@ Zblj: Recall Itchy4000's Lego Technic Osprey aircraft ( ) -- perhaps your Lego powered Hang Glider could go 'round and 'round on a circular path (WITHOUT a counterweight), and then go airborne. The string tether would then go "slack" to prove that it can generate continuous lift for sustained flight. The tether would keep the aircraft within range of your Power Functions infrared signals....

Help to make 4000001 in LDD please
DLuders replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
OK. I volunteer to make the LDD .lxf file. However, I'm wondering why your friend needs it if he has the HTML Building Guide. Are you and he in a hurry for the .lxf file? Too bad that F'Alves didn't post his .lxf file anywhere.... -
Help to make 4000001 in LDD please

@ The 4000001 Mounding Machines set doesn't look too bad to model in LDD: SI-MOCs also wrote this detailed Eurobricks review of that Moulding Machine #4000001 set: F. Alves' LDD HTLM Building Guide instructions of both 4000001 modules look good: -
@ Alasdair Ryan: I'm not sure what you mean by saying to "get rid if the first plat step on the bonnet." Which layer on the bonnet (hood) are you talking about? I tried using hinge plates instead of bricks for the roof pillars, but they did not fit and looked awful. The pictures of Crist Clapper's real Jeep are taken too close to the vehicle, so they appear distorted (with a "fisheye lens"-type effect). Note that the house in Crist Clapper's photo above does not have a vertical corner.

So far, here is the 1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer modeled in LDD and rendered using the LDD2PovRay program. I have not placed any interior seats or dashboard instruments in it yet, because I wanted to ensure that the outer PROPORTIONS of the Jeep were correct. I used the Griddy program to superimpose a brick grid over the photos of Crist Clapper's real vehicle. What do you think? Here is a link to the LDD .lxf file (Work In Progress).

Today I went to the FIRST Lego League Spokane Regional Qualifier at Eastern Washington University in Cheney, WA USA. There were 21 teams of 9-16 year old Robotics fans, and they liked seeing various YouTube videos and Product Information about the upcoming Lego Mindstorms EV3 set. Almost all of them had not heard about it yet, and watched ~25 minutes' worth of HD videos in a continuous loop on my computer:

[MOC] The Black Mamba GT
DLuders replied to rm8's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@ shadowhearth: You will also need one of the "Electric, Wire with Brick 2 x 2 x 2/3 Pair" items listed at the bottom of this Bricklink catalog page (you pick the length you want). The 8886 "Power Functions Extension Wire" (first picture below) can be mixed with the old-style 5306b "Electric, Wire with Brick 2 x 2 x 2/3 Pair" (second picture below). The old-style 2x2 electric plate fits on the UNDERSIDE of the new PF-style electric plate on the PF Extension Wire. -
[MOC] The Black Mamba GT
DLuders replied to rm8's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@ shadowhearth: Yes, you can use that combination of parts. rm8 used the 8878 Power Functions Rechargeable Battery Box (to save weight), but you could also use the 88000 AAA PF Battery Box instead. See this Eurobricks topic to see what the differences are between the two. The PF v2 Receiver will allow the current-hungry Lego RC motor to operate. There really isn't much difference between using a PF Medium motor (with return-to-center steering) or a PF Servo Motor. You won't need to buy the entire Lego RC Buggy set; if you can just get the RC motor, that will do nicely! You will also need a 8886 PF Extension Wire; see this Eurobricks post for details. -

DLuders replied to Hopey's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@ shadowhearth: rm8's "The Black Mamba GT" model is described on this Eurobricks topic. Note that he used the Power Functions v2 Receiver. So as not to "hijack" Hopey's topic anymore, recommend that you continue the Black Mamba discussion there. -
42006 b model
DLuders replied to DarkShadow73's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@ bb15080: The 2-booklet PDF Building Instructions for the 42006-2 "Tracked Tractor" (B-Model) does work on that Technic.Lego.com webpage, but you have to do this: 1) Click on the second or third lines in the dropdown menu 2) Click on the obscure, dark "Download" word below the white download box. The black lettering on the dark grey background makes it hard to see. -
@ desaibricks73: Welcome to Eurobricks! It isn't that hard to melt the ABS minifig head (using the technique in the original post), but you will have to force the hot plastic "goo" into a mold by either using pliars or other tools. I have a feeling the results will be unsatisfactory, since the reformed head must still attach onto the minifig torso.

@ Sariel: Thanks for taking the time to prepare the EXCELLENT building instructions for your Lego Technic Mercedes 540K ! Now we can all "ride in style"!

@ jonwil: Legolijntje posted a link on this Eurobricks post: "You can get all kinds of information by downloaded the product sheets on this Lego Education page. The products with lego technic parts also have parts lists." Specifically, the EV3's Parts Lists (with Lego Element IDs) are shown on the 45544 EV3 Core Set Product Sheet and the 45444 EV3 Expansion Set Product Sheet.

V2 IR Sensor
DLuders replied to RideFire's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@ Mordalak: Welcome to Eurobricks! Although I'm an American, I "pretended" I lived in Canada by doing a "Change Region" move on the top-right corner of this Lego 8884 webpage: http://shop.lego.com/en-CA/LEGO-Power-Functions-IR-Receiver-8884 . The 8884 Lego Power Functions Infrared Receiver is indeed "Available Now" for CAD $18.99. -

Alpha Rex 2.0
DLuders replied to Winston Cooper's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@ crakdown: Welcome to Eurobricks! I just uploaded legolijntje's 51.5-MB ZIP file of the Lego 8547 Mindstorms NXT 2.0 Instructions onto SkyDrive here. He wrote this in his "ReadMe.txt" file: "This are PDF's of the original instructions from the CD that came with NXT 2.0. ONLY FOR PERSONAL USAGE!!! Important: Every model has PDF instructions and 4 programs to upload to your NXT. Number 4 of every program is the most complex and is used as the "final program"....I hope you like this :) Legolijntje on EuroBricks and other websites" -
@ Scorpion: You should read Conchas' extensive TechnicBRICKS article about the EV3 , where he wrote: "You may have read above, that the Eduction Kit comes with a Ball Wheel or (Caster Ball). Guess it might be the 92911 Technic Steering Ball Joint Large Receptacle with a stainless steel sphere inside as seen in the image below".
