The real name for this set is Small Car. Anyways, nice review. The minifigure is nice as well as the car.

Very nice article, nice writing. May I inspire you to write an article on the history of CITY? That would be awesome!

A "Flagship set" is any set that is the largest of the line or sub-theme, for example Police has the Police Headquarters, Traffic has the Garage, Fire has the new station, Construction has the Construction Site, Trains has the CARGO train, CARGO has the Cargo Airplane, etc. "Albeit expensive"? I hope it is not as large amount of money as the Grand Carousel (which costs the same as a Nintendo Wii before the $199 USD discount), because that will seriously hinder my options for other sets. I don't know about the truck stop, all of the trucks have been or are going to be released. Even the LEGO one, but LEGO's official truck only had a cab. I think I remember a time when they were giving them away with any order over $100.00 USD. Anyway, since the Tanker is already confirmed, and the fact that the Transport truck was released a year ago, there is little room for new trucks to accompany a truck stop set, so I don't see that happening until the Tanker and Truck with Forklift is discontinued [The LEGO cab was discontinued a long time ago]. On the other hand, in the Public Transportation option there is a concept drawing of the City Corner bus, so I have a trickle of doubt about getting a monorail. However, those Indy rails with the slopes and other special pieces of track support four-wide trains, so I think there is a slight possibility to get an elevated train next year. Albeit that, there is another doubt that I have: The current train motor, according to LEGO train third-party publications, is too weak to climb that steep of an incline, never mind the fact that it doesn't properly fit on the rails in the first place.

It is very realistic, at my local airport I see a lot of error windows on the Arrival/Departure screens...
-
It might be hard to understand, but that is probably the construct a Buzz, not the minifigure Buzz. Make sense? Wait the train doesn't even have a tender?? Wow, now my opinion of it has changed to "unrealistic" to "surreal". What are you going to feed the furnace? Even here the one in the trailer has a tender, but this one doesn't. On the bright side, it has those beautiful train wheels! Also, LEGO's train look exactly like the one in the trailer, except for there is no tender and the proportions are out of whack. You can clearly see where it is sourced from.

??? I will try to be less abrasive, but that doesn't do me much justice. If anyone ever tells me that Toy Story is about toys then I will blow a basket, go bonkers, etc. I know Toy Story is about toys. Please do not remind me! Same with "LEGO is for children". It does not void my right to speak my views on these sets. Tiger, go view the trailer for the movie. You can clearly see the train in there, but even if you can't, here it is: The wagon's are much longer in the Movie, while the LEGO version is much shorter...
-
I will wait for a real moderator to tell me to leave. I could have designed a much better train. I was expecting something like Brickster's confedarate train. I have an opinion and the right to speak it, thereby I can criticise Toy Story as much as I want to. I am not trying to convince you to change your views on Toy Story, but rather when new information comes in I will offer my views. If you disagree, fine, but do not tell me to leave becuase A. I have the right to speak my opinion in this and any other discussion when appropriate, and B. You do not have the authority to do so.

I can't wait until after the movie when all the sets go to "Sorry, this item is not available is this country: United States" after two months because of lackluster sales. Once again, LEGO has ruined a good set idea that [could have been better] barely is reminiscent of the real movie train (Jesus, could they have made the wagons any shorter? ), and is Maxifig scaled. No comment on the other sets, I don't know what the hell they are but they are certainly going to be in surplus supply on Bricklink.

By the looks, that Toy Story train might be 4-wide. Plus, the Indiana Jones 6-wide track pieces have already been purchased and molded, so it would make no sense to use such an expensive piece to manufacture in only one set. Plus, there is slopes- the required piece to elevate the track. Quoting the designer [Henrik Sidenuis] of the Temple of Doom in an interview in the November-December Brickmaster magazine: Which means (gasp) we might get a monorail for the 2010 TRU exclusive.

One of the problems with your recent vehicular MOCs is that they are just to similiar to the original design. This MOC looks like a recolored camper with most of the ceiling detailing removed and replaced with sirens and lights. More over, the interior is pretty lacking; if the police need to transport tools they would use a pickup truck, not a van. You should at least add some radar or some computers, and a coffee maker with cups. This vehicle looks too much like a camper and not enough like a van that law enforcement would use.

At the Orlando LEGO retail outlet, when I visited on the seventh of November, it was in stock. May not be now, but it's worth a look. Also, it's on "out of stock" status on SAH.

Also, Hinck, the supposed "Airline Promotional Set" has 105 pieces.

No offense, but I really don't think a Smart Car is useful for a postal service, it can hardly carry anything. Looking at your pictures, I see very little space for cargo which would make it very difficult to deliver mail around your town without constantly returning to the post office. How are you supposed to transport a package or parcel? I'm sorry, but even in country towns vans are still used.

Actually, LEGO piece mock-ups are made out of modeling clay. I read that in the LEGO SW Visual Dictionary.

Look at the list of set pictures that is pinned for 2010. The fire station is listed as the "City Minifigure Collection". Also, the list has incorrect names, that originally came from a very rough Czech translation, for example it is still listed as City Runabout yet the real set name is Small car. By the way, it is pigs with tractor, not piglets. Fire Station, not Big city Fire station. Same with the airport. Next, it is Fire Helicopter, not Fire department Helicopter. It also says Car Repair but this set is a truck that repairs lights. Most of the translation mistakes are on the review index. It is also missing the impulse sets, airliner, and helicopter with limo images. Here are the respective pictures:

Damn TLG, stop stealing my sigfig! Just kidding. The plane is great, but the pilot is not. I agree with Green here, that plaid shirt and sunglass face have been over used-- it's really tiring.
-
I will agree to stop debating. That new plane is actually another type of stunt airplane-- it is modified after a modern Extra 300s, while the last one was modeled after a converted warbird. Also, the pigs are now pink and have black eyes, if I'm correct. I wouldn't get your hopes up, guys- the torso on the female look a LOT like Engineer Max's overalls. On the flip side, are those red apples I spot in the feeding trough? The minifigures are a huge disappointment, it seems like ever since the Carousel set was released the same five torsos have been over used (you know which ones) over and over again. Thankfully, in the Limo with Helicopter set, the executive's wife is wearing this shiny new torso: Also, why are the windows in the 3181 Passenger Plane varying colors?
-
We are talking about it! This stemmed from an argument about the scale of the helicopter scale, which is a City 2010 set! No new topics need to be created, as it would just get merged with this one anyway. Also I would really like it if you would stop randomly stating in the middle of a debate that any theme is made for children besides exclusives. It is very irrelevant, and no one needs to be reminded that LEGO is a child's toy.
-
Thank you all for your responses. It is really interesting to read them, I now I can't wait until Christmas! I have to give a nod to LEGO in the way of stocking stuffers. They have everything for every theme, like battle packs, impulses, key chains, etc. Does anyone expect any certain surprises in their stocking?

I like the fact that you changed your post from "Personal" to "Seriously". Why did you do that? The FAA does not exist in my layout, as does others. The airplanes and helicopters and airplanes are all at different heights and flying in different directions. Obviously you are very confused as in real life near large cities airspace is very congested. And also, why can't helicopters hover over downtown settings? That is where the most helicopters are. Airplanes fly over cities too, so I see no point in that statement. Honestly, it's not that space consuming to make a small, regional airport. All you need is the airport from 2006 and a few packs of road plates. You make it sound like it is impossible to build an airport without devoting a large amount of space to it. All you need is a runway, airport building, and some planes. Wait a second.... We didn't start this over airplanes, it was about the blue helicopter. Helipads are often isolated and do not need an airport to accompany them, just a pad with a big "H" on it and a wind sock, obtained in the seaplane set. Wait! Right there is another instance where you can have a plane and not need an airport. As long as you have a pier or harbor, you can park the seaplane there. In fact, many people park seaplanes at marinas! You can just take off from the water, which is not that hard to recreate in LEGO. In fact, many large skyscrapers and office buildings have helipads on the rooftop so I don't know where the heck you are coming from with aviation not working in urban areas.

Look at my name. I work as a Delta Connection pilot. It hurts me when people say these look <insert that tiresome argument>, because these are the types of planes I fly (3181), and they are almost very accurate. A brick built nose would look incredibly block-like and out of proportion. Once again, you don't need a huge airport, or even one at all! You can just hang them up over your layout, as if they are passing by. Trust me, I have the Air show plane, Coast Guard Helicopter, Police Helicopter, Cargo Airplane, and the Agents fighter jet hung up over my layout. Do I have an airport? No, I don't. Does it still look decent without one? Very much so! By the way, airliners are very large in real life, and recently LEGO has been increasing the realism rate on the City sets, so it is natural that the planes are gigantic compared to the other sets. Make sense? I hope so.

More like a bigger wallet .

Excuse me and my newbish ways, but is a level crossing where track and road meet? You know, like that world city set that had a walkway, road crossover, etc.? I have that one, but it is broken up.
