Buying LEGO from other countries on-line stores
Slobey replied to Siegfried's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Amazon. fr also have 15 euro off if you spend over 50 euro. Promotion ends today though. -
Just wondering what everyone's thoughts were on the EOL for the MMV? It can't be hanging around for too much longer, especially with the Kingdoms Joust being out for a while now. I'm trying to decide whether to pick up another copy before it comes to an end.

Is there any rhyme or reason as to what sets amazon fr will ship to Australia? I find it strange I can get modulars, MMV etc but not the sopwith camel which was one I was hoping to get cheap for myself...... -
I've seen those before didn't Lego make one about 10 yrs ago. We use the old babies blanket seen in the 1st pic. All you need to do is gather a few stray bricks, pick up the blanket, slide the Lego board under the table and the playroom is clear. My wife has threatened the girls( and me ;-) ) with the vacuum a few times so we've come up with this system and it works quite well

I noticed there didn't seem to be a thread that you could share your kids creations so I thought I'd start one up. Feel free to add to it! There's nothing better than sharing your hobby with your kids... Most Sunday afternoons- especially if the weather isn't that good- My 6 & & yr old daughters and I will build away. Here's couple of photos of their play area, complete with painted MDF board and "friends" inspired town layout. Each time they're getting more creative with the things they're making. Those with a keen eye may notice Gandalf patroling the borderlands to guard against any Megablock invasion

Target will have 2 weeks of 20% of LEGO starting Thursday 8th....... Advantages of doing a brochure round :-) -
Judging by my household I think they'll both continue to do well. I think friends have opened up a whole new market segment for LEGO: Parents and girls looking for poly pocket style toys and picking up friends instead. As much as I love LOTR it does have a narrow appeal in the LEGO market and is competing with the likes of Dino hunters, star wars, monster hunters for boys attention Despite my influence my 6 and 7 year old girls had little interest in LEGO till the friends line came along. Now you can barely keep them away from it and it has sharpened thier interest in other themes (including LOTR I might add after I read them the HOBBIT) As much as a lot of people dislike the friends line (insulting to girls blah blah blah) it will make TLG a lot of money which will make our hobby viable well into the future

That's a shame.... I found them really good: every email I sent was responded to within 24 hrs (obviously theres a 12hr time difference) and the refund they promised me was put back on my credit card within 5 days of my initial complaint -

I recieved another order from WB Shop the other day of 2 Hogwarts Castles which arrived in a standard lego packing box. Unfortunatly it had been crushed in transit resulting one of the boxes having a nasty tear in it: http://www.flickr.co...N07/8144366499/ I emailed to complain and they promptly replied and after some tooing and froing they offered me a further 15% off which I took since I kept this set for myself. -

I had my second WB SHop order arrive today without a hitch. Everything was packed well and arrived 3 days after I was notified of it shipping. i received my first Barnes and Noble delivery today too and while shipping took longer the sets were in good condition. As far as buying sets to onsell, if I can buy bulk sets and sell to other Australians for less than they pay locally while making a small profit I see that as a win/win. Don't forget that we have to wear the cost if an order gets lost or damaged. Just Sayin............ -

That's concerning, ive ordered a fair bit in the last week. Let us know how it plays out. Has anyone else had an experience with wbshop good or bad? -
Hi All, I've been a member from Western Australia, I've been on here for a while and don't post to much. I've recently come out of an extended dark age thanks to LOTR and my daughters interest in the friends line. I'm not a set collector as such and I'm slowly building up my collection of bricks again so I can do some MOCing Anyway good to be back...... Slobey

How have people being finding B&N lately? I've yet to place an order with them and the posts about damaged packaging concerns me ( I order 5, sell 4 at below rrp and the remaining set is mine for effectivly nothing so damaged boxes isn't really an option for me). WBShop seems good with $20 flat international postage (5-14 business days) I'll update everyone on the length of shipping time and condition of boxes when they arrive........ -
I don't know how you got that we'll be getting LOTR prelims in Dec from that forum thread...........
-
Thanks for the heads up. 5 x helms deep on its way :-)

Do you have info to back this up or are you just making your own conclusions?

Anyone seen this yet? http://www.thebricklife.com/happy-hobbit-day-60-days-until-lego-lotr-game/ I have a feeling we may get some pics tomorrow as lego seem to be making a big deal of "hobbit day"

EB Games is Australia doesn't have any mention of the Elrond fig...Hopefully they will still offer them
-
I'm reserving judgement on that till I've seen all 3 movies. If it means we see more backstory ie. the white council vs the Necromancer then I aprove And 3 movies means more sets hopefully.......

Unreal....... Both realisticly achievable as a Lego set and on a scale that would please most AFOLs. Well done!!!

By the look of the figures we've seen it looks like TLG is doing their best to replicate the dwarves signature weapons. I'm looking forward to seeing how they approach Fili's double blades and Bifur's scyth..........
