  1. There are only 2 sets that catch my eye - the TIE Advanced Prototype and Anakin's Custom JSF. Both are quite expensive! The former will probably come with the Inquisitor. As for Anakin's JSF - I'm so happy that it's the Azure Angel, as I had hoped! It's highly probable given its blue colour scheme and what seems to be twin engine intakes. I do wish we got a clearer picture of it, though. Anyway - what version of Anakin do you think it will include? I don't think we've gotten any minifigs from the Tartakovsky miniseries before.
  2. Like I said, I think Lego would try to keep it simple. I mean, come on. That they ended Bionicle because it was too convoluted and the very fact that they are bringing it back means they've learned from their mistakes. At least, I hope they do, and stick to a more compact story. On the topic of elements, I think (and hope!) that they try to keep it as it is. I'm pretty sure there's a reason why they stuck with the six basic elements for so long (for all of Bionicle's original run sans Bara Magna, in fact) and why we don't see a new element of ninja being added to the Ninjago roster every year.
  3. I would rather they stick to the main six and only go for the more special, unique elements, like light or shadow. I think the whole concept of having so many 'side-story' elements was something that added to Bionicle's original convoluted story. I've been a fan since the get-go, but I've never really followed the books or online serials. I'm sure there are many long term fans like me who aren't as hardcore and dedicated to the overarching storyline that know little to zilch about the elements differing from the original six.
  4. Any idea which Anakin's JSF they're referring to? I do hope it's the twin-engine one seen in the Tartakovsky miniseries, we don't have one of those yet. I'm sick of seeing rehashes of Delta-7Bs and Eta-2s.
  5. Seeing this mask makes me wonder - will we see the return of the BA head (which was quite a good head, in my opinion), or will it be completely redesigned? My money is on the latter, but if we're getting a redesign, any ideas on what it will be like? How many connections will it have? Will it be completely trans like the Glatorian and BA heads were, or will we get back grey heads with trans pieces for eyes? Thoughts?
  6. Sweet, thank you so much Hulk_Smash! It's not a matter of making room - my display cabinet is about 26cm long width-wise, looks like I'll be able to fit it in! I want it so bad after seeing the movie, can't wait to get the set. Thanks once again! :)
  7. That masks looks incredible, and so unlike any mask we've seen. Bring on the rest!
  8. Sorry for necrobumping this thread, but I couldn't think of anywhere else to post this. Could I make an odd, simple request to anyone out there who owns the Milano? I'd like to know its front-to-end length (not the wingspan), from the tip of its nose to the end of the Technic/Bionicle piece used as one of its wing binders. I know the Lego website does give this information as 9 inches/25 cm, but I'm not sure how they measured it (i.e. from which point to which point they did their measurements). I'm asking this because I'm running low on space in my cupboard and I'm not sure if it will fit, should I get the Milano. Thanks in advance!
  9. I doubt the Defenders are downright antagonists. Perhaps they're antivillains just fulfilling their roles - defending/protecting the mask(s)/whatever that needs protecting/defending - then move on to become protagonists as the story progresses. Or it could be a race between the Toa and spider things to claim the mask(s), with the Defenders being the, well, defenders of each mask/the mask. On the subject of Gali's Kaukau, my favourite version of it is actually the one that appeared in Mask of Light - basically a more streamlined version of the Kaukau Nuva. A trans-blue version of that would be nice. (I'm probably in the minority here who prefer the Nuva version of the Kaukau over the Mata!)
  10. Um, no. The CCBS allows for a much larger variety of different, unique builds. It's just that Lego hasn't been using it to the system's full potential by constantly giving us humanoid builds. Saying it's exactly like the Inika build is a massive injustice. If anything, the fact that the sets were so alike one another pre-Inika was actually one of the bad things I remembered about Bionicle as a child: My parents used to comment, "they're all the same, you already have that!" As a result I hardly ever owned more than a single member of each team/line. It was frustrating.
  11. J2G, does your source have any info on whether or not the UCS Slave 1 have an interior? Not that it would make it or break it for me, but I would really love it if it did.
  12. That Slave 1 looks absolutely amazing. Looks like it's going to be my first UCS set. Time to start saving!
  13. Agreed, 2008 and 2009's vehicles were awesomely fun, so much swooshing action! I do hope vehicles return at some point. Functions can be fun, yes, but I hate it when they interfere with the set's articulation (Which happens most of the time). Also, the CCBS doesn't really accommodate for functions - Bruizer and Scarox's functions weren't integrated very well, IMO. They just looked awkward.
  14. I think the only function the Defenders have is their gatling gun thingamajig. LewiMOC, that mock-up looks good! I miss the small Matoran-sized sets, I'm glad they're coming back.
  15. I see, that's good to know. Well, I guess it's more of a courtesy to give out tickets in multiples of two so the winners can invite their plus ones, it'd be pretty sad having to go alone! Lego's themes have always been sets first, story secondary. The story exists to garner interest and to sell the sets, not the other way around. I guess this is one of the reasons Bionicle was cut, the story got too convoluted that it put people off (thus discouraging them to buy the sets), making the story's existence counterintuitive.
  16. BZP has 12 tickets to give out, while EB only has 6! OMG! Bionicle confirmed! /sarcasm On a more serious note, perhaps it's due to the fact that EB reserved some for its (many more) admins, who knows. But it's nice to see other Lego sites get invited as well, perhaps we were all mistaken and BZP just happened to announce its giveaway earlier than other sites. (FBTB doesn't seem to have gotten them, though...)
  17. If you've seen Avatar: The Last Airbender or its sequel The Legend of Korra (which I believe Aanchir has mentioned multiple times in this thread), you'll see how being able to manipulate the wind does not mean one can fly. Airbenders are similar to Toa of Air in their ability to control air, but they are unable to fly. They can glide through the air with the help of a wooden glider combined with their airbending skills, yes, but true flight (which was achieved in the latest season by a powerful airbender Zaheer) is almost unheard of in majority of airbenders. A similar comparison can be made with levitation and flight: One is not equal to the other. Levitation suggests one is floating and is not connected to the ground, not soaring through the air like flight. It is not mutually exclusive: Something in flight is considered to be levitating, but something levitating is not in flight. An example that comes to my mind is Pokemon with the ability Levitate; most if not all of them are unable to fly. Float above ground (which grants them immunity to Ground-type moves), yes, but it is not flight. Agreed. It seems BZP is the only website (for now) to be given those tickets, I'd say the chances of the reveal being Bionicle being pretty high.
  18. Agreed. For me, Breakout's winter wave was hands down HF's best wave of the entire line. It was the first (and sadly, also last) time since HF's inception that I felt it could be a worthy successor to Bionicle. Sadly, like you said, it all went downhill from there. As such, I'm really excited to see what Bionicle can bring to the CCBS.
  19. Other themes just started getting their leaked set lists. We should feel lucky with what we have. More leaked photos probably won't leak for at least a month.
  20. I'm all for a reboot. Same characters, different story. Transformers has done it a gazillion times and while it does make it confusing at times, it allows the creative team more freedom in terms of both the story and toys. While a remake would be nice (I'd love to get a new Lhikan!), it would also restrict Lego's creative team in terms of the sets they can design and the direction they can bring the story in. You guys are also forgetting that one of the reasons for Bionicle's end was the fact that its complex story made it difficult for new fans to get into it. Why would Lego continue the existing story, if that was what made them decide to end it in the first place? I've been a Bionicle fan since the beginning, but my knowledge of it is limited to what Lego gave us in the mainstream media - catalogues, online comics, movies, etc. I had no idea characters like the Great Beings existed. I'd like if the reboot/remake kept it simple, giving us new takes on existing heroes and villains. I'm not saying Lego should oversimplify the story like they did with HF (though that move did have its merits, which many of you have brought up); I'm all for a great story with deep mythology. It's just that a continuation would be quite counterintuitive in terms of limiting the ways they can move the story forward.
  21. Cut the poor guy a break, it seems every word he says is being over-scrutinised by the fanbase! I'm sure he'll drop more obvious hints if Lego allows him to.
  22. I hope it's a reboot. That way we have a chance of getting the Nuva in 2016! Heh.
  23. Forget the leaks, I want an official reveal! Seriously though, I hope the SW/SH catalogue leaks soon - it'd mean Bionicle's wouldn't be far behind!
  24. That would be nice, but I highly doubt so. I guess we hope for too much when we're excited! There's been nothing to indicate the random masks so far. I'm fine with the Gresh-like masks included, they look pretty cool.
  25. I can't agree more. That's one of the main things I miss about Bionicle. It's a pity they all share the same mask, but it looks to be a very nice looking mask, so I can deal with that! Looks like the Earth Defender even has a purple mask, we haven't seen those in a long time. Looking forward to making some MOCs with these new masks.
