the impulse sets were stocked before easter. then after easter they were on clearance sale. you didn't see them because they were kept in the easter aisle. i bought most on the monday after easter for 50% off (i.e. $2) and then some more for 75% during the clearance week. so far all three retailers, walmart, tru and target, stock them. walmart sold out quite quickly since they priced them at $3.47. target and tru both retailed them at $3.99. and target just "clearance" them after easter.

AMERICANS: all 4 of the speed racer sets are now available from TRU. I just saw them last night. The grand prix is $69.99, the truck vs racer x is $29.99 and the other 2 are $20.99. They are not found in the normal lego aisle. they are kept in the special speed racer promo section. besides lego sets, there are also action figures and hotwheel replicate of speed racers.

i don't even know why i try... *wacko* i should just go with the flow... hoth is coming back because some lego rep jury-rigged the phony database to appear like many customers complained about the short lived set. whoo hoo! now post it on the wiki site so that the rumor can spread faster than the wild fires in texas. oh, and area 51 is REAL!!!!

here's an idea...if stickers aren't that expensive, how about giving us 2 types of stickers: normal transparent stickers and waterslide decals. since the sets are targeted at AFOLs, many would definitely love the beauty of "printed" torso. by giving us waterslide decals as an option, we can apply the decals and seal them, hence achieving that nice "printed" look without the added cost to TLC. free AFOL labor. :-D ;-) i would also love to see the return of the space tires to lego factory. that moon buggy looks fine but would look even better with these set of wheels! >:-)

nobody slammed your idea because they own a hoth set. they slammed your idea because it's naive thinking. like that "computer database" idea by astoria. computer database doesn't just appear out of the blue. it has to be coded. it's not like some customer support guy just decided to code a DB and voila! TLC started using one. decisions aren't made at the low level, and neither is communication that transparent. Your incorrect statement was that if fans whined enough they will bring back the hoth set because it happened with the DM 7036. The statement was erroneous on 2 counts: 1- the target's DM version was a pre-release version, hence the SPECIAL EDITION tag. it was always slated to come back to the store later in 2008. 2 - your complaints on a fansite did nothing to bring DM back. I specifically don't see any complain or request to bring DM back just before you discovered DM was "re-released". in fact, EB members already knew it was coming back in December 2007. Your post was deleted because it was 1: erroneous to begin with, and 2: it incited a lot of raw anger and negative emotions which is not beneficial to EB, hence moderators decided to shut it down. if whining about something actually helps, we would have seen the return of the chrome gold c-3po. THAT MF did cause a lot of complaints from AFOLs. But as we can see once TLC said something is limited, it is LIMITED. maybe TLC will bring that MF back but at this point, don't hold your breath.

macbook air! *sweet* one thing i find disturbing about this line is the lack of consistent color theme. it's like a mish mash of colors. it might yet provide another nail in the agent theme coffin.

batman fans, start getting your batcopter and battank. S@H is now out of these two sets. Amazon.com too are out (except for vendors listing on amazon.com). From my source, TRU is running out and won't be restocking. target is already not carrying these two sets. not sure about walmart. they might make another appearance for Thanksgiving 2008 but you never know what is coming back.

yeah! and how are you going to change contact lenses in space? :-P poor guy never heard of lasik unfortunately. as for the sets, star justice looks fine. i like the rover and the scout craft. kinda partial on the fighter jet. the space skulls craft are just too cliche. flying skulls, vehicle with skull designs. nah...i prefer baddies in the shape of blacktrons I & II. just plain dark and spooky: machines are big and mean looking rather than vehicles in the shape of skulls.

apparently you didn't know the DM was planned for a comeback BEFORE it was released as a special edition set for Christmas 2007. the news came from a TLC employee. but somehow the rumormongers still managed to convince people that the sets are gone. this was of course different from HOTH BASE where TLC and TRU specifically said this is LIMITED EDITION. notice that DM is SPECIAL EDITION not LIMITED EDITION. the only close comparison is the 6212 x-wing. it was limited edition last year but was brought back for resale this year too. however there are lots of popular limited editions that were not brought back. like the 7264 imperial shuttle. there is a reason why the stormtroopers with printed legs are so expensive. like i said, repeated calling the bottom rung of the corp ladder isn't going to help much. it is racist because you implied that indians are stuck working customer service jobs (like associating convenience store employees to a person of a specific race). you also implied that indians have poorer access to corp decisions (e.g. the statement you made about talking to a US employee rather than an indian employee will get better results). superior service should not be linked to a person's race or it would be a racist comment. BTW, as I have stated, the DM was SLATED to come back wayyyy before it was released as a special edition set. it wasn't because of your calls to pester customer service that brought it back. seriously. this was discussed to death in december already. you didn't discover something new. for old sets, it's quite easy since you get to see the contents inside. for new sets, you can either rattle it. the sound of loose bricks in bags is different from the sound of loose bricks in box. if you have lots of loose bricks in box sound then it most likely indicate the bags were opened. for new sets not glue sealed (i.e. the sticker type), you can also peer into the box opening (the slip for resealing). for new sets that are glue-sealed, you just gotta inspect the seals carefully to make sure they aren't opened. that is in addition to the shake, rattle and roll test. you can tell quite easily.

i got all 4 IJ sets and lots of impulse sets. this was from the TRU sale. i got lots of SW sets: anakin jedifighter, hailfire droid, naboo starfighter, battlepacks, the jedifighter + hyperdrive, the shadow rogue. this was from the Target SW sales. got another 6075 yellow castle from fleebay. and 6054 forestmen hideout. lots of other parts from fleebay too. enough to make a nice lizardmen army (using the killer croc heads, not the 1x2 slope bricks). :-D

only the anakin jedifighter and the hailfire droid sets are at 25% off ($20 set selling for $15). If you buy 2 you can get further discount by using the $5 off $25 coupon. Final cost = $25 for 2 sets (or $12.50 per set). The other SW sets are on sale but for only 10% off. Best to stock up on the $10 mf parts pack since TRU sell these for 10% mark ups. TRU having a buy 2 get 3rd free sale on everything except SW,Creator and AR. Even city sets are on sale. I got all IJ sets. :-D Also a great sale for getting those impulse sets even with the mark ups. essentially you get 3 impulse for $8. if you have coupon ($5 off $25 or $3 off $3) you can make the impulse purchase sweeter. i got like 9 impulse sets. 8 knights and 1 policeman (for the pooch! :-P)

legoman is in new zealand. so it should be NZD80. it wasn't a forecast. it was a fact. not from me but from a lego spokesperson. was it greg? i can't remember now who it was. and i know this first hand because i went to target after christmas for the after-christmas sale and saw a DM returned to the shelf. it rang up $60. spoke to the store manager and he said they will be in stock from april. the BF set however will not be discounted though. :-/ oh well, that's what you get for a popular set. good thing i got a few prior to that. :-D

i think you were mistaken. it never sold for $29. only the EF and RACERS sets were on sale during the black friday month for $29. the lowest the dwarves mine was on sale for was $45 during the week when target was giving 10% off lego castle sets. i have been saying this for months now, dwarves mine is being sold for $60 from april, up from $50. hoth is not coming back however.

X-D what i like to see are more crude contraptions from the trolls and crazy steampunkish ones from the dwarves. the elves should be more magical (light blue, light green), and the humans more refined weapons like ballista and catapults and swords, shields and armors. the undeads - darker magic (dark red, dark purple, dark orange).
