  1. Hi guys, what's the general consensus on how long this set will be around? It's on my "to get" list but I'm not sure how long it will be around for. Thoughts?
  2. Love it. You have to look twice at the action shot to realise it's lego and that's the highest compliment I can give :-)
  3. Me: Town Hall Modular Miss 9: PR modular Miss 8: PC Modular Master 4: AT-AT & Snowspeeder
  4. A big plastic tub and an old double bed sheet. Lego goes on bedsheets when being played with and bedsheets with lego inside goes into the tub when not in use. I've got 3 kids aged 3-9 and have tried all sorts of methods and this is easily the best way......
  5. My 4 yr old is at the age where he cant build his own sets but sure loves playing with them. I always have to put bits back on that he breaks but he is slowly repairing his own damage that I used to have to do. I think it's just a natural progression for children and I think the key is to not get frustrated yourself.........
  6. As a father of 2 lego loving girls (and 1 boy), people really need to get over it.......now...... My girls love MOCing with the pile of bricks we have but also love friends and Disney princess sets. I think it's time we stop expecting our kids to grow up in a gender neutral world and let them embrace being who they are. Just because they play with "girl" toys doesn't mean they will grow up to be accepting of gender inequality. Give kids a break
  7. Probably this guy, when I was about 3 or 4 yrs old. My dad is a builder/ carpenter and it started a lifelong love of Lego and building as my profession
  8. David jones 20% off lego till tomorrow night. Fairground mixer and palace cinema for $159.99 each delivered before Christmas...
  9. Target has Lego for 20% off including AA with free delivery till tonight. http://www.target.com.au/p/lego-reg-super-heroes-batman-arkham-asylum-breakout/53867810
  10. I don't try but this is my current backlog mainly due to A) not enough spare time B) spare time spent building MOCs C) all my display space taken up by said MOCs. Backlog by slobey79, on Flickr
  11. Nope, I'm relatively new to collecting Star Wars sets and apart from the Rebels set for my son I'm pretty much sticking to OT
  12. I think a lot of the big retailers wont even stock this wave. I know pretty much every Big W, Target and K mart in my area only ever had the smallest set from the last movie.... DJs, Toyworld and Myer had them that was about it
  13. Do TRU generally do the BOGO offer every year? Any other stores do a similar offer?
  14. Not sure what state you're in but WA has the Hobbit sets apart from the largest one in TRU and Toyworlds so I'm assuming other states would have the same. Very few of the larger chains tended to stock much of the last wave anyway....
  15. The check out didn't pick up the sale on the MTT with the BOGHO today so double check your offers are stacking if you take advantage of the TRU offer..........
  16. Is the TRU deal only on selected sets? The Star Wars Star Destroyer and AT-AT aren't on the promo section of their website.... Edit: It IS on all sets.I assume existing discounts will stack as well.......
  17. TRU has a few Hobbit sets. I saw the new laketown set in there yesterday.......
  18. I bought 9493 X-wing and Rancor pit from S@H before they disappear. Also got 7879 Hoth Echo base from eBay
  19. Hi Guys, I'm chasing OT Star Wars sealed sets and am willing to trade the following sealed sets: 79003- Unexpected gathering 10237- Tower of Orthanc Good Morning Bilbo Polybag Target Exclusive Blue Coat Bilbo Elrond Polybag Obviously I would expect like for like for current sets (ie 79003 for current x-wing) and I'm not interested in PT/clone wars sets. I live in Perth WA any reasonable offer will be considered.
  20. If you're getting cracks in your hobbit figures, report it to lego and you will get a replacement. Being licensed figures they will require you to jump through a few hoops - I think I had to provide the unique code from my Goblin King Battle box to get a replacement torso for Nori. I've heard that if you do it several times, they tend to ignore you (even if it is legit...)
  21. I really like the Phantom (and the Ghost) they look and feel.....fun- for want of a better word. The only thing I dislike about the Phatom is that you can't fit Hera (or Zeb, or any figure with anything other than hair for that matter) and close the cockpit which my 4 yr old son wasn't happy about after watching the latest Rebels episode.
  22. I have a fairly busy life with work and family and as boring as this sounds I will plan ahead to have a night for mocing or building a set I've got in advance around other commitments. It also helps me to use the rare night I have free for my hobby and not just sitting in front of the computer or TV. I will often buy sets only for their value to me as parts, failing that I order regularly from bricklink. I am fortunate to have a job (and awesome wife) to support my addiction One option is to buy sets, sell figures and you can get your bricks for next to nothing.
  23. Toyworld Balcatta (WA) have all the Hobbit sets except the largest one.
  24. Picked up The Phantom today. My 4 year old son is a fan of the new cartoon and his name is also Ezra so we thought we'd mod the figure so they look more alike ez by slobey79, on Flickr
  25. 1 box of the new CMF series sighted at Cannington TRU today. Had to grab some for my girls as they were a bit intimidated by the adult "smooshers" hard at work
