  1. Kai answered the three week question, places with VPs are cities, they automatically get 3 weeks. That was set forth in the first few weeks because it became evident that cities were going to be more valuable in VPs and critical to people's stories outside of the challenge. The discussion on this is in the rules thread. Kai, that would explain why I am missing counters... I was not checking that thread I will start doing so when I make the lists. I missed that L15 combo... IF UM fails to make the proper amount of approvals, then only BMS's will need to have a counter.
  2. Ok, let me reiterate, and I may have missed some of these -- but if the guerrilla is not posted in the Cat C thread, I am likely going to miss it. If the counter is not linked the Guerrilla's thread or at least in the Cat C thread, then I am likely going to miss it!!! I understand what you are saying Kai, but that only gives a GA four days to get its approvals. I suppose we could stretch it to when I make the thread, (although that would still mean you would have to build counters for possible non-approved builds) however, many of these Guerrilla's get their exposure from the thread because we have so many builds in GOH right now! Unless there are any more, I will probably start the official thread in a few hours.
  3. It is marked as leftover because the counter time is longer because it is a city. It was put up on last week's list too. I was just marking that this one was still on the board to be countered
  4. Please check my Guerrilla V. Counters for week 5 for errors.
  5. Same as last week, please check for accuracy, I will post the official poll tomorrow. VOTING: Anyone can vote! Voting closes April 6th Which side won? Which was the best counter build? Judging criteria: This is a straight one versus one contest. The challenger versus the best (in your opinion) counter build (if there are multiple counter builds). So judge solely on Challenger versus best counter build. Remember, story should play a bit into your judging criteria. Also, a counter must effectively undo the guerrilla attack. Even if the Counter MOC is better, if you don't think it successfully undoes the guerrilla attack, you should probably vote for the guerrilla attack. Thank you! 7. Week 5 Guerrilla Challenges Week 5 Guerrilla Votes: (hold your horses here, I have to set up the voting threads) NOTE: I think some are missing, but if there is not a link in the “Category C Thread” I might miss the build! So make sure to record your attacks there. (And your counters please!) New Challenges: The following challenges have been made. Anyone may counter these Guerrilla Attacks, but remember each builder can only build one counter build each week, so pick wisely. If the challenger wins, they will earn 4 additional points. Each counter is worth 4 points. (This is the last week that the old points values will be used) Voting will happen after the deadline. The winning side either retains the zone or captures the zone. If no one counters the challenger’s MOC, then the zone turns over to the challenger’s side, and they only earn 2 points. Counter builds should have a title with this tag in it: [CG: location, your faction vs the guerrilla's faction] IE: [CG:J13, U vs DK], Non Special Due Date: April 5th, anywhere in the world. Zone: K15 + K15 (Auner, worth 2 VP) Challenger: Jacob Nion + Robuko What Faction can counter: Ulandus (Two Counters Needed) Due Date: April 19th Zone: B8 + B8 Challenger: Garmadon + Kai NRG What Faction can counter: Desert King (Two Counters Needed) Zone: J11 Challenger: MKJoshA What Faction can counter: Ulandus Zone: L15 + L15 (Boreasport, worth 2 VP) Challenger: Brick Man Studios + Umbra-Manis What Faction can counter: Ulandus (Two Counters Needed) Due Date: April 19th Zone: g14 Challenger: MassEditor What Faction can counter: Ulandus THREE WAY BATTLE Zone: G5 + G5 Challenger: LordDan and Goliath What Faction can counter: High Council (Needs two counters, or one counter that counters them both. 8. Would that be Robuko's map I saw he had done a modified version.
  9. Sad thing is, I remember when you posted your MOC, not sure if it was in the warzone thread and I just missed it, or the general Cat C thread.
  10. In the immortal words of Warcraft, Jobs Done!
  11. I am not following here, do you mean what factions currently control without the yellow? As in a second map that shows current standing to supplement the current map? I suppose I could do that next round, but then people looking at the maps and not paying attention may still call the yellow zones as their next target in their posts. I think the way I thought of it was that when a territory goes to yellow, it no longer belongs to someone, but I can see why that is confusing, especially with un-countered GAs
  12. Sorry Jakorin, I must have missed that one. Thank you ME for the quick help. The post and poll have been edited. BTW: If you already voted, and want to change your vote to Jakorin, I believe you have the option to cancel your vote and vote again.
  13. Disco, it looks like you may win this one, D7 is already under attack, if you want to call a new space, please do so. Second place right now is MassEditor, which I don't think he called anything at all.
  14. VOTING THREAD Warzone 4: The Lonely Mountain Rumble Who Can Vote: EVERYONE How to Vote: Look at all the MOCs from each side. First, determine which side won this battle. You should base your opinion on a couple different factors: A)Build quality amongst all MOCs B)Number of MOCs of quality [Please remember that Ulandus has a numbers disadvantage here in terms of team members, so even though they only had four builds, that is almost half their builders participating] C) Story of the MOC D) Fit to the Warzone. If you are not familiar with the requirements of the warzone, please at least read the “mini-challenge,” “restrictions,” and “Judging” sections listed below. You can weigh these in any order, or add your own categories. Please consider the three above in your decision though. You may want to clarify or lobby for your favorites in this thread, but you don’t have to write anything if you don’t want to. Next, pick an answer to each question in the pole. In the second three questions it will ask you to pick your favorite MOC from each side. Please judge on quality of MOC and its story. You can add other qualifications to your own judging process if you would like. Finally, submit your vote. Polling ends: April 3rd Warzone 4: The Lonely Mountain Rumble Location: H9 Who Can Participate: All Factions Terrain: Volcanic, recently erupted, Erexhi, or the Lone mountain, has many communities that used to sit at its base. The high peak used to catch condensation from the rare cloud, and water would trickle down to the base. It is unclear if this still happens. The land at the base is volcanic rock, mixed with sand. Much of the territory has to be fed by merchant caravans from the South Coast, as foodstuffs rarely grow. With limited grass, livestock is in shortage also. History: The Lone Mountain, or Lonely Mountain, has always been a fixture in Kaliphlin heritage. The first Kaliphlin coins known to historians had a Pharaoh on one side, and the mountain on the other. In coat of arms, sometimes the Kaliphlin Lion is perched upon a background of the Lone Mountain. There was even a religion, seldom practiced today, dedicated to the mountain as a creator figure. Today, or at least until half of the mountain’s top blew off a few months ago, it hosts a vibrant set of villages and towns, who rely on it to catch water. The lord of the region, who represents all the towns and villages here, is Lord Abrim Kar’dani. With the recent outbreak of Civil War, he tried to stay completely neutral. However, as all of the food providing regions were snagged up by different powers, it has become evident that he needs to side with one of the powers in order for what towns that are left in the region to survive. He has come up with a unique way to do this – a call to the bravest champions to fight for his land. Mini-challenge: Lord Kar’dani is like any Kaliphlin lord, he wants to survive and he wants to make money. He sees an opportunity for both. He has made a general appeal to all three sides to bring their strongest champions to Bella’Erezhi, his town, to fight in a general mass melee. The side who survives will receive his pledge. Bella’Erezhi has been half destroyed by the Great Disturbance, so a part of the town has been marked off as the “Fighting Zone.” Anyone leaving the zone after they enter will be disqualified, but aided if in need. The last side standing wins the zone. Builders should create a MOC that depicts the mass melee in Bella’Erezhi, their faction should be winning. Since this is a vignette challenge, this will probably be a one on one battle, but if you can fit more participants than that, that is fine. Restrictions: The MOCer will create a vignettes of no more than 8x8studs. Limited overhang is acceptable. No height restrictions. Don’t worry about throwing flags / banners in if you don’t have room. JUDGING: Figure "look" and posing will be considered as a judging criteria for the vote. 15. VOTING THREAD Warzone 3: The Nestlands Insurgency Who Can Vote: EVERYONE How to Vote: Look at all the MOCs from each side. You can add other qualifications to your own judging process if you would like. Finally, submit your vote. Polling ends: April 3rd Warzone 3: The Nestlands Insurgency. Location: G15 Who Can Participate: All Factions Terrain: This battle happens in the Northern Nestlands region. (The following is Gedren_y’s description of his home territory) “The mountain in the center of the grid is known as Ghuin Nol, and is described as predominantly light colored stone. The terrain is somewhat like Asian equatorial rainforest. The Nestlands settlements are mostly on the south and east faces, but Skywatch Perch is at the peak, and is manned by the High Guard. The mountain is honeycombed with natural caves, and would be a good strategic position if someone wants to overrun the commercial and production centers of the Nestlands. There is very little drinkable ground water, as it is too mineral rich.” History: It is said that the Kaliphlin Civil War started in the Nestlands. Even before the council was willing to recognize they were at war, the Nestlands were busy fighting for their right to live as they desired, under their own rulers and religion. As the Ulandian Forces surrounded the High Council Enclaves of Mypa Stedor and Berigora, the Nestlands held out valiantly. However, overwhelming attacks by the 5th Legion subdued the Northern Nestlands region, and put a green blip on the campaign map. Some said that the Nestlands clans were fighting an unfair battle, as they pledged neutrality, and when they refused to swear allegiance to the “New Council” as Ulandus has styled the government that they are trying to install, the Blazing Swords (5th Legion) forced compliance. Mini-challenge: Now that the war is in its first month, and most of the 5th Legion has moved on to secure more territory, the Nestlands Clans have taken the fight back against the Ulandians. Small pockets of resistance, armed with Mpya Stedor weapons, have begun to overthrow the officials Ulandus had left behind. The challenge here for High Council builders is to depict one of these insurgency operations succeeding against Ulandus. Ulandian builders should depict on of the insurgency attacks failing, and Ulandus forces prevailing. Desert King builders should depict their forces taking opportune attacks against both sides. *this doesn’t mean you have to depict DK supporters attacking both sides at once, just attacking one or the other. Restrictions: 32x32 with limited overhang, SPECIAL: Must have an irregular base. (hey, we are about improving our skills here, aren’t we?) Due Date: March 29th Title Tag for MOC's thread: Title of Moc [WZ2:G15, Faction Name] Some of these still don’t have two “thumbs up” yet. 16. Great to have you here, Lord Renyrth! Great to have you here Rconn0!
  17. We kind of decided no more leaks, so I am not going to talk too much about the map -- I "think" we have it set, but we were going to allow players to participate in the Old World as well as the new, as we have builders here who prefer more "European" than "colonial" in their own MOCs. Be careful what you wish for there with the volunteering...
  18. I REALLY like this one. Simple, but very sweet! The color combo is great!
  19. I think SNOT is much more about if you have the pieces rather than the expertise. Some people do it tremendously (you are one of them.) some just cover every lug they can... Yes, I don't want to see a ton of studs everywhere, but at the same time, it makes no sense to me to not have a few . Rocks are one of the things that bug me the most, there should be bumps as it adds texture, I think people are wasting their time smoothing out models too much. And if we are talking about the two models in debate, Maxim has studs in the same exact place as Disco, on the road! SNOT can't be the reason people voted one over the other, because they are SNOTed the same! I am not saying people shouldn't be voting Disco's MOC, as I think it is an excellent MOC, and side by side with no other consideration, I would have voted for it too, but I am not sure I would go as far as saying Maxim's looks unfinished. It is just in a different style altogether as Disco's which, as Elostirion said, appeals to different people. Sorry, this isn't a rant at Kai at all, it has been a few years since I railed against SNOT elitism, I had to voice the opinion again. I feel that too many people count too much into SNOT building, and not enough into other execution. When I judge your MOCs for the challenges, SNOT is a very low priority on my own list.
  20. SNOT is overrated. People are too hung up on "polished" or no studs showing... It is LEGO, there should be studs showing. If we wanted no bumps, mold in clay. 2 cents added.
  21. Man this thread took off while I was away... That has been in the game mechanic for a long time now -- See GOH for the test of a conquering mechanism (just not as intense) The final game mechanic for BoBS will benefit from the GoH Chal 4 run. I agree here, and I assume MOPS does too, as he is leadership's main advocate for magic / supernatural in the project (I support what he wants to do) Agreed. I personally am a little put off by the idea of writing in the slave trade -- i know it is historically important to our world, but I am not sure we HAVE to have it in BoBS. But I defer to what the populace wants. There are actually A LOT of things laid down, ask some of the new leaders about how much is in that forum.
