  1. I think it was explained once, don't ask me when or where, that Lego liked to put off/odd colored pieces in where they couldn't be seen, so that kids could have a large variety of colors to play with. It seems kids like many multi-colored pieces, even when it doesn't make any aesthetic sence, at all. Steve
  2. Ehhhhhh... I'm not all that impressed. I think I may be burnt out on Star Wars after 7 years now... plus the fleshtones really ruin the sets for me. I may snag the AT-ST thing and maybe Grevious, because I like the fig, but that's about it. Steve
  3. What is it, Ninja Month? ;-) Steve
  4. Me too. It makes me sad to see how far Lego has fallen... :-( Steve
  5. Well, now this is a hard question... When compared to most of the stuff we are getting today, Ninja's were fantastic. Compared to the offerings back then, it was average. Compared to stuff from the golden-age, they were sub-par. Over all I'd say they were above average. I'm not all that into ninja stuff, so maybe some of the appeal is lost on me. At the same time they work great with the adventurers line, which really bumps them way up on the old appeal-o-meter for me. So I'll rate them as above average. Steve P.S. Plan to see a story about Johnny Thunder vs. ninjas someday...
  6. In honor of the 40th Anniversary of the debut of Star Trek (September 8, 1966), I present a Star Trek vignette. In the classic Episode 25, "The Devil in the Dark," Spock makes contact with a horta: The whole trekkian gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=188100 Live long and prosper, Steve
  7. I have all of the major non-promotional sets. Steve
  8. How about some more batman questions? And I think Nightwing has also not appeared in a movie, as I have never heard of him either. Steve
  9. Playmobil always seems to have much more diverse offerings than Lego. Especially in the historical realm. Though they have also done farms and safari too. Both of which I'd love to see in Lego. I just don't get the appeal of Playmobil... its not really a building toy is it? Steve
  10. I have to agree. I've not been impressed with many (most) of the offerings Lego has produced this year. Part of it is a personal issue for me and probably not indicitive of other customers. I think a lot of it is the new colors for me, since it renders the sets' usefulness as parts packs to a minimal level. I also think taking on a new full-time job (something I've been away from for a few years) has curtailed the time and energy I have to devote to Lego. I also think set designs have not been as good and I am very unimpressed by the explosion of technic pieces and construction techniques included in almost every set. All that being said, however, I am currently about halfway through the minifig ISD... so I guess I'm not entirely in a dark age... Steve
  11. They really revealed stuff at brickfest they don't want spread around? I can't believe that... :-/ Steve
  12. You must be at least 18 to see... X-D Steve
  13. $810 USD. 8-
  14. Try wikipedia. You can find lots of info there. Steve
  15. 7146 TIE Fighter? 7163 TIE Fighter? TIE Bomber? TIE Interceptor Final Duel I? Imperial Inspection? TIE Fighter Collection? Star Destroyer. Another person falls victim to the wishful thinking, too many figures trap... I guess that's why you said, hopes and not predictions... Steve
  16. I think there is a dominos one out there too, though it doesn't have any figures. This is quite an interesting route for Lego to take. I'm waiting for Lego Risk, myself... Steve
  17. Hmmmm... can't see the image... so I guess I'll just trump the ocean picture: Ah well, now I can see the picture... and I'll just stand by my original picture... Steve
  18. My condolences... Steve
  19. I imagine the aqua-raiders will be similar to the vikings, with a vehicle and a bionicle-eqsue monster to fight. I'm hoping the vehicles will be Jules Verne style. Steve
  20. Heeeeeeerrrrrrreeeeee's Johnny! Anyhow, I hope the aqua-raiders are something like the Adventurers... Other than that, I'm not really all that interested... at least from the names. Now let's see some pictures. Steve
  21. That should actually be one... and I am honored to be imitated. Johnny is actually going to have an Asian adventure soon, but its going to be a involved story, so I've been putting off doing it. I vote for the first one, but rather than the more modern rifle, give him the musket. Steve
  22. Very nice. My only complaint/dislike is the head icons on the posts. I don't like having to think about which posts I've read and which are new. Steve
  23. I'd like to see what face and torso are used for the queens. Steve
  24. And lets not forget all the Adventurers brickfilms out there: (beware the links are to the actual movies and some of them are quite long) Cold Comfort Alabama Jones and the Lost Topping of Doom Damsel in Distress Star of Five Treasures The Johnny Thunder Show Fred's Day (my favorite) Aladibababad Eye of Aphrodite 5919 The Museum Tower of Golden Wonders The Golden Elephant Imagine That Steve, who thinks he should have just linked to the movie download page...
  25. Steve
