well, i already have all i needed. the minifigs are nice, but i have like 2 of each by now...both for 2006 and 2007. they have new prints for 2008, but i shudder at the sight of those ugly stick figures called mechs. :-P i dont think pirates will be replacing ef. it's quite obvious it will be agents. so we have indy jones and castle for historical/adventure. sw and spongebob live on. agent for action (replacing EF). city. MM as space. how about a space pirates theme next? :-P so what do you think? space pirates, a winner or a wiener? :-P

really? is anyone actually caught by surprise with this news? :-P those TLC marketing guys should really use us as the test market instead of a few danish kids who don't buy lego. we told them back then when we saw the 2007 sets that the smaller ones would sell well. the two big sets were huge disappointments. the mobile devastator??? what was that?!?! and the golden fortress...yuck. no offense, SW4J, coz i remember you love the fortress. :-P in fact, i skip the entire 2008 line because it suxor. :-P except for storm lasher and the tank. the tank design was okay, but suffered from poor color choice. so that leaves only the storm lasher as a potential good set. even then i'm primarily getting it for the troll swords. tbh, i'm not surprised if these two sets outsold the others as well. i seriously think if they made more elaborate models like kwi-chang's (those can be the expensive $60-70 sets) and like moko's (smaller mechs for like $15-20) the theme would sell better. i don't know where they got the "bigger is better" motto from. :-| it's only true for real cars and real houses. :-P lego cars (and mechs incl) and lego houses should be small and elaborate. :-P it's because we have no shelf space at home. :-P

i am almost certain to keep one as a chess set for display. :-P initially i was thinking of getting yet another 2007 chess set but after seeing this baby... *wub* *wub* guess i'm going to park my money in the bank account for a few more months. *wub* *wub*

with all this great stuff for the castle line, i was thinking perhaps they have too much of a good thing? at first i was going to buy lots of battle pack, but after seeing the chess set decided against it now. if there's more good sets with lots of mfs, i might not get the chess even. :-P what i am driving at is that everyone (incl afols) have limited budget and money. by making too many good sets, i am afraid that some of the good ones will not sell well. not because of the design but more because people can only afford so many.

doesn't seem that bad... :-/ commander cody's gun holster seems to restrict his leg movements. i kinda see that piece as useless if movement is that restricted. see cody on the speeder bike. :-P on the other hand, i'm kinda disappointed. such a large set and only 5 MFs. :-( and am i the only one who thinks obi's hairpiece looks horrible? it looks like a donald trump combover.

no, it's a wand. the lightsaber hilt is holding the trans red flame and beneath it is a black rod. :-P

whoa!!!!!! not only will i be getting multiple of the chess set, i will actually be keeping one intact! it's good enough to play chess with! whoa!!!! so elaborately built. i guess TLC really does listen to AFOLS! finally we get brick built rooks and actual knights! woo hoo!!! on closer look...why are the king and queen holding goblets? shouldn't they be holding scepters? :-D btw, the giant trolls are bishops not knights. death knights are the knights. i kinda doubt it is going to be $150. more like $100. it is elaborate, i will give you that, but is it worth $100 more than the current set? given the new parts, i am thinking there is about 500-600 more pieces, so probably $100. oh, and i guess ogel is no longer a necrophile...he now has willa the witch as queen. :-P

any change to the plate structure? did it become more brittle?

what are you talking about...there are lots of han, ben, luke and leia recently. from sail barge to x-wing, to rep cruiser, etc. luke is the most overdone char in SW ever. i don't see them being over $10, much less your $40. :-P

that is a little too life-like for me. i'm not sure if i am ready for anatomically correct lego statue just yet. someone actually modeled the crotch for you? :-P

wonder how TLC will price the BP set given that the chess set is $40. 24 for $40 (originally $50). I am guessing 5 MF for $12 max. anything more than $12 is probably overkill. would be sweet if it is 5 MF for $10. 20 for $40. woot.

drat- another ben and leia. how many are they going to give us?!? i have been waiting forever for a c-3po or yoda set. :-P cursed dark ages! and i refuse to buy the sand crawler. :-P

you can also use the tan soldiers as confederate soldiers to battle against your union soldiers should you own some western sets. ack...actually i was mistaken. confederates are grey i think. :-P

i think lego made the right decision at the right time. with so many children's fantasy books made into movies (the countless "chronicles" made into films) it does help with sales. on that note, i wouldn't be surprised if the next evil faction happens to be giant spiders and various arachnoid thingys. :-P i'll tag this post in case my prediction came true. :-P i hope they come up with taurens or other tan, dark tan, brown, larger MFs though. not quite the size of the giant trolls but larger than regular MFs. :-P and maybe more mounts. we have dragons and horses so far. let's see if we will have big dogs (aka wolves) and big cats (aka panthers). :-P maybe as a semi-joke, even a sea turtle? :-P am i the only one who thinks there's a lack of carriage? there is but a single carriage for the evil skeleton. i like to see a revival of some of the excellent carriages from the past, like
