Well Rupi, the paint doesn't wear off easily, as long as you give it at least 24h to dry before you touch it. It is important however not to use to much paint! This "eagle" (in a previous life a parrot) is another example (with gold paint):

Well, it looks like the eldorado fortress was sold for $67. Details at: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=300017700482 Isn't that rather cheap considering the instructions and the box are included?

You can count on me Mr. Phes. I will order Berthier (my chief of staff) to start collecting all the uniforms... Our great torso library will be alive in a few days! B.
-
Well Mr. Tiber, I can do any color you would like. Till now I only did chrome and gold on lego. I just imagined that a white hull would be more obvious than a chrome one ;-) Well, it took me some time before I found the right paint to use. But these paints from Model Master really give an excellent result. B.

Well, from now on I won't post any more brickshelf finds, only my own creations :-$ Can you remove this topic Mr Phes ? Tnx, B.

12d Has this beauty already been on display? More pics: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=163042 B.

Do you have any advice on using an airbrush? They look good, but do you have a close up picture of these? Well, here is a close up of a painted helmet: This is a picture of my airbrush: I think I could do a good job on the hull of a ship ... If someone wants to have a white hull, just ship it to me and I will give it a try :-)
-
Owkee, I will take care of that. B.

Sounds like a good starting point Mr Phes. I will do a search of all the MOCs to get the links to all custom stickers and torso's already present. Shall I make a new Topic (you mean this when you say "thread"?) in the "Pirate LEGO MOCs" forum or in the "LEGO Pirates" forum ? Does the name "LIBRARY stickers/torso" sound ok? B.
-
Well, i really like your town. It nice to see how it grows every year. The train really adds a lot to it.

Well, I just took a look in the Pirate LEGO Directory for the first time. I didn't really check it before till you told me. Maybe I can start by making a new topic in the Pirate LEGO MOCs which contains links to all the stickers and torso's that have already been posted here in the past? This way we have already some kind of an inventory and a place to post new designs. I love the idea! I have some more to share soon. I have just finished some to be proud of, and I'm always ready for ideas from others. Well, I can't wait to see your new designs Sir ScottLego. Your admiral is standing proudly on my flagship. I also love the designs of Admiral Matthew. I'm still working on an improved version of his British captain. B.

Well, I think it is OK to paint lego. I do it myself with my airbrush. It is important for me that you can't really notice that something has been painted however :-) So it should be done really well. All these chrome helmets have been painted because the black ones are much cheaper on BL:

I hope to get a new digital camera in a few days. Then I will start a new topic where I will post at regular times some pictures of the WIP. My ship will be a lot different from the one in the picture. I'm working with 5 mid sections for the hull and I think the ship will have about 18 guns on the lower deck (9 on each side). The hull of the ship will be brown and the rest shall be black with one red line in it. The rest I'm figgering out while I build it. I don't have a complete picture in my head yet. Well, I don't put too much time pressure. It would be good if I can get it finished before the end of the year :-). I never destroy one of my creations when I build it so I want it to be really good. B. Ah Mr. Phes, I'm planning to use the bricks that you suggested. I will buy some red and black ones on BL (as soon as I know howmuch I need).

Won't happen again. Sorry Mr TIBER ;-) . B.

Does anyone find it a good idea to have a "pinned" topic with links to all pirate related MOC stickers/torso designs? Examples: All french, english, spanish naval uniforms, pirates uniforms, ..... For having a good overview, this could be sub-topics. We could build a library with all MOC uniforms that can easily by searched. This way we can all re-use each others designs and just print ... Now, a lot of torso designs are spread around in the MOC forum without a clear overview of whats available. We can also add a tutorial section. Here we can put some ideas on how to make more complex designs. Maybe an example: http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...?showtopic=6054 (not really a pirate, but just to give an idea of what i mean). Let me know what you think ... B. Edit (17/09/2006): The library is available here.

Well, the hull of the Skulls Eye Schooner just contains some red: I like the ship of Mr. Timber, but I want to make the red less dominant in my design. I have a lot of bricks, but will eventually have to buy some special parts on BL...
-
Thanks Mr Timber, i missed it indeed. Well, i took apart my Skull's Eye Schooner to make a MOC starting from the hull. I just started yesterday and i'm just trying out some colors. Will need to order some parts from BL too. I hope to post images of my progress on the forum to get some early feedback. However, I broke my camera yesterday... hope it gets fixed soon. B.

Found this ship on brickshelf: The main reason why I post it, is because I'm building a ship in the same color schema (Red and Black). Because I'm using the hull of my Schooner, I'm force to use the red. I'm very interested in your opinions. The rest of the pics can be found at http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=200172 B.

This ship looks great. I'm just building a ship with about the same color schema (red/black/(white)). Now I can get an idea of the result. Great find!
-
I like the ship but agree with Mr. Timber that the cabin is too big. I wonder if it is wise to put guns at such a high position??

So, modern military lego is out of the picture...

How does one become a lego ambassador ? B. -
Too white? Too different from Lego sails? A few of my older vessels use stiffened calico sails - do you think that looks better? (They certainly can have a nicer shape, but they do tend to droop a bit after a while). (Excuse the old camera) (That's the original Mis

Hello Richie, I did't realise till now you are the owner of Port Brique. Well, I love your site and your army. I actually have it bookmarked! Great to have you here. Well, the ship looks really good. I like the colors you used. I also use paint on lego (use the paintbrush that I have for model-building). But till now I only used it on small parts (minifig helmet, small animals,...). B.

A good and free program to resize pictures can be downloaded from http://www.irfanview.com/ . The good thing about it (besides that its freeware) is that it can resize pictures in a batch. Meaning that you can just take your picts and resize them all at once. This way you can leave your camera at the standard size and resolution. Well, I also like the ship :-). Does the captain have a custom torso? I've never seen this before and it looks very good. B.

I would never have guessed that you did the painting manually. I'm so used to my computer that I forget there are also other ways to get a great result. Knowing this, I appreciate it even more. Nice job. B.
