That's strange indeed, on the Pirate Ambush box (on BL), this fig is show with the belt. Check this ... Does anyone own this set so he can check what figs are in it? The torso's are both in the pirate torso library under the "official pirates". Maybe after this discussion I might have to move one to the "custom" section :-).

ahum, I consider the creation of a decal as a very creative activity ... But I love these figs ;-) and I'm also a fan of the afro-man (was his hear not a non-lego part??).

building not 0 or 90deg on baseplate. Snor?
Bonaparte replied to Tordenskjold's topic in Pirate MOCs
Interesting stuff! I would indeed be a good idea to have some special thread on the EB formum that has an overview of special building techniques like these. B. -
You're absolutely right. We need some on our ships. Here is my black captain who is a former slave that wants to take revenge... I already have some mamelukes in my army.

If lego won't make romans, then we can just make them ourselves. I found a great roman torso on brickshelf from AdmMatthew. I couldn't resist putting it in the pirate torso library under the "others-section". This is the result after printing it:

Good idea! I will added them to the library soon.

So I thought I'd upgrade one of my Eldorado Fortresses
Bonaparte replied to Landlubber's topic in Pirate MOCs
I agree with the red roof on the governor's quarters. Would make it even better. -
So I thought I'd upgrade one of my Eldorado Fortresses
Bonaparte replied to Landlubber's topic in Pirate MOCs
Wooooow. Thats a very beautiful fortress. It is in my top 5 of the fortresses on the forum for sure. The river baseplates are a good idea, the colors are great. I also like the hallway (it that a correct word?) between the 2 buildings. Don't give me your address or I'll come and steal it :-) Just needs some details like a flag, some cannons, ... -
Is this the one you are talking about oo7? I just added it. With all these contributions the library is growing quite well. We already have 117 high quality torso's in the library. And I still have to add the ones from Sir Scott! So we can already say that this IS the biggest pirate torso library on the internet.

Play with Lego or Build with Lego
Bonaparte replied to SirScottLego's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Since Sir Scott is building (or... playing with) pirate ships, this might still be a pirate specific topic :-). I don't make sounds when I'm building something but my fantasy keeps on creating stories around what I making (even when it's a custom minifig). Just can't stop it.... -
Is it possible to resize an image in a thread?
Bonaparte replied to Bonaparte's topic in Forum Information and Help
I have coreldraw 12 (use it to design my torso's, ...). And I know it can export to .jpg format with coreldraw. For resizing images I use Corel Paint Shop Pro X or Irfanview. BUT.... the question is: Can I display a big image in a smaller format in the forum (without touching the .jpg in any way)? This is possible in html (command is in the beginning of this thread) and I hoped there would be a similar command to do that in the forum. -
FYI = For Your Information

Looks great. I like to overall look of the ship, the line and the colors. The stern is really perfect. This is the best part of the ship. I have seen the use of elektrical tape before (we initialy thought is was paint) in this thread. It still needs a crew of those cool pirates you created...

Thanks a lot SirLegoScott for sharing you beautiful designs in our library. I will put the links in the top-section soon. But I don't see the POTC torso's. Do you have have a link to them also? I mean this ones: Barbosa Gibbs Jack Sparrow with hat Jack Sparrow with Red hat Cursed Jack Sparrow

Last of today's Custom Minifigs
Bonaparte replied to SirScottLego's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Strange that the torso designs are still not public on brickshelf (This folder is not yet public). Is it normal that it takes so much time? -
Last of today's Custom Minifigs
Bonaparte replied to SirScottLego's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Just added a clone of this guy in the torso library today. Didn't know he was so expensive. After reading this, I searched for mine and put it safely on my desk :-) -
Thanks Mr Phes! Maybe I can get a pirate rank in november *pirate* ?
-
I have just added a bunch of official pirate torso's to the library. I agree with Mr Phes that all official pirate torso's should be in the library in the near future. Captain Roger, can you have a look at the ones I added. Which one would you really like to have that isn't yet there?

This is a beautiful MOC. I love all the details that are in it. If this would be an official lego set, I would buy it for sure!

Blackbeard, Bloodheart and small crew minifig customs
Bonaparte replied to SirScottLego's topic in Pirate MOCs
I would also be interested to know which printer model you used. I have a HP Deskjet 5440 and it just can't match the red from lego. At work we have a more expensive printer from HP (also a deskjet) but with the same problem. Maybe I need a laserprinter? -
Thats a nice ship. Has some great details (that I can use for my ship :-)). Just 2 remarks: The cabin is a bit high and too much colors.

Last of today's Custom Minifigs
Bonaparte replied to SirScottLego's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I think it is still a bit to early to make a separate subform Mr Phes. Afraid some visibility will be lost ... and they are MOCs after all :-). I think that people will be inspired by the great work of SirLegoScott and try to make some torso designs themselves. -
That's a lot of new figs you created. They look great and will make a excelent addition to the torso library!!!! I think I will steal some of your ideas for one of my next torso's You will be the creator of about 50% of all pirate torsos *y* As soon as the torso's are on brickshelf I will put them all in the library. Can you make the resolution of the .jpg's high enough so we don't loose any quality (would be a pitty :-) ). Can't wait to print some and try them out.

Actually I think the US Monitor and CSS Viginia are the 2 first ironclads. For sure in the US (and civil war).
-
I didn't construct a new ironclad recently. I build the CSS Virginia a long time ago. And I have build the US Monitor about 5-6 years ago. But I have no good pictures of the US Monitor so I intend to make some soon and create another thread. But you are right about the fact that a lot of ironclads (especially from the C.S.A.) were originaly normal ships. The CSS Virginia was a steamer/sailship (US Merrimac) before it was burned by the Yankees. However, the hull of the ship was undamaged and the Confederates made it into the CSS Virginia. Since the hull was completely under water, the ship look like this once at sea: Manouvering such a heavy ship (with all the steel) was quite difficult.
