You are welcome to come over for a swim ;-) The mast might be a bit high, but my ship has to be fast if I ever meet one of your ships in battle (especially the one that you are currently constructing!). Good Idea, I'll put some cannons on the deck. It would be a good idea to make some new pictures of some of your ships. I've heard a rumor there will be a best ships ever election in the near future. Maybe not the best, but certainly one of the better. The scenery and buildings outside the castle make this MOC so good. And I like the gallery about the siege.

Very informative review! If I would buy this set, it would be for the minifigs that it contains. I fully agree. I prefered 2 real factions. I won't use these skellies unless I'm building a graveyard.

58c I finally finished my French frigate L'Orient and this is the result. Because a picture is worth a thousand words, here are 20 pictures of the ship. The sails are made out of paper and will probably stay like that because I'm too lazy to make them out of canvas. Let me know what you think... B.

Why am I not a town collector??? This set is soooo good. My favorite part is the transparent price list. You must have a huge collection Mr. Yoda. Not only you collect SW, but also all these nice city sets. Are you using them to build a town?

The Spanish navy was very active in the Napoleonic wars, so they would also be useful. Others are Portugal and Holland. But the most important (for me) are France and Britain. EDIT: I can't find any pictures of the uniforms of the Napoleonic navy and an overview of the ranks. Does anyone know a good site for this kind of info?

Yesterday these were OK, but these are linked to You Tube and there seems to be a problem from time to time. I've just uploaded them to my BS folder so that should fix the problem.

Well Mr. Cameron, let me start by welcoming you at our forum! Lego didn't focus too much on reality when they made the pirate-line. But the pieces of those sets make it possible for us to make realistic MOCs. The imperial guards and imperial soldiers however look very realist to me. These figs are very detailed with a shako, epaulettes, backpack. But the question was "reality vs. playability, which should Lego have focused on more?"... I'm happy with how they did it. There is a good balance between reality and playability.

Now that you mention naval uniforms, I wonder if Mr. Mosana would be interested in making some for the factions of the Napoleonic wars. He already have a Nelson but no midshipman, lieutenant, captain, ...
