LMAO. That is great. The green hat looks really good! i don't want to say you wasted your time with the blue one, but it didn't seem that different from what we have available. but then again i would probably have to see it in person to be a better judge... however i have not become daring enough to start ripping things apart right now LOL. These hats are all pretty cool though. I am glad you did it and showed us!

Thats going to be a hard sell... most people who have an SES seem to have a BSB already.... just taking a tally from people here. Also their values are different. SES can go for alot more then BSB (because BSB was rereleased they are much more common, but before the rerelease they were still more expensive) So to entice someone into this trade you may need to add things in.... either money or other lego. Good luck on the trade.

your ships have thrown me a loop for the pirate game that we are trying to put together here... i was close to having a combat system down... but if someone came up with one of these or worse the andromeda.... it throws my whole scale off... well back to the drawing board.

so this is your next project after the starwind right??? lol yikes.... that thing would just be hideos vrs any other ship... what do you estimate the minifig crew to be? (enough to make her look functional that is)

Well i do have one ship in my american fleet that is aweful looking but has 40 guns... maybe a combo! hehehe no, i am pretty usre the starwind rules the seas.... for now lol.

Yeah, i need to stop lol. really need to stop. They just look so cool standing side by side though. And before i move for my PHD program in about 10 months (i have no idea where i am going as of yet, just know i can't stay here lol) i am going to have a huge pirate wargaming weekend, where the town i am planning (and starting) to build will be under siege and i wanted to have many soldiers to fend off the pirate players... the town will ultimately be destroyed of course (i have to move anyway) but it will be pretty cool... so i suppose I am stocking up for that event. Now if i can just convince people to wargame with lego... LMAO. As for pictures... other then the couple of pictures of MOCs i have posted, no. Most of my fleet is in hibernation at my moms house because she has more room (roughly 1 unbuilt SES, 3 extended CC, 3 BSBs, 1 RBR (another unbuilt), 2 AF, 2 IF and 7 or 8 customs, various sizes... some steam ships too, but those don't count lol. i have the pieces to make more ships though there...i think) I listed what i have at this house in the fleet listing. THough I may build another ship relatively soon. I am posting a picture of a MOC pirate "fortress" that i built tonight... so you will get to see some imperials in action as they attempt to raid them. I will snap a picture or my "unassigned" soldiers and put it in the folder too... as for the CD... it was a loops CD, i mix music once in a while, and have a joke band that i have produced a couple CDs with... I was hoping for more Ska like beats and guitars on the regae CD, but it has been fun so far.

Indeed, I'm planning to add a scottish regiment (Black Watch and/or Gordon Highlanders). But I think the Black Watch sounds the coolest :-). yay! i love when people use the redbeard torso for uniforms.... they look great. I can't wait to see your take on the battle that is for sure! I wish i had enough blue coats and red coats to seperate them into french and english... righ now mine are all english. i envy your army greatly!

welcome aboard! cool that this site rehashed your interest. I would suggest garage sales also... though i have never found lego at any of the ones i have gone to (which are actually very limited) but i know some ebay shops make their livings off of seperating garage sale lots and selling them, and i know a couple poeple who went to a garage sale and came back with 2 (yes 2!) Skull eye schooners amonst other things in the lot they bought.... now i wish i went to that garage sale.... my other favorite, if available to you (its only available to me on vacation really) is pick a brick walls at lego stores.... good bang for the buck if they have the pieces you want.

wasn't this Canuck...what is the market price for an imperial soldier nowadays? i have been picking them up from 2.50 - 4.00 american but then you have to add shipping of atleast 2 dollars sometimes 6.00 per lot... and they average around 3 or 4 figs a lot... so i figured i was saving money just bidding really high for 40 when shipping is 4 pounds... whatever that is... like 8 bucks i think lol. i see two broadsides in the lot which are worth alot more... so my total was like 160 after shipping I believe... that is 4 dollars per fig with two broadsides.... so it was an expensive aquisistion, but i probably would have spent that much over the next couple months anyway picking the same figs up... i want to do some war gaming and i am very short on imperials to man my ships. but this last purchase has really broken my bank... i think i am going to give my ebay pw to my fiance for safe keeping for a couple months... maybe... lol. Giving your pw to ebay to your fiance might not be a good idea if your fiance is like my wife. :) C'mon down to new brunswick canada and I'll destroy yer pathetic little army beneath my heel! (figuratively i'd never destroy a lego minifig, that would be....unthinkable!) Yeah you are probably right... women like spending money too much. LOL. peter pan would be quite interesting! treasure island comes to mind too.... a series of classic pirate stories woudl be an awesome theme!

Well i just bid too much on a lot of 40 imperial soldiers and miraculously won.... but when i went back to look who the competiton was and what they had bid on in the past.. i got to wondering if i had bid against one of you canucks on the board here? the last guy that was bidding against me was named renegaderumrunner from canada, is that any of you guys? Let me know, and i will try to stay away from auctions I see you bid on in the future. that goes for anyone that wants to give me their ebay name... i won't make promises (we are pirates after all!!! lol ) but I will try, might restrain my lego spending habits too hehehe. (i got paid this weekend, and then just blew it all on lego.... food is overrated anyway...)

Yeah, just the one clipper. They tend to go for a fair price. Wish I had a couple more though. Most of the ships I've aquired in the last couple of years. Some I got from my cousins collections ,some from ebay. Most I've paid for a SES was $130 AU. That one had every peice, every minifig and a perfect set of instructions. The other's came with minor peices missing and had usually been put in a strange category on ebay with a half assed description which I guess is why people missed it. Keep an Eye out in the MOC thread. I'll try and post up some pics of my land creations tonight. thats the best way to find them! its just hard finding the half assed descriptions sometimes... lol wow what a bargain for SES. i havent bought one in over five years, but when i did i paid alot more then that :(

Well, it is more realistic with attached on the top, real ships had it like that.... was just going to say that... but if you want to do it that way, you could always run some sort of piece through the holes underneith the bowsrit.. it may look funny but it should give it some stability... they have long black "pipes" that coudl do the trick... i am not a whiz with the part numbers or with the ldraw pictures so i cant demonstrate it...

Well i really want to get this but the international post is 45 dollars for 6 weeks shipping.... i cant justify it.... i have been looking for one of these for a while though, and would like to see how they compare, i believe it is a different clone brand then the first ones we were talking about.... but this is the large ship of oxford korea blocks... i think i posted a picture of this on this thread already. I dont know maybe someone is more daring then i am. I would really like to know the results...

now i wish i lived in france! lol. Which country is it that still has pirates on the shelves at many stores? is that belgium or was it france?

I also would like an imperial trading post, since it is the only one i really don't have... however i just end up tearing my sets apart and sorting them (other then some of the ships) so i am not willing to pay alot of money for the set, so i probablywill never get it! but the minifig i want most would have to be govenor broadside as a blue coat!!!! i really really want one, i have a couple of his red version (isn't he named something else everwwhere else in the world?) but i do not have one of the broadsides from elderado fortress, though i have two elderado fortress... or the pieces of 2... lol.

i suppose... and yet again i haven't looked into this guy at all, but if he was a contemporary the point of repeating ones self probably was for historical reasons not art. if a contemporary to this battle, he was probably commisioned to make this portrait for either the navy or for a patron... so taking artistic liberty would probably be out of the question. but again i didn't look this dude up, so he may be some guy drawing ships today. in that case, maybe you are right maybe he adds color so people will take notice.
