Stay tuned and you'll find out soon

This is really superb work! I'm very impressed with how real this coastal town looks. I love all the details you've put into this. I'd love to see some bigger pics (like 800x600) so I can take a better look.

I was in Gunzburg this year for the 2009 event, so I'd love to see Billund next time. My vote goes to Billund!

Thanks to our member Black Rabbit for pointing out these pictures from a Russian LEGO event (source: Shurik's Photostream on Flickr) Let's start with Atlantis: Source removed from Flickr Source removed from Flickr Discuss Atlantis here There was also a Toy Story and a Prince of Persia set displayed at this event (set on the right in the picture below is the one from PoP): Source removed from Flickr Discuss Prince of Persia here. Discuss Toy Story here. Seemed like City sets are in more surprises next year. Source removed from Flickr Discuss City 2010 sets in here. Some Star Wars sets can be found in the center as well. No no, it's called "Pillage the Village II", so different name. Different concept? You'll know in 5 days
-
If the concept would just be the same as "Pillage the village I" it would show a lack of imagination on our part. So maybe this one is very different or... maybe I'm just saying this because I want you to believe it is different. Wait, now I'm starting to confuse myself Our contest master SlyOwl will release more bits of info about this contest in the coming days and on the 25th you'll know what's it all about. So stay tuned!
-
Don't get your hopes up, this contest might be very different from the first one

I borrowed the "director's cut" Blu-ray from a friend. It's 196 min long (30 min more compared to the normal version)

Very nice work, this looks great! And it's such a coincidence that I was going to watch the movie Troy actually right now.

There is a good chance that pirates will return in the coming years so all the fan feedback we collected and delivered to LEGO is not lost. We must also keep in mind that takes around 1 year to develop a new set, so the feedback which we provided now can at best only result in sets in one year. So maybe our timing was perfect for the return of Pirates
-
No need to be so negative, thanks for keeping that in mind in the future. Personally I would prefer to get some conquistadors and a trade faction, but if POTC is all that we can get, then I will still be happy if it has useful figs and parts. But at this moment we can only speculate what the future will bring.

You can find some pictures of the upcoming PoP theme here.

Don't forget the new Prince of Persia theme. I'm pretty excited about that one, it seems to have fantastic figs and it brings us camels Maybe the God's will still bring us one or a few more pirate sets before the curtain falls

Being a die hard pirates fan, I'm also very very much saddened by this news. I've received the news already a few days ago, but didn't want to post it at first, I just couldn't. I must admit I don't get it. Why kill such a wonderful theme after one wave of sets? We will do everything we can to fight for the return of Pirates!

Dear LEGO Pirate fans, Today the burden to bring you sad news rests upon my shoulders. The LEGO Ambassadors have been informed that LEGO Pirates theme will be discontinued by mid 2010. We were told that the new Pirates line wasn't designed to be an ongoing theme this time, so it's only going to be on the shelves until second half next year by when it will disappear. This means there's not a new line designed for LEGO Pirates for 2010. There is some hope that LEGO Pirates might be back one day because the theme did sell rather well. Share your thoughts and feeling about this sad news in this thread. Your feedback will be relayed to the LEGO Community team by your Classic-Pirates.com ambassador. - Bonaparte, Ambassador Classic-Pirates.com Sign the petition to keep Pirates into 2010 and beyond now! Update from Steve Witt (LEGO Community team):

I've received following feedback from the LEGO Community team on the reported quality issues: The LEGO quality department is aware of the quality issues and is working hard to fix them. The extended line (keychains, magnets, games (but not LGS), etc.) is in a different supply chain and therefore not our regular production facilities. The current state of these products are hopefully just an aberration that will be fixed soon.

These figs look fantastic. Your army must be the most realist LEGO Napoleonic army reproduction existing. I'm also very impressed by Woody's hats, he seems to have a nice selection available at his shop by now (just took another look).

About 1,5 years ago we've moved Eurobricks from a regular webspace provider to a VPS (Virtual Private Server) running Linux. Since that moment we've been managing our own server. We've been writing some scripts (scheduled via crontab) to take automatic backups and such. The first months after moving to our own Linux server, the biggest problem was related to slowness and slow loading of our site. I've been reading a ton of articles on webserver tuning which (combined with some server upgrades) fixed the problem. I've learned a lot about tuning an (Apache) webserver for heavy use (we're having a lot of simultaneous people browsing EB) and I won't mind taking a look at the Apache configuration file of the Peeron.com server (I assume it's running Apache). If I'm also provide with hardware specification of the server (RAM, dynamic RAM, ...) I might have some suggestions for making it run smoother. Maybe someone already looked into all of this, in which case you can forget I wrote this

At this moment the answer is no. If that changes I'll let you know. PS: Don't forget to capitalize you sentences, we're not a chat room. Thanks!

It seems the US D2C (Direct to Consumer) team has learned their lesson from last years castle calender (which was also not available in the US), but they were just to late for the pirate calender of this year (they tried to get in on the pirate one for this year but the development frame had already been set and they therefore lost their opportunity). They are on time for forecasts this time around so in 2010 this shouldn't be a problem. Development time is super long and with limited release products if you don't get in on the ground floor then you're out of luck. Seems to be that they took good learnings from the castle calendar, but were already too late for the pirate one. In 2010, they'll be able to apply their learnings. The problem here isn't lack of desire to have it available in the US, its just timing.

The best you can do (US members) is to start flooding the LEGO customer service with complaints about the non-availability of the Pirates advent calender in the US.
