Mechanisms or performance?
Zerobricks replied to CP5670's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I try to keep it simple and idiot/drive/shock proof. I can see a beauty of splitting one motor's power to 2 functions using a gearbox, but tend to see how much would I gain or loose by doing that or simply adding another motor. The less gears the better the model works in my opinion. -
Unusual LDD project
Zerobricks replied to Zerobricks's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Nah its some 1:2 scale, but its just for general shape. -
So we are getting a new table made, and I decided to draw one in LDD, because I was too lazy to download any other CAD program. The end result is quite big, there are some bugs, but generally you get the idea. What do you guys think? Download

Congratulations marcosbessa! Enjoy your new job! -
So for the challenge I decided to make a quadtrac. All track drive is powered by an XL motor through a 2 speed gearbox. When the tool arm is lifted, the tractor drives in high gear and the PTO is turned off. But when the tool arm is lowered, the gearbox shifts in low gear for max torque for tracks and PTO. The tractor is articulated and all the tracks have movable bogies. Quadtrac in early stages. Notice the gearbox. The cutter tool changes into a trailer. The tool arm double acts as a trailer hichup. Here its unlocked: When lowered it locks the trailer, so it cannot detach: On the underside you can see the two M motors for steering and tool arm raising. Video:

Receivers Limit
Zerobricks replied to dolittle's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You could extend by using another PF receiver which would controll a motor who would move another transmmiter
