  1. I haven't bought a Ninjago set...yet, but I'm kinda sad to see it ending. That said, Hero Factory's case made me optmistic. When Lego decides to end a line, most of the time its replacement turns out to be even better. So, I'm very excited to see what this Ninjago replacement is gonna be about.
  2. Eh, no. Why would they remold the 2010 helms to make them compatible with 2.0 heads?
  3. Aaargh, I can't see the pics on my phone for some reason! I'm going to save them once I get home. By the way, I got Hulk today. I haven't built him yet, but I can say the chestplate is gorgeous. EDIT: Aww, I excepted/hoped for alternative poses. That said, these pics are huuuge and pretty, I'm saving them anyway.
  4. Boosters? That is pretty cool, haven't thought of it. But I fear they might be too big for that purpose- have you seen the SD-SXL combiner's chest? With the wings and all, they might be wider than the new chest armour BP, Core Hunter and a few Ultrabuild Super Heroes use. As for heads, yup. Another good idea. I hope we see more of these pieces in 2013.
  5. If you mean set/MOCing wise, yeah they've got lots of potential. It looks like they can attached to any type of shell, and they can be attached in any part of the body. Heck, the combiner uses the lilac drone from SD's bike as chest armour. I'm sure they can be used as some type of jetpack too, they seem pretty big. If you mean story-wise, I guess they can be reused with a simple story justification. Look at 2011 Nex 3.0 paws, who have become part of Thonraxx's and Bulk's armour. Or the multiuse Fire Villain claws and engine shells. And look at all the story roles zamors went under, starting in 2006 Bionicle an then continuing through HF. Overall a very cool new piece. Summer 2012 is overloaded with cool new pieces actually.
  6. I like those pieces, but the concept of scout drones, while cool, doesn't offer much playability. I prefer to think those are part of Srormer's armour (and I think everyone thought that until the TV episode), and he fights Speeda using the blasters mounted on his bike.As for Bulk's back, I'm doing something a la Iron Man- revamping the lame weapon connection and giving him a back armour in the process.
  7. Excellent work, vexorian. Look! Stormer has a dark bley torso!
  8. I say, Voltix's sole problems are not enough purple parts (easy to solve: replace the red 5M shells on his lower legs with the lilac 6M ones from Joker), the lack of hands and those pesky black feet. Aside from that, his colour scheme is nowhere as cluttered as people make it to be- actually, it's better organized than many sets this year. Whoops, wrong text colour.
  9. Silver was also my idea after wtaching the Breakout episode, the problem is that he has no silver at all in his colour scheme.
  10. Bulk and Voltix have black feet? Didn't realize that until now! I guess I'll have to order 4 titanium metallic feet off PaB. Too bad, I'm getting an extra Voltix for parts and I wouldn't have minded 2 more feet in that colour since they are quite rare. Now I'll have to buy 4 of them, and they just became even rarer (you can find them only on Breakout Evo and Splitface, as you know). Wait, Voltix has a black foot on the back right? Scratch that, I may need 5 gunmetal feet instead. The 6M shells..that's exactly what I plan to do! And don't forget hands- poor Voltix needs them, I'm thinking in red (though gunmetal hands would probably have been even better).
  11. I never thought that day would've come, but I say we need (along blue, gotta agree on that)..more silver. We got silver cladding in all existing sizes (minus the 2.0 shoulder armour and 6M shells), and 2011 featured a fair amount of it. By 2012, however, it has become extremely rare- this year, the only sets to feature silver cladding are Jawblade and Furno! Bulk, HF's poster boy for silver, has only the helmet, the hands and the MTIS in his main colour. He has some cool orange and gold accents, and then he is covered in gunmetal. And speaking of gunmetal, that one has become way overused- the sole 2012 sets to not feature at least one titanium metallic piece are Breez, Furno, Toxic Reapa and Jawblade. Every single summer set has some gunmetal in it- heck, even Stormer (plasma gun) and Stringer (shoulder armour). I love titanium metallic, but this is just ridiculous.
  12. Toxic Reapa body style...really, Lego? I would've much preferred the possibility to choose for narrow shoulders and short Evo/Stormer/Surge style arms, I can't be the only one who thinks so. That said, the new style is pretty good, though there are some problems: you can't change the cladding orientation (which is one of the coolest things of the 2.0 building style IMO), some colours are missing (silver and lilac, what happened to you guys?), you can put the MTIS on the left arm only, also the page (on Chrome at least) takes up a LOT of memory. Aaand, I miss the "factory" sounds the old program made.
  13. Well, the blades of his Core Remover Tool are gunmetal too, so it's not a big issue, I think. But yeah, I wouldn't have minded a black plasma gun half, be it bottom or top. I guess we'll have to wait for 2013 sets for that..that is, if they keep using the new gun, which I strongly hope for- but I'm optimist, since HF doesn't churn out new launcher weapons every year like BIONICLE did (thank God). CH's biggest aestetichs problems, IMO, are the out of place spikes/fins on the weapons and that awfully short left arm. I'm thinking of making the Core Remover a wrist mounted weapon, like on Nex 3.0.
  14. If it's just live action: If it involves humans: @DarkSurgeXL: Good work, but those links don't seem to work.. 15. Just tried it, and I have to say it does surpass mine- and not only because the shell is pushed less forward: this method uses the ooo liftarm, which a much less rare part compared to the 2 +o pieces my technique uses. You nephew has done a great job! EDIT: One problem though- the MTIS does move a bit, since it techincally is held by only one pin. Still, it's good idea and it's easy to find those pieces.
  16. I'm like you, but the opposite when it comes to minifigs. I like how the good guys look, but I don't think I'd have a use for them. On the other hand, I'm very intrigued by the Serpentine (that's how they are called, right?). I didn't like Lord Garmadon and his undead soldiers that much, but I've been wanting reptilian people for a while, and these guys go beyond my expectations. I didn't except Lego would pull off such a variety of minifigs! The whole "5 tribes" (well, 4 tribes and 1 guy ) thing is a great vehicle for variety. Actually, I think these guys are the most varied non human bad guys group Lego has made, at least in recent times. Fixed the grammar, I was in a hurry yesterday. Man, so many typos. :P
  17. Another cool one, though not as clever as Arnold Stronghold. I'm liking that use of the red Matoro Mahri claws quite a lot, however!
  18. Multi Tool Ice Shield. It's apparently the official name of the shield piece. I guess that problem is restricted to the 2.0 torso, indeed the gunmetal "Jetbug jetpack" piece is slightly narrower so I guess it doesn't hit the liftarm. Same goes for the Breakout torso, to a slightly lesser extent.
  19. Very nice! I like the colours you chose, and the skeleton is well put together. I'd make the legs slightly longer however..
  20. Thanks, glad you like it! That Hero of yours looks pretty cool too. The only problem with my solution is that the 2.0 torso plate is slightly pushed and tilted towards behind (I suck at explaining this stuff even in Italian ) since it hits the +o liftarm. This doesn't damage the piece at all however, and it's far less noticeable if you use a Breakout torso plate (totally unrelated- Stormer 2.0 looks good with it- I badly want a silver version of that piece in 2013). That said, I like how the MTIS and the 2.0 style armour work together, but 1.0/2.0 feet work much better with Breakout torsos IMO.
  21. Nope, just the torso plate is. Those 3M shells are regular solid blue. I wish we had some tr.(light?) blue cladding- Stormer XL had it in the show, got my hopes up.
  22. Hmmm, lately I've been wondering when these sets are going to come out. LOTR, Monster Fighters and Ninjago have begun popping up for more than a week by now. Also, lately I've found myself really eager to get Nex. It's that I love orange+white, plus his chestplate and helmet are great.
  23. Whoops, we really went OT didn't we. Anyway, I really like Gatanui's method DOTM posted. I knew those Metru chestplates would've become useful for HF someday!
  24. Since back armour seems to be the hot topic now, might as well post my idea I used on my Stormer 2.0. http://www.majhost.com/gallery/shadow/Randomness/1.jpg http://www.majhost.com/gallery/shadow/Randomness/2.jpg http://www.majhost.com/gallery/shadow/Randomness/3.jpg I apologize for the pictures, don't have time to rotate them right now. And I also apologize for the trauma the sight of my fingers might cause.
  25. I'm liking the idea of using that new piece from Stormer's lower legs to attach a 2.0 torso shell. But for now, I'm happy with using feet as back armour- I gave them to Surge, Evo and Furno, and I plan to do the same with Stringer and Nex. I don't know what Bulk's going to use, but I don't care since I've already built a revamp of his shoulder mounted weapon attachment (and therefore of his back armour).
