Far superior? I don't think so! The cockpits were missing a second seat for a co-pilot, the planes had no controls other than a lackluster printed slope, and the only thing in the interior was seats! Unfortunately, I find your reason to be irrelevant to my debate. My town has many of these aircraft hung up, thus eliminating the need for an airport at all. Thus, I can hang the Cargo plane up and it still looks good "taking off" from my layout.
-
Well, it can be used for a flight simulator, a spaceship, basically anything that can fly.
-
??? All of the aircraft are designed to minfigure scale.
-
Why are you complaining about them being large? In real life aircraft are huge, too, compared to many other objects, mainly buildings and structures. I mean look at the Airbus a380, one of the main landing gear tires are 3/4 the size of a fully grown adult! So that makes no sense, because the scale is accurate. I have yet to see a blocky airplane nose.... Wait, because they can't fly! Once again, aircraft in real life are EXTREMELY streamlined in their appearance and structure.
-
I would appreciate if all the people will stop complaining about the helicopter-- Just because it has an one-piece nose, does that make it terrible? No! Let me see a more streamlined nose made out of bricks before you complain that it is too <insert that tiresome argument>.
-
I am hoping that this passenger train will have more than just chairs and tables inside...
-
You know what is weird-- Duplo is full of civillian themes. Look at what they have! Lots of Zoo sets (even an artic zoo! ), a classic Grocery, Family House, a stand alone bus, a CIRCUS, and a huge minifigure pack with a good amount of variety. Why can't LEGO make sets like this for the City theme! Also, I wouldn't trust currency exchange rates. TLG has shown us that U.S. prices are much lower than the rest of the world's MSRP.
-
No, the theme will probably die out as soon as everyone sees TS3 and forgets about it months after the release. There just isn't enough ideas to makes sets out of, or are impossible (Slinky dog, Mr. Potato because of licensing issues with companies, same with that dinosaur) to produce. I'm sorry, but I'm am going to predict that this will be just like Speed Racer back in 2008, once the hype dies down after the initial movie release, no more sets will be released. Also, some of the more iconic toys are made by Hasbro or Fisher Price, so due to copyright issues, I'm afraid that there will be no Mister Potato.

Review: 7590 Toy Story Woody and Buzz to the Rescue
Legoliner Pilot replied to Pugsly's topic in LEGO Licensed
Agreed 1100%. Bleh! The Woody figure was worse enough, now because of it being pre-assembled it is just terrible! -
In the U.S., those are going to be available on the first of January, not the thirteenth.
-
Nope, they are all do out in February-March.

I think you are confused, Klaus. Fire and Airport are not new themes, so why would it make any sense to call it a completely new theme? And plus, most of the Fire sets are coming out soon and it would make no sense to call these subthemes new because they have been rehashed at least once each. Danke!

No one answered me a decent use of those head pieces, so I came back and asked again. I'm sorry, but I'm not biased towards Disney. Do I have to be? No. I have the fairest right to an opinion, and I feel you are insulting me by shoving the fact that I do not like Disney down my throat. It seems like anyone who complains about Disney on the Internet is harassed and insulted. I don't have to like Disney, it isn't required by law, and I never will. I rest my complete case. I shall say no more about it. Also, I could use Squidward's head in a MOC, thank you very much, but the problem is that I own the ORIGINAL Squidward head! Oh, and for the reference: Mr. Krabs head, in my eyes, could have an excellent use in an Atlantis MOC. By the way, who the heck is Plo Koon?
-
I was referring to Buzz, Woody, Jesse, that short weird guy, and Zurg. They are bleh! But Darth Vader's Helmet is a piece of headgear, not a head, . IMO, the only good sets in this range will be the Green Army Men on Patrol and [Hopefully not Maxifig-scale ] the Western Train.

While I understand your explanation, no one has taken on my question:
-
I have to agree with Klaus-Dieter here. Those heads are way too big and can't use any normal minifigure headgear or under head accessories. Plus, no one has addressed the fact that those heads will look ridiculous next to normal minifigures, and that they are so specialized that I'd like to see a halfway decent use of them (and their oh so ugly pants, too) in something that has nothing to do with Toy Story. I mean come on LEGO, noses and huge heads? Bleh! Why must we stray away from the good, old fashion minifigure design? Indy, Spongebob, Batman, Prince of Persia, and all the other licensed themes had noses (and all the characters had different heights in their respective shows, too!), yet LEGO saw no need to make over-specialized heads with noses and ears, plus those useless cartoon hats which are much too big for normal minifigure heads. Before you start defending Toy Story, please give me a decent use of that gargantuan Woody head, or Buzz's jet pack and head in something that has absolutely NO relation to Toy story.. I don't need reminding how Woody needs to be taller than Buzz, because Mutt in Indiana Jones was shorter than Indy but they both had normal legs. Same for Star Wars! Why is Toy story given a damn exception? Because Disney bribed LEGO into doing it.

Those pictures have been on Brickset for quite a while. They are at least one month old.

Thank you everybody! The decals were from a big basketball court set that is unfortunately broken up.

Hmm... Yes. Instead of having a small plane included with the airport, the large one is included instead. Not very wise. This means that the new airport must be at least $100 USD or very pricey. By the way, just to clarify, that plane is included with the airport, and is NOT a stand alone set. There are very good ways to make LEGO airplanes out of those <insert that tiresome argument> pieces. The best thing is that they give your a lot of flexibility, such as the tail cone piece which can be used to hold an elevator, or rear-mounted engines. And plus, you can even make decent looking helicopters out of them! While I can't make any judgments about the interior of the smaller plane (the one that is blue), I really hope that the seats are on one side and not in the center. How are the flight attendants supposed to serve refreshments otherwise? I also hope that the cockpit will seat two minifigures instead of one. Since when have any airplanes had no seat for a co-pilot? I can imagine that the interior will only have seats, because from that big preliminary picture in that catalog scan it is clear that it is four-wide.. If that is the case, than I am very disappointed. Adding more injury to insult, the logo on the Vertical stabilizer is a sticker! Come on LEGO, the last two airliners you gave us had printed logos on their tail fins. Is TLG just making fun of us now? I will, of course, set aside some hope for the interior, but I certainly have my doubts. Hopefully the airliner that comes with the airport will have better interior detailing. It is interesting to note that Legomilk said somewhere that in 2010 there will be a new theme for City. I think what he means is like another surprise theme, like that of Coast Guard in 2008, that suddenly comes out in the middle of the year. Hopefully it will be a hospital theme, which is good because in retrospect Hospital is a civilian theme, and the fact that we haven't had any decent Hospital theme since 2006.

While digging through my big roll-around bin of unsorted LEGO, I came across some of the huge, <insert that tiresome argument> pieces that once was my basketball court. I noticed some of the decals were transparent, so... This resulted! Here is the left side, with LEGOLAND advertisement: And the right side, with LEGO SPORTS and another one telling you to visit lego.com...

Unfortunately, Otters, this problem is not new and has been going on for a while. The concept is simple: Gather up all of the Season's hottest toys you can lay your hands on, and sell them for 100-300% over the retail price online. It is certainly not the reason for the season, and avoiding it won't help. It's kind of sad that some people rob other people's hard-earned cash just because they want to [jealousy] make a profit. Think of the children... And the AFOLS! What if the set doesn't become available next year?

This picture has been on the internet for at least two months... I have all of these pictures in my gallery, which unfortunately is not moderated yet (when it is, you can view it by clicking on the sign in my signature). Here is a relatively new one:
