[LDD MOC] Rebels Phoenix Squadron and Blade Wing
TheNerdyOne_ replied to TheNerdyOne_'s topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for the comments everyone! I updated the A-wings, using LEGO's technique in the upcoming set I gave the stabilizers a much more stable connection. The angle is more accurate too, though I think it looks a bit extreme it's exactly the angle in the actual Rebels model give or take a degree. I think I want to do those ones next! -
Well, both are technically correct. It started out as a CR70, but some time after Episode III it was upgraded and converted into a CR90, though it was also given heavy modifications to the engines. The modifications made here look great! It seems to be about the right length for the Sundered Heart, a few other modification to increase the accuracy and it would be perfect.

The stabilizers look pretty accurate to me. Maybe not an exact replica of what we see in Rebels, but it's pretty close, definitely closer than what can be accomplished with bricks, if only because they're much skinnier than bricks. My only issue is that the engines are too far apart, but that seems to be a result of the firing action and pretty easy to mod. -

Thanks! The connection is only a signle stud, but it should hold for display purposes. There are probably ways to strengthen the connection too. -

It's definitely more reddish-orange, but I think LEGO's red is way too bright. Orange is the closest we can get if you ask me. -

Probably not. The A-wings are certainly possible, but the B-wing uses too many parts that don't exist in orange. Hopefully some day. Yep, just barely. Unfortunately it comes at the cost of the appearance and the ability to rotate. Here you go! A-wings Blade Wing EDIT: Improved the turret so that it can rotate while still holding a figure. File was updated too. -
Loving Rebels so far, so I've been making some minifigure-scale ships from the show, particularly the A-wings and the prototype B-wing.

How far into TCW did you get? Her character arc is just fantastic and she really improves a lot. She's easily my favorite character in the entire Star Wars franchise. I'd say she's one of the most interesting characters in Star Wars after all is said and done, especially with her appearance with Rebels and her relationship with Anakin/Vader. -

The A-wing rumors actually stem from a set list for the Winter wave, which was most definitely not referring to the bundle. -

The problem is we have evidence that the A-wing set exists, I believe it was even initially reported straight up that Ahsoka would be included in the A-wing set, while there hasn't been so much as a rumor regarding any other set that Ahsoka could possibly be included in. LEGO has a history of making multiple sets for recolors of certain vehicles, such as the X-wing or Jedi Starfighters (and I doubt it's a coincidence that these are the only two types of vehicles in Star Wars that they can really do this with, recolor sets are great for business and they would logically want to do them as much as possible). This situation would actually be very similar to the old Ultimate Space Battle set, the A-wing included with Vader's TIE is more of a supplementary build than the main draw of the set. LEGO doesn't like to do location sets unless it's a location that is very iconic, something which a random spaceport entrance definitely is not. -

Given that we're getting another standalone X-wing when we already have a standalone X-wing, yes. -

As much as I would love a Blockade Runner, I'm definitely still betting on her being included in the A-wing. I believe it's been said that Ahsoka will be the main draw of the set by far, with something large like a Blockade Runner I can't imagine a single figure overshadowing the rest of the set, even if it is Ahsoka. -

Just to be clear, do you mean "Rebels" as in the TV series, or "rebel" as in the faction. Because I would assume these would be Rogue One sets unless otherwise stated. -

Just checking, were the pictures from the catalog showing off the other, non-Rogue One, sets linked here? I haven't seen them discussed yet, but they give us a much better look at the new sets. -

Which is what I meant be "taking elements from them." Thrawn appearing in Rebels doesn't mean that the Thrawn Trilogy itself is canon again, and the Quasar Fire-class cruiser doesn't mean that Truce at Bakura is canon again. They're taking elements from Legends, but they've stated many times that no piece of Legends media itself will ever be brought back into canon. -

The KOTOR games aren't going to be made canon. They will continue to take elements from them, but we've been told multiple times that no Legends media will ever be fully accepted back into the new canon, KOTOR included. -
Definitely, here you go:Pelta-class Frigate Phoenix Home CR90 Corvettes Micro Fighters (not all of these are completely my design, which is partly why not all of them are included in the OP) Gozanti-class Cruiser

They're just down from all the traffic they're getting. They've said on their Twitter account that the site will be back up soon, and they're working on organizing all of their photos and videos right now. -

Well, I mean, it may not be the same wave but it's also pretty weird that they're releasing two color variations of the same X-wing back to back. At least if they're doing that with the A-wings one of those sets will include something extra, rather than just being the same ship twice like they did with the X-wing. -

Pretty sure Anakin's Custom Jedi Starfighter that's out right now is a Walmart exclusive. Assuming Ahsoka's in the A-wing, sounds like she'll be exclusive to Target. -
Thank you! I am planning on doing the Arquitens-class Light Cruiser from Rebels/TCW, both and Imperial and Republic version. Maybe some Imperial ships from Legends as well, if no more show up in Rebels. There are a few smaller Pelta's out there, though I'm not sure if any of them are 1:1600. A Google search is probably your best option. And the Quasar Fire is definitely on the list! Just waiting for its episode to air so I can get a better look at it and how different it is from the old-canon version.

We haven't seen pictures of Rex's AT-TE either. -
Just a bit. Always loved that ship. I do have this one of Phoenix Squadron all together: Thanks! The Gozanti took a few tries to get right, but I am really happy with the result. Thanks! I do have an Ideas project for Phoenix Home. Not that I'm really expecting much but hey, it's there. Just finished ordering the parts to build it myself.

I figure the best way to show all of these off is to make a single thread to post them all in. Back when the first episode of Rebels Season 2 I decided to make Phoenix Home, the modified Pelta-class Frigate used by Phoenix Squadron. Since then I've made a number of ships to-scale with that model, and plan to make more. Here's everything so far: Republic: Rebel Alliance: Empire: I'll be updating this thread as I make more. Thanks for looking!
