  1. Thank you very much everybody! Initially I though this review was terrible because most of the pictures are mis-focused and there wasn't a lot of content. But to no avail with that! Thank you very much, TheBrickster! I was waiting for the review index to be updated, and now you did it! Thank you so much!
  2. INDEXED Today I will be reviewing 3179 Repair Truck, since no one else has. On with the review! Due to my lack of good quality box-art shots, I will present a high-definition photo of the front of the box since mine was glared and was not focused right. There is no visual difference. BOX FRONT On the back of the box, we see all the various play feature of the truck. Excellent! BOX BACK On the bottom right, LEGO his printed detail of the worker placing his trusty tools (plus spare light bulbs) in the cabinets on the side of his truck. The top right has the man changing the bulb of the streetlight, and a illustration showing how the bucket can be rotated 360 degrees. Sorry for the cut off picture, but here is the full 360-degree illustration: --- Onto the contents of the box.... Parts, removed from box: Just a DSS (Dreaded Sticker Sheet), oddly proportioned instruction manual, two plates, and two poly bags of the parts. DSS: This is when my camera's macro lens finally started to actually work. Sadly, there is many stickers in this set. Instructions: These are oddly proportioned compared to the size of the set. And no, I am not going to take a picture of the screaming preteen on the back. We have seen enough of him. Un-bagged plates: Nothing new here, but useful nevertheless. Part poly bags: Just waiting to be opened.... Un-bagged and organized parts: An excellent selection of basic bricks. I wouldn\'t buy this one as a part pack, though. Which brings us to... NEW PARTS: A green trash can! Perfect for recycling. I don\'t know why or what this has to do with repairing lights, but it sure is excellent! Minifigure: On the flip side, the minifigure is terrible and uses all too common parts. No back printing either. Random Instruction page (RIP): This page shows the completion of the tan plate with the recycling bin and street lamp post. I would have much preferred a green or bley plate but it is probably tan so it can match the construction sets. --- THE BUILD We begin with constructing the pole and base of the lamp post. We then add the lamp to the post and the recycling can: After that, we begin building the chassis of the truck... Next, we add the front bumper and some other details... I\'ll let the pictures and images do the talking.. Dumb stickers, I can never get you on right ... After that, we build the object that will hold the boom and allow it to turn 360 degrees: More stickers.... And a rear window! Next, will build the roof-mounted lights.... Fixed: Another Sticker.... A tiny rack of tools, too: The cabinets of both tools and light bulbs are added... The light bulbs are 1x2 trans-yellow plates: and then they are covered by beautiful tiles, plus \"stay\" clear saw horses are installed: And FINALLY, the boom with the cherry-picker bucket is built! More stickers! It bends, but when in transit, it folds down: Final Views of the set: Not much in the way of spare parts, though: Conclusion coming soon... enough...
  3. No Svelte no! My eyes! My eyes! What a lackluster interior!
  4. The icon in the top right for the Pig Farm & Tractor is the City Bulldozer. It's the same for all of these sets..
  5. THANK YOU Svelte! I am tired of seeing speculation threads fill up with garbage (read: annoying) about how high the price was. Lego has different prices for different countries and it is useless to complain when a [inaccurate] currency exchange is presented in U.S. dollars. Remember when we thought the Small Car was USD $9.99 when we got jacked up Amazon prices and believed that they were official? Also, for some strange reason, the LEGO City airport line is posted on the product page- click here -but when you click "check price" a "sorry, this page cannot be found" message is given. The tanker is listed as "Sorry, this item is not available in this country: United States". Calm down people, this does NOT mean it is a European exclusive. You can view it by clicking on this sentence. By the way, the Pig Farm & Tractor (Which is the REAL name, please stop calling it Piglets Enclosure with tractor! ) is the same; it can be viewed by clicking here. The farmer's wife has a new torso!
  6. City trains are Toy R' Us exclusives.
  7. Funtionally useless? MOD it! My Cargo plane has spaces for four pallets of cargo and an accurate cockpit. I agree with what you are saying about Coast Guard-- I almost feel as if you are pointing directly to the Helicopter (but not that you actaully are). I hate to break it to you, but the only <insert that tiresome argument> pieces in that set were the tail cone and the hull parts. IMO, it had on of the best brick-built cockpits we have ever seen! The only problem was that the power functions winch (are these still in production?) which, despite being advertised as pulling the life raft up, could not because of insufficient torque. The probable reason that the ship had a one-piece hull is to make it float, and it does a pretty good job of it. It even looks accurate. 2007 had some of the best sets ever, but that is when the rampant repetition of minifigure heads and bodies became worse (the only new torso, if I can recall, was the ship's captains', and it hasn't been used since). 2008 added on to this by repeating those same heads and torsos (sunglasses face and plaid shirt, bearded guy...) in almost every sets. 2008 was one of the worst years ever for City, not because of the sets, but because of the immense amount of stickers. I think that the only printed part for City in 2008 was the control slopes and computer slopes.
  8. You bumped up a useless thread just to tell me this?
  9. Will do. Done.
  10. I found this list elsewhere, there is some new sets thrown in there. 11. That is like asking if a toy car comes with wheels.
  12. And ignorant.
  13. There is a million different answers to that, but it is probably because it is invalidated.
  14. That is because those prices are from Amazon.
  15. The minifigures were stolen and the set returned, probably. LEGO had nothing to do with this issue except for the manufacturing of the product.
  16. Oh, ok. Thanks for the info.
  17. No idea. I guess the English to Dutch translation screwed up and now it has given us this half-english/half dutch word. Maybe if Rick was here he could tell us what the hell a "Boer" is. I think the chairs are swivel type. I like this airplane, it is not too big (7893) or not too small (classic town airliners). I also the radar very much, even though I don't know what to do with it....
  18. So you are going to try to justify increased prices of these 2010 Train sets by saying that Europe gets a few tiny promotional sets and board games (which by the way are coming to USA shelves in a few months)? I'm sorry, but that is an extremely naive and irrelevant statement. There have been NO sets that are over 20$ that haven't been available in the US in recent years. Oh and by the way, clearly expressing that Europeans have no right to an opinion won't go over very well. Also, it is NOT dead, perhaps if you checked some of the European SAH websites before spouting off you would know the truth. And by the way, the plural form of "Lego" is "Lego". There is a major distribution headquarters of LEGO in Enfield, Connecticut. I heard something are manufactured there too.
  19. No problem. I always wanted to see a clearer image of that set too! Why, when you look through the windows of the plane, does there appear to be a gap between each seat? And why does the Tug driver have a knit cap?
  20. While searching for a picture of the 101211 Grand Emporium, I found a Dutch website that had some information, mostly release dates and confirmation of sets. You can view it by clicking here. There is also a new image of the 3181 Passenger Plane: Also, some other pieces of info: 3221 LEGO Truck, expected in June 2010, 5-12 years. 7566 Lego Boer, Expected June 2010
  21. Also, if anyone is interested, click here to view a resolution deeplink of the LEGO Truck.
  22. High resolution deeplinks from my personal gallery (see my signature): Passenger Train - Click here Cargo Train - Click here Train Station - Click here Is it just me or do the new trains have 3 wheeled bogies?
  23. The following sets have been discontinued from USA SAH: Cement Mixer, Recycle Truck, both RC trains, Patrol Boat and Tower, Coast Guard Quad Bike, Cargo Plane, Coast Guard Helicopter with Raft, Truck with forklift, 7945 Fire Station, Cafe Corner, Town Plan, Cargo Plane, Air Mail, Coast Guard 4WD with Jet Scooter, Winter Toy Shop, Helicopter Transporter, Bulldozer, and the 2009 Advent Calender.
  24. Neither do porn sites themselves, but still kids watch it and it is still on the internet.
