I've used regular fishing wire to hang the Sopwith Camel from the roof of my sons room. It's not a light model and has been hanging there fine for about 6 months now with no damage or scratches to bricks camel by slobey79, on Flickr

Hi all, time for a small update: I haven't done much for a while as I have been busy with some non-Lego projects and waiting on Bricklink orders to arrive... I had Nori's torso and arm from a Hobbit set crack quite badly. I was able to order a replacement but only after I sent through the number on my instructions as Proof of Purchase

It's funny you mention Macaulay's book because that is the main inspiration behind my Moc! I'm trying to go for realism as much as the brick will allow ie. Thicker walls at lower levels and hopefully incorperating all aspects of a working castle...

Thanks for the feedback guys, it will be a slow process I think To a point, I'm trying to build it so if I do have to move it it will require minimal dismantling and rebuilding.

Hi all, I thought I'd share a WIP moc I have on the go... I've been planning and amassing bricks for about a year now and have finally started the build. It will eventually be a concentric castle with 4 corner towers of approx 45-55 bricks high as well as battlements running between at approx 30 bricks high. The build will be over 9 48x48 baseplates (3 wide by 3 deep). Inside the walls will include barracks, civilian residence, great hall and kitchens. I'm part of the way through the north west tower (gate house being on the south wall). A couple of old sets: 6080- Kings castle, 6040 Blacksmith shop, 6061 Siege tower (all joined together in the photo) all with boxes. also 6081- Kings mountain fortress and 6075 Wolfpack tower, trying to build my old school collection while I wait for new LotR sets to be released. I agree this is the set I will keep displayed along with Bag end while the others will be broken down for moc fodder not long after being bult

I have the feeling they may be trying to clear their inventory, good for us though :-)

It starts thursday 7th....

I'm inclined to think this is a young kid friendly line to keep the castle "seat" warm till Hobbit/LotR has run its course which will probably be the end of next year. Hopefully we will then see a castle line geared more toward older kids/afols...... I don't think this is as strong as kingdoms but it is no where near as bad as the Jellybean knights

I guess it's a case of third time unlucky. After two deliveries in sturdy cardboard my Barrel Escape set arrived from Mightyape.com today wrapped in brown paper and mashed IMG_0568 by slobey79, on Flickr I don't think this is acceptable from a reasonably large online business. I've emailed their customer department so we'll see what comes of it.......

I hope the treasure (or at least the coins) will be the chrome gold rather than pearl gold. The treasure chest the dragon is holding in the castle set seems tyo be chrome gold while the small ambush set has pearl gold by the looks of it Edit: Yay 100 posts! It's only taken me 6 and half years
