  1. Very cool looking, well done with the mods ;)
  2. I don't own any XL motors so I can not be sure but that does not sound good.
  3. Thanks. Yes that is something I need to work on ;)
  4. I have just built a basic camera mount for my LEGO Technic Unimog U400 (set 8110), this allows me to mount my digital camera to make videos of it driving around. More photos and a video can be found on my blog: http://paulstechnic.blogspot.com.au/2014/08/lego-technic-8110-unimog-u400-camera.html
  5. Some new blog posts: http://paulstechnic.blogspot.com.au/2014/08/lego-technic-set-42006-b-model-mod-log.html http://paulstechnic.blogspot.com.au/2014/08/lego-technic-set-42006-b-model-mini.html http://paulstechnic.blogspot.com.au/p/how-i-made-my-life-awesome-video.html
  6. Thanks for the suggestion, I may try making that change.
  7. Following on from my mini building review of set 42006 B model farm tractor (http://paulstechnic.blogspot.com.au/2014/08/lego-technic-set-42006-b-model-mini.html) where I noted that I was not very happy with the rear plough attachment, I have spent about three hours over the past two nights designing and building a new rear attachment, this is a log grabber. This uses the same mounting points as the original plough attachment, it also uses only the spare parts left over after pulling the plough to pieces, I did have to cheat and use a mini-LA as the full size one was just too big. Overall I am very happy with how this has turned out and I think it is a big improvement on the standard plough attachment. More photos and a video can be found on my blog: http://paulstechnic.blogspot.com.au/2014/08/lego-technic-set-42006-b-model-mod-log.html
  8. I have just published on my blog my mini review of LEGO Technic set 42006 B model - Farm Tractor. http://paulstechnic.blogspot.com.au/2014/08/lego-technic-set-42006-b-model-mini.html
  9. That looks good, I am just in the process of building something like this to use with my digital camera on top of the Unimog.
  10. I agree with the above suggestion :)
  11. Who wants to share a photo of yourself with your LEGO? Here is mine:
  12. This is a video of how LEGO (and other things) helped me in some of the hard times in my life. I was able to overcome this to become the person I wanted to be with the life I wanted to have. Please share it far and wide; we need to get the message out that life does get better :) http://paulstechnic.blogspot.com.au/p/how-i-made-my-life-awesome-video.html
  13. I have recently modified my LEGO Technic Unimog U400 (Set 8110) with Power Functions remote control for driving and steering. I have now published on my blog a write up of this with photos and a video of this process and it in action: http://paulstechnic.blogspot.com.au/2014/08/mod-unimog-u400-power-functions-remote.html
  14. Very cool, sadly none of them appeal to me at all :(
  15. I sent a suggestion last week to have my blog added, it is not appearing as yet, what is the time frame for this?
  16. I have just published on my blog the latest attachment I have designed and built for LEGO Technic set 8110 (Unimog U400). This is a wood splitter which uses both the PTO and PPTO. Photos and a video of it in use can be found at the link below: http://paulstechnic.blogspot.com.au/2014/07/unimog-u400-attachment-wood-splitter.html
  17. I have just created a survey for my blog, this will help me to improve my blog and find out more about why people access it, please take a couple of minutes to fill it out: http://paulstechnic.blogspot.com.au/2014/07/survey-for-my-blog.html
  18. I guess from my point of view a few reasons: - It was the largest Technic set ever until the latest crane came out. - It has a number of features and functions which people (both LEGO and non LEGO) can understand and enjoy watching / using. - It stands out and looks really good on display. - For me I really enjoy using it as a base for designing and building my own attachments and changing features, something that few other sets can do. I have a few posts on my blog about it, including some attachments I have designed and built, I have another one to add very soon :) Link in my signature below ;)
  19. I use these in my Unimog: http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=SB1750&form=CAT2&SUBCATID=997#12
  20. Thanks :), it is good to know people like reading my blog :)
