it's smaller than the ot edition that's for sure....just look at the price tag. $60 vs $100. dont think the mfs are worth $40 to make.
-
no update yet? awww....hope you haven't given up yet since you're doing a really good job here.
-
wow...that's great. i just love screw ups. email customer service to get the right head and you get to keep the wrong head as spare. i think the plane looks good without the stickers. i won't be applying mine when i eventually get this set.

no, he has regular legs. it's not a skateboard, it's a surfboard.

i wonder if that's why there's a rumored new mini MF in 09 for $60. i always wondered why they released another MF when the UCS MF just came out in 07... but if we are going to get Mon Cal playset in 09, it would make sense to get a mini MF to fit in there. in that case, i just might buy the mini MF then. was thinking of skipping that set. huh? EB is not official lego site, nor is kimt an official lego spokeperson. i don't get why that changes anything? what confirmed the SC will be in a set?

drat...i thought vassals aren't allowed to post in the BSTF forum? ban this guy plox!!!

didn't know this part exist. a half axle/half pin technic piece doesn't quite work. can you post a pic of how this piece looks like? edit: do you mean this? only axle i can find with a stud. but that's too long.

Star Wars Lego Set Want List. HUGE
natelite replied to CloneMe's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
holy cow, that's a pretty long list. some of the sets you are asking double of are already selling for 4x their original msrp prices...like 7264 imperial inspection, or 7166 the original imperial inspection. do you even have the money to get everything? a rough estimate is something in the region of $10,000 if not more. -
yes, thanks dennimator. that was what i meant. hollisbrick - yes, i delibrately left my previous response open to interpretation by posting a single line retort. glad you saw the cow joke. TLC has deviated from the lego horse design. look at the new sharks, dragons, and cows. was trying to find the discussion topic but couldn't find anything on EB. here's an equivalent topic on CC. http://www.classic-castle.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15947

sigh.... look what i found from the same BS folder.... http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Evilnurn...dontusethis.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Evilnurn...chs/usethis.jpg i think the pics were quite aptly named, don't you? i guess that answers the earlier questions. there are more than 1 type of astromech body and the difference between the two (or 3).
-
check brickshelf first before you say i done the EXACT same thing. that wasn't his picture he posted. duh.... he merely posted a photo from BS which showed how to do it. yes, he is trying to share news...what? when there were 5-6 exact wannabes already posted it before him? i guess we should all follow his lead then. let's all start new topics of 2009 sets just because one existing topic isn't enough, shall we? the peeve is really that he has the time to meticulously tag 5 links instead of linking to the folder or of using that time to check the previous pages. chill on the kid comment. it doesn't make you sound older, dude!

ah crap. you're right. boy am i embarrassed. BL failed to update the parts again. if you look for the non-printed round bricks on BL you will find that there are actually 3 versions. empty hole version 1. and then 2 axle (X) versions. so i guess the only version that works will be the empty hole version.
-
there is no difference. just check bricklink for all R2D2 minifigs. they are the same parts except for the new head printing. legolas just used a full technic pin instead of a half technic pin. this is a full technic pin. this is a half technic pin.
-
then how do you explain the new cows?
-
well...there's your answer. did you individually scan the sets? target doesn't always list the clearance prices. discount is taken at 35% then 50% then 75% and finally 90%. if you have the guts and stomach to wait, you can score lego sets for only 10% of original rrp. i mostly scored clearance sets at 75%. also as i said, sets that they will continue to sell in 09 won't be put on clearance. only sets that they discontinued. don't think you will find any hot sets like SW on clearance... EDIT::: for the current S@H sales... be sure to check EVERY SINGLE theme page instead of relying on the "sales and deals" page. there are a few discounted sets which are not included in the S&D webpage for some reason. eg: 4958 monster dino (available in aust) on sale for A$104 but doesn't show up in the S@D page.
-
that happen on 26th dec every year. not every set though. those that they continue to sell in 2009 won't be clearanced until mid year (some time july) or boxing day next year. if you don't see any clearanced sets, then you probably missed it already.

YES, YES, YES. damnit...learn to read the previous posts. i can understand if they were 5 pages ago, can't you just read the previous 2-3 pages first before posting? you spend more time copy-paste those links than you do just reading the previous page.
-
i doubt there are many dutch named jesus aguirre...more like a latino. it has all the mark of a copycat. original mocs were posted in sept. why this jesus guy posted in mocpages in dec? most ppl post on the same day or at most 1-2 day apart. i would contact mocpages to have this guy banned.

you didn't ask. you need to ask before they take it away. kmart and tru are absolute dicks when it come to destroyed boxes. 10% is the most they take off. the reason being that they can always return the set to TLC for full refund. however there is a slight catch. they usually do provide 100% complete guarantee. so if you want to be a dick about it, you can buy the set, take the parts you want and return the box and the remaining content for a full refund. reason for refund = incomplete set. but really...all they then do is return the set to lego, so instead of sticking it to kmart or TRU you are really sticking it to TLC. p.s. do not ever refer to my post. i don't want to get in trouble.

i don't really see the point. only hasbro and lego have licensing rights to the SW series. it's not like megabloks can create a tauntaun without infringing on copyrights act. it's silly to censor SW stuff..
-
obviously not. they either repeat the same news multiple times or totally make something up. even after you linked in your response about how purple is NOT being discontinued ppl still say it is...and saying TRANS_purple is excluded because it's part of the TRANS family, so only solid purple is discontinued. i think this board might have a bunch of adhd kids!

exoforce and agents aren't licensed themes. when was the last time you saw an exoforce or agents cartoon or movie on tv or in the cinema? in case you were wondering, licensing was a recent phenomena...started with SW in 1999. the one and only runaway hit has so far been SW. it's not like they _HAVE_ to keep producing licensed themes. if the classic themes of city, castle, space, pirates, western grow to be strong hits i would guess that TLC will let all licensing expire except for maybe SW. wonder if they will renew the license in 2011. hmmm...

how sad. could have use either the hot water or hair dryer over the garbage can method.

i couldn't agree more with IS. while i admire the courage of these women in quitting jobs after 11 years, i think many have already uttered what needed to be said which is simply that not many ppl in the world has $20k lying around the house to spend on lego structures. while i know your friends have said all they needed is one single interested person to buy it, that's still a very ambitious presumption. $20k for a millionaire is still 2% of total wealth. except for philanthropic spending, i don't think many will spend 2% on something so frivolous as a hobby. on that note, for someone to bite you would need the purchase to be miniscule vs wealth, i.e. someone with more than A$20m (0.1% of wealth). there are now plenty of multimillionaires but to find a multimillionaire lego fan...i can't begin to imagine the odds. even if there is a sizable number of such ppl, most self made multimillionaires (MMs) are actually very thrifty folks like warren buffet (i know, i know, he's a multi billionaire but the comparison is more the thrift, not the wealth), who would think twice or thrice about buying a $20k lego set. so you have to further reduce those numbers to MMs who inherited the money (they are much more likely to spend large sums of money). furthermore your friends' creation is vying for the MMs' money among the other professional lego builders' creations as well as official lego sets. now i know you might say there are lots of lego hobbists who spend tons of money on lego and present their works in exhibitions and expos...well, these AFOLs generally buy cheap bricks and parts and build on their own. even if they spent $10k on lego, the $10k is all bricks...not labour and certainly not buying sets from other AFOLs. they take pride in building on their own, not in showcasing someone else's work which they bought. so yeah...your only target audience in this case are rich MMs who can't moc for shit and need to pay someone a hefty fee to build it for him/her. it should be a very small network. now if you reduce the target price drastically down to $100-200 range, you will find more wealthy folks (time strapped professionals like lawyers, accountants, but not bankers...they are broke now! ) who are willing to pay for good creations. there are quite a few good builders who sell mocs this way. however, even then they have day jobs. the other alternative is as IS said: look for a sponsor. get a company that is interested and build to their specification.
