Interesting tidbit from TLC's annual report
natelite replied to Joebot's topic in General LEGO Discussion
:-D :-D you would have think that's quite obvious. why would anyone design a sweeper that doesn't look like a sweeper? *wacko* oh wait... two words... world city :-| :-D :-D :-D i'm glad TLC re-hired common sense! :-D -
i don't understand the mr freeze set. supervillians and superheroes in toy carts? *wacko* maybe we can have super mario kart racing sets in the summer :-D :-D i'm cool towards these sets. either the vehicle is too big or too small. never just right. :-/ best is still the harley set with those enormous wheels, new MF and a cool bike. the wheels can be used for a nice apoc mecha/vehicle or a super space rover tank. as it stands though, harley's convertible 4x4 monster truck/tank doesn't do for me. the bike is still okay...though way too big for a street bike it can be used as a space bike or with some mods a futuristic mecha/suit bike, which suits the batman theme (armor clad futuristic vehicles). *y*

an alien space craft... it kinda looks like a creature though...
natelite replied to snefroe's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
wow!!! now that's an alien craft. if TLC has done so with the MM sets it would have sold a thousand times better than it currently is. both very alieny. including his third 3-rocket oval ship. just plain fantastic. *y* *y* here's to hoping we have similarly great ships like these in the factory space theme coming in april! -
Spacey Podcast with **SPOILERS** of the new set
natelite replied to Admiral Giddens's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
i can't seem to see any pictures. is this a voice only interview? -
nice moc! it's funny to see one of the comments as saying luckiest men alive not knowing those two were the dragon masters and they were standing at the beginning of the attack, not the end. :-D they probably ordered the napalm dragon attack instead of just barely escaping certain death. :-P

whoo hoo!! just won a 6074 black falcon fortress and a 6077 forestmen fortress from fleebay! it took me forever in countless bidding war but i finally won them in "perfect" condition (which i hope is mint or near mint) at the lower end of the BL prices. :-P i'm so happy. now i need to own a crusader castle (either 6080 or 6081) in near mint condition. :-P
-
while i don't dispute with gylman that the box and instructions and parts make the sets, looking at what BL users pay for complete without instructions or box sets i would have to say parts make up approx 60% of the set value. as the set grows older, more weight is placed on box and instructions but ultimately having the parts count too...if not fully. the argument that without the box and instructions the parts are nothing doesn't really hold. how else would you explain why people pay a premium for mini sets (small $5-10 sets) when it is just as easy to buy the parts separately at a cheaper total price. of course, this viewpoint is taken from the market perspective...so who is to say that the market isn't made up of irrational people. :-D aka greenspan's irrational exuberance. :-P

i think it was posted before. but it's always good to re-read it.
-
good idea but i wouldn't call it faction. it'll be more like version 2. :-P maybe in 2009 or 2010 we can have version 2 of the original factions! new knights (jellybean visor molds in new metallic silver! and maybe even bullet helmet!), new undeads (ghouls!). :-D glow in the dark??? nice!!! new ghoul MFs using scarecrow's head!!
-
ghouls faction? that's undead, isn't it? *wacko*
-
next 3vil faction? :-P how about lizardmen!! i think the third faction will most likely be in mf size. nagas are slightly larger and more obscure to the casual fantasy fans and lego fans alike, so they won't be that good of a hit. most however can relate to lizardmen though, i think. and we already have the killer croc from batman as a model of what lizardmen can be! :-P and in most fantasy, lizardmen are expert scouts and archers, just the right matchup for the elves! edit: other ideas would be gnolls, goblins and kobolds. :-P or just call them dogmen. :-P

can we update the front page with the new pics of droid gunship and tx130? i don't see them there and i hate to wallow through the 40 odd pages i haven't read since last week.

Which would you buy - The Caribbean Clipper or Red Beard Runner?
natelite replied to Big T's topic in LEGO Pirates
i don't think that's a fair poll. you need caribbean clipper for different reasons from a RBR. i would compare RBR with a BSB and SES as they are all pirate ships of similar size and caliber. in that comparison, i think BSB trumps all. the color scheme and design is better than the other two. i would compare caribbean clipper with imperial flagship. and in that match, i would say IF over CC. I like the sleeker design and it just seems more visually stunning than the CC. if you need to strictly compare RBR with CC, then... RBR is better for play value. it is a bigger ship with more features than the CC. as for a nice display model, i think CC has better color coordination. from afar, RBR looks like a mish-mash of colors. also, nothing beats men in uniforms. :-P -
maybe it's because walmart and TRU haven't caught on to the schemes? :-P my impression is that target is better run. i see a lot more ripped boxes at WM and TRU than at target.

well, here's to hoping that they bring back mecha theme as an AFOL designed series from LEGO factory. If they did that with the up-and-coming space theme, i'm sure the possibility is there. a properly designed mecha is a sight to behold and i can't wait to see what LF comes up with. the downside is that there arent many english speakers mech lovers. hopefully TLC can reach some of those japanese afols. X-D

7048 - Troll Warship Picture Review!

wish TLC had made a new creature instead. I would have liked having a gryphon mount. :-P dragon vs dragon...just reeks too much of D&D. :-P -
ASK HERE How to clean your LEGO sets/parts?
natelite replied to jngunsw's topic in General LEGO Discussion
i have one of those catalogs and it said lego is safe below 104F. It is also safe to wash below 104F max water temperature. it also said to use mild dish detergent for your washing instead of laundry detergent. :-P i'll take a scan tonight if i can still find that catalog. -
LOL. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D it's funny how we seem to have sixth sense here. Weren't we talking about a spy theme just a few months ago? Low and behold! Lego agents will be coming this summer. And didn't we just talk about space pirates not too long ago? Low and behold! star justice and the space skulls!!! *wacko* *wacko* sometimes i wonder if TLC got their ideas from EB or EB just think like TLC. kinda like the chicken and the egg, who came first connundrum. :-D :-D :-D
-
what we are seeing could be that finally TLC decided against keeping us prices artificially low. :-X
-
not trying to thread crap, ...but i don't think "official" is the right word. officially exoforce is dead. this is no official project. :-/
-
call customer service for a replacement. if you are lucky they may not even request you to return the mashed up set. :-D just for the record, i haven't had such luck. i had a few destroyed or opened boxes they tried to offload to me but i called and gotten replacements, and they collected the badly dmged sets.

http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...ndpost&p=165476 it has been discussed before. :-P i agree to a space pirates theme!!! ironically, in that thread we talked about lego spies...and what do you know? some of the sets suggested there is in the new agents line. stuff like a truck headquarter, etc.
