onion dome now. Grrrr. The other three wrong answers I don't mind so much. After all who knew what the emperor's name was (and I was 1/2 right, anyway) and what Dorje's name means... Steve -
I can't believe the Island Hopper isn't winning hands-down. It is by far the best plane (even if it is a seaplane). It was even hard for me to wreck it in my latest story. Steve

In the words of Rush Limbaugh: Mega-Dittos... Steve

As others have said, I absolutely love the tree. I think it may be making its way into a vignette, if I can dig up sufficient pink flowers... Steve

In one of those pictures, it looks like Vader is about to get the John Wilkes Booth treatment 8-

Yes, this is my 1001th... or is that 1001st post... at classic-castle.com, that is? At any rate, I consider it to be quite the milestone. As such, I have created three vignettes to celebrate, each depicting a scene occurring c. 1001 A.D. First, Leif Erikson lands in America: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Vi...AD/vinland1.jpg More info at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leif_Ericson Second, King Stephen I receives the Holy Crown from Pope Silvester: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Vi...D/stepheni1.jpg More info at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_I_of_Hungary Lastly, the Chinese discover gunpowder: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Vi.../gunpowder1.jpg More info at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gunpowder All three together: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Vi...1001AD/1001.jpg The whole millenial gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=179709 Steve

I like it! I may have to borrow the design and modify it. Make it a little longer, maybe. But I probably won't, as I have a heck of a time building any kind of vehicle or anything else not starting from a pretty solid and large baseplate. Steve

Well I was hoping for a map similar to the Bricksters. And I don't imagine the Adventurers will have anything more to do with Pirates, as they have already been there and done that. Besides I still have a long Asian story to do. And vikings. And maybe a city story. And an arctic story. Greece. One or two at the university. And Space. So I have a lot to do before repeating anything... Steve
-
Maybe a vignette or two... someday... when I get a good idea for one. Stories... probably not. My hands are quite full with Adventurers stories right now. I would like a map for my Adventurers stories though... *sweet* Steve
