Build a frigate with Captain Green Hair
Bonaparte replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
For some time now I've planned to destroy my frigate L'Orient and build a better one. This is a nice opportunity and I'll join in. I've just placed a BL order since I was almost out of brown bricks/plates and black tiles. So I'll have to wait a bit for the BL order to arrive before I can start. I'll also do the ship in a dark-red/black scheme as CGH. That color combination has been on my mind for a while now and it will work very well for a French frigate I think. -
Captain Green Hair, one of the best all time ship builders, is building a new frigate and shares detailed pictures of every step he adds. This means you can just follow the master's lead and build your own awesome frigate. If you like to participate, now is your chance. Go here for all details (part list, etc...) and get started. Enjoy!

What do you want to see in the next round of the new line?
Bonaparte replied to martinsuper's topic in LEGO Pirates
Please continue to share your wishes for the future of the LEGO Pirates theme in this thread. -
In the past, members have shared their hopes and dreams for the future Pirates LEGO sets in threads like What do you want to see in the next round of the new line? However, in the past we didn't have a LEGO Ambassador so the likelihood of your feedback reaching the LEGO Group was small. But that has changed and I will summarize all the suggestions and wishes submitted in the old thread (which is now closed) along with any new ideas presented in this thread. Share your desires for the future of the LEGO Pirates theme and this time your feedback will be delivered to the LEGO Community Team! Please note there is no guarentee your ideas will be used and you will not be credited or receive any recognition if they are. But this is YOUR opportunity to shape the future of the LEGO Pirate theme so make the most of it! You have the month of August to be heard! After that this thread may be closed and never open again. I wouldn't be too sure of that. The design is indeed clean and efficient with a solid color scheme. I don't know much about trains (though I sit in one every day), but this looks like a very fine first entry to me.

Congratulations to the winners! I just had a look at the entries for the first time as the contest overlapped with my annual holidays. There are some very impressive ones! Thanks to Brickforge for donating the prizes. I just got a notification some of the items I was waiting to buy are restocked, so I'll be placing an order in your shop during this week.

I am shocked by this! Not so long ago I was standing next to this ship in Den Helder together with Captain Green Hair and Errorist. We couldn't go inside because the ship was not open that day. Now it seems I've lost my chance to visit it for good. Here are some of the pics I took from the ship during my visit:

AFOL Survey - July 2009 - send your feedback to the LEGO Group
Bonaparte replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
Thanks! The link to the survey also contains a special code so the LEGO Group knows exactly how many particaped via Classic-Pirates.com. So spread the word and do the survey -
From time to time, the LEGO Group is requesting AFOL Communities to answer an online questionnaire. This way they keep track on improvements and learn more about the community to work better together. Please take a few moments to fill the questionnaire. Your AFOL Survey It is very important for the LEGO Group to get as many answers as possible. The questionnaire is short, and won't take you more than two minutes. Thanks for your contribution! We have our first Classic-Pirates LEGO Ambassador!
Bonaparte replied to Zorro's topic in LEGO Pirates
Thanks all! Currently I am on holidays, but once back (beginning of August) I will start in full force! -
I never was at Brickworld (as I live in Europe), but next time I'm very much trying to go there. Great to see a topic about it already

Thanks, and you are most welcome here! Indeed, I couldn't have said it better and I'm sure BiM and Eurobricks.com have a lot to offer to each other! This is not about competing, being the best or any of that. This new place on our AFOL community offers the opportunity to brickfilmers to show their work to a broader audience of LEGO fans who might not yet be much aware of brickfilming today. And maybe some might like to try to make a brickfilm by themselves in the future seeing the work of others.

New BrickForge Products!
Bonaparte replied to Hound Knight's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I was about to place my order at Brickforge, but the Red Officer Plumes are currently out of stock. Since I really need those I'll wait till they are back. Btw, that scooter looks awesome! I'll get myself one, not because I'm into city, but it looks too good not to buy one. -
I've decided to use the new soldiers as marines on my English ships. For sure, when they are on their ships I leave away the backpack as they just wouldn't wear such a big packpack on a ship (no use). For short interventions on land a big backpack has also little use and the printed little bag can easily contain all they need (bullets, a bit of food and some water, ...). The larger backpack should be added for longer expeditions on land to store a blanket, food, ... . The fact that the new soldier has printing on the back makes no differences to me. So I would answer "sometimes" if that option was available in the poll :-)

The Eurobricks Reviewers Academy
Bonaparte replied to Bonaparte's topic in Forum Information and Help
Access granted to the both of you. Best of luck in the academy! -
The site will resize big pics, but your browser needs to load the big pics before they get resized. So that's not good. If a pic is too big it needs to be resized by you and stored on your Brickshelf account (or whatever you want to use). Then you can link to the resized pic.

Holy cow Amazing work. I love you did the ropes on the helmets. What kind of rope did you use for that? -

New BrickForge Products!
Bonaparte replied to Hound Knight's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Yes, you are right. I thought the last time I went to the BrickForge shop I didn't see it (must have overlooked it ) Tonight I'll be placing an order at Brickforge. I'll include several of the Hoplite Helmets (and plumes) and one of each for the new stuff (to check it out first hand). -
Why confused? I used to be a real Trekkie in my youth. I've seen every episode of The Next Generation many times, same for Voyager, DS9, the movies. I even speak some Klingon

Thanks My next ship will have a tan deck, but I still had a pile of old grey so I used in on this ship. No, it's not really functional. That would be a challenge to make. I'm looking forward to someone making the first functional rigging on Lego ship. I know some of the builders making a real minifig scale ship plan to have functional rigging. It's just sitting in my room and I look at it every day. I'm still don't want to change anything on the ship, so that's a good sign. I do plan to show it in the future during some Lego expositions (probably at Lego World next year). I wished I could show this ship (and some of the ones I'm working on) at BrickWorld, but that would be impossible (because of the transportation issue).
