LEGO Star Wars 2018 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!
Calanon replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
So I just opened the x-wing from this year to look at the new flight helmet in the plastic, and I think what I find particularly wrong about it in comparison to the old one is that it feels like it sits about 1mm too tall on the minifig. I lifted the old helmet up by 1mm and it also feels too tall. -
Not posting this on rumours because nothing confirmed as a set or anything, but Lego posted this on Twitter...

The 4+ x-wing features Luke with an old Alliance helmet mould and an updated face print (basically the 2014 one without the cheek lines). -

The new Alliance fleet trooper is such an upgrade, the jacket actually has depth now! It's fantastic. If Lego really wanted to redo an old mould with dual moulding I'd honestly have chosen the Alliance fleet helmet over the stormtrooper helmet, for whilst it is fairly good not needing a second piece would be perfect. -
This, especially with the latter wing mod, looks substantially better than the set. I'd actually buy this. A further suggestion would be to possible remove the plate on the side of the centre wing.

Nope, not reached that stage yet at all. The mouthpiece in particular looks absurd to me, although that is from printing. However, it's slightly functionally different in that the imperial scout helmet has a faceplate that can lift up. The fact that this was done in Rebels might make it more likely, and the fact that we haven't had a scout trooper since 2014 makes me suspect we will eventually get a new mould rather than using the 41st corps helmet. -

To be honest, from the episodes I've watched there aren't many things on the smaller scale (yet) that could be done as a Lego set. The starfighters are cool but would probably cost at least £70~ each if they were done properly. However, the lack of any at all does seem weird to me. Something I am curious about with the Inferno Squad battlepack is that it contains "one female and three black stormtroopers", the woman is obviously Commander Versio, but does this mean one of the spec ops is Seyn Marana? Hopefully they come with hair as well as helmets. -

Does anyone know if there are any sets rumoured for Resistance? -

I saw these posted on a Lego Star Wars Facebook group, no idea on the accuracy beyond "seems plausible" and the fact that the Praetorian Guard battlepack has been rumoured for a while as far as I know. Another AT-AP? Really? I hope it's something else to be honest. -

Yep, I'll do that now, thanks. I'll be honest I did not see that a '19 thread had been created. -

I saw a list of leaked sets on Facebook and all I can say is... another bloody AT-AP? I hope it's something else and they are just mistaken... Quite a few anniversary sets, but with no names. -
That Dr Aphra looks really nice!

Does anyone have any suggestions for a face for Dunstig Pterro?

There was a caboose with a turret on it, which is what we get in the set. -

Yes. The same as the range troopers have, but in black. -

A shame it's only got the engine and the caboose but no cargo containers. Still, looks like a good set with solid minifigs. -

Very nice photoshop edit on including me! It's like I was really there and not in the loo! It was a wonderful event and I had a great amount of fun, I've uploaded my pictures on Facebook but I'll see about also uploading them to an Imgur album. -

Aye, and the minifigs of those work well, I'm just wondering how to do the in-between ranks who don't have any canonical appearance. -

Okay, so, in regards to shoretrooper ranks we see in Rogue One a private, a sergeant and a captain, with the visual guide saying the coloured chestplate plus faulds indicates the rank of captain. I want to have a shoretrooper corporal, sergeant major and lieutenant but wondering how to do it - potentially having the coloured chestplate and no faulds in order to indicate lieutenant, whilst not sure how to do corporal and sergeant major. I'm thinking for sergeant major having sergeant chest markings + kama + faulds, whilst corporal bnasically looking like a private but with a kama, but faulds or no faulds? Any ideas? -
It is a pretty nice set, although slightly too long from what I can tell. I think they should've used a black bracket on the spoiler instead of grey, the grey looks strange and stands out.

[MOC] Imperial Patrol Speeder - Solo : A Star Wars Story
Calanon replied to Ramses25's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Looking good! I'd still recommend removing the brackets or doing something else, they're pretty far forward and stand out a lot to me. It's much nicer in the brick than the official set though. -
So, according to the Solo Visual Guide, the 'emigration officer' included in this set is just an armoured navy trooper. The emigration officers are the ones with brown tunics, as seen in the film.

Looks real good! Where did you get Dreis' helmet from?
-
Looks really good, I particularly like how you did the ball turrets, that's some very nice attention to detail there. As for the timeline, well, the New Republic used them during the last year of the Galactic Civil War, so it can work.
