8 imperial technicians, 12 stormtroopers, a bunch of various figs, and most importantly the Final Duel set. The latter is fantastic and the new Darth Vader oozes excellence!

We were talking about figures Lego may or may not produce because of there being or not being a sexual nature to them in the film. For instance the possibikity we will never get another Slave Princess Leia figure because Disney has ixnayed it.

Lego has hardly made a with the UCS up until now. I think if the Death Star turns out to be abysmal then we should all have the right to be concerned but as it stands, there isn't enough for there to even be a trend yet.

Goodness that is a bit of an extreme guttural dislike for that movie

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Forresto replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
If you're into imperials I would say yes depending on how much it is. Only downside is the officer has the old type of officer has. Lots of wedge pieces. Again price is a determining factor. -
I was fiddling about a week or so ago and decided to build a mini Imperial Class Star Destroyer and Victory Class Star Destroyer. They both feature in my exciting Shadow of Nal Eurbrikka introductory build that you can check out here if you so wish: Sacking of Clak'dor VII Back to the starships. I had a lot of difficult getting the triangular section beneath the engines without breaking the perpendicular line between both upper and bottom hulls. I decided the upper back triangle and engines were more important. If anyone had any suggestions please I would love them. I plan on also building an interdictor class and tartan patrol vessel to scale with these two. As usual all comments, critiques, and suggestions are welcome. If you wish to see more MOCS somewhat like these feel free to visit my Flickr Photostream Thanks for viewing

Shadows of Nal Eurbrikka Freebuild 01: The Sacking of Clak'dor VII Seven years have passed since the dissolution of the Old Republic. Seven arduous years that has seen the steady rise of a new galactic order. A government once welcomed wholeheartedly for it’s promise of peace and order by a war weary populace, has now driven much of the galaxy into a state of fear and oppression. Any and all initial resistance has been crushed mercilessly. While many worlds such as Fondor, Kuat, and Carida flourish under this human centric regime, Imperial xenophobia has led to countless atrocities committed against alien planets and peoples. Hotbeds of rebellion such as Kasshyyyk, New Plympto, and Alzoc 3 have been tamed and punished brutally for their transgressions. Many are disillusioned to believe in the just nature of these actions or remain silent to avoid a similar fate. However a few courageous individuals rise up. Clak’dor VII, home world of the Bith and an ancient cradle of civilization in the galaxy, is a planet famous for it’s rich culture and promotion of artistic thought. The pacifistic Bith in particular are fanatical proponents of free speech and are known for being quite vocal when these rights are suppressed. Although once supporters of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the end of the Clone Wars ushered in a radical new planetary government and a seat in the reorganized Galactic Senate. In the seventh year of the Empire Clak’dor’s primary Senator, Fereden Daggar, was a rising voice in the Imperial Senate for expressing outrage at the atrocities carried out by the Imperial Military. Using the extensive influence and respect his civilization had, and still has, on the galactic stage Senator Daggar decided to form a coalition of senators. The initial goal of the coalition was to draft a set of laws passing control of the military from Emperor Palpatine to the Senate itself. While immediately falling under the Emperor’s direct scrutiny, Senator Daggar was not seen as a major threat. A year passed and the coalition grew. Given Daggar’s well-known integrity, the Emperor offered him a deal, believing he could use the senator to his own advantage. If Daggar denounced the coalition’s plans in front of the senate during a galactic wide broadcast, Clak’dor VII would be spared the Empire’s ire. The Emperor believed Daggar’s public shift of support could do much to assuage nonconforming members, such as the Bith, to accept Imperial rule without the use of unnecessary force. Not expecting the Emperor to attack such a high profile and beloved world as his, Daggar agreed seeing the potential of being shown across the Galaxy. Palpatine personally attends the session of senate that Daggar is to address. In his speech, instead of promoting his coalition’s agenda, Daggar uses his podium to criticize every aspect of Imperial rule including the façade of the Senate. Before the feed is cut he exclaims that only a revolution and change back to a democratic government could restore the natural freedoms all sentient beings have a right to. Infuriated Palpatine has Daggar immediately imprisoned but does not have him executed. Instead Daggar is brought in shackles with the Imperial fleet sent to Clak’dor VII, and is forced to watch as each major city faces the full wrath of the Empire and it’s newly built Imperial class Star Destroyers. No dissidents escape retaliation in these dark times as his Majesty Emperor Palpatine continues to consolidate and strengthen Imperial rule over the galaxy unopposed. 12 BBY: Clakdor VII's Capital City of Lal'tlaos “Admiral Kelso, the Resurgent and Victory have broken through the interior shell dome and are in firing range of the city. What are your orders Sir?” “Excellent! Captain Piett and Captain Talzar are to commence bombardment of the city immediately. Instruct them to dispatch every available tie squadron to prevent the escape of any inhabitants fleeing by ship. We want to make it clear that dissidents will be shown no quarter. One more thing Commander Needa, inform his majesty that the Bith’s capital city will soon be nothing more then dust and ruin.” “Yes Sir!” "Loose formation Feldoon Squadron and engage all ships, no one makes it off this rock. Don't worry about evasives, these civvies aren't firing back!" “These new Star Destroyers are performing beyond our wildest expectations Admiral.” “Do not become overconfident with the success of our fleet Captain Ozzel. We are claiming victory over a pacifistic people! We have yet to see how well these new vessels Kuat Drive Yards have designed match up in actual combat. Still I doubt there is a force in the galaxy that can withstand the sheer power these titans are capable of any more then the Bith are. Isn’t that right Senator? Enjoy the show but do now worry we still have several more cities to visit.” "So much unneeded destruction...so many lives lost! The waste of it! All my fault, all mine to bear." "Calm little one we are almost free" "Hurry Dann! The Offworlders will surely learn that these ancient sewers exist and send their white armored death squads after us!" While the city above burned and the Imperials carried out the horrific onslaught many groups escaped through long forgotten tunnels. Sewers carved long before the nuclear wars that ravaged Clak'dor VII's surface many many millennia ago. Bith such as Forresto Dosai would leave their homeworld to make new lives on populated worlds such as Fondor, Lothal, or even as far into the outer rim as Tatooine. Episode List: Behind the Scenes:

I hate to fault the designer but it appears he agrees unknowingly with our jokes about the set being a collection of various sets... "It was more like designing several regular retail sets at once" Straight from his mouth. I'm not going to go hate the guy because this is a toy but also he did design the fantastic Slave I UCS so I guess he deserves a pass on making one bad set!

Just for the record the new and canon book "Lost Stars" has a lot of sex in it and the also canon book Lords of the Sith touches on the sexual exploitation of Twil'leks under Imperial rule. Essentially this continues the old EU's attitude about the enslavement of Ryloth's inhabitants. Do not read following hidden text if you care about spoilers for Lords of the Sith. Lets not forget human trafficking specifically sex trafficking is a wide spread and common issue globally. If Jabba is a crime lord on a galactic level who owns slaves, feeds slaves to giant monsters, and uses people as wall decoration I doubt very much sex slavery/trafficking is anywhere beneath him. View the scene however you choose but thats how I see it, in a much more realistic tone. Besides if there wasnt anything sexual to those scenes Disney wouldnt have pulled all of the Princess Leia Slave Bikini merchendise.
-
If this set was 200 I wouldve considered it. Seeing all of those bags and pieces makes my heart feel a certain way.
-
Oola died because she resisted Jabba pulling her close to him which is why he opened the trapdoor to the Rancor pit. Why else would she resist him pulling her closer if there wasn't more going on there? It wasn't because he was going to eat her as that sort of behavior would exist somewhere else in the new canon. The sexual undertones of it are heavily implied, the bikinis and skimpy outfits on only the women, I mean come on. On another note I recently began playing KOTOR again today (second play through) and my god does that game have some great concepts and designs. If only Disney would recanonize it (It doesn't interfere with any of the new canon material so far and it's set so far back it barely effects the PT, OT and ST). I wish we could've gotten more KOTOR minifigures or even TOR. I didn't feel the desire to but having started replaying KOTOR I actually appreciate the Revan figure more now.
-
Jabba continually made suggestive gestures and expressions at Leia. Maybe it's never explicitly said but let's not sanitize it ether. It's heavily implied throughout the old EU and the new canon of how female Twil'leks are treated.

So salty. What I do not understand is clearly people care about the proportions hence the thread so if you think such a notion is preposterous why would you even post in this thread Also expecting proper or decent proportions on a toy modeled off an actual ship (as an actual studio model) is not that ridiculous. Lego sets are still models!

And to be honest they werent that fantastic. They were okay but for me at least there was somethjng off about them.

It's 30 years in the future from OT and 50ish (I'm too lazy to check) from PT. Could be the symbol was updated like how in Star Trek the insignias have gone through a few dozen changes. Or just a similar circular logo that has nothing to do with it. The thing is the art team is probably scanning through all the old material and designs to pull stuff from the past to the present.

So apparently the new A-Wings have Republic like markings under the cockpit. Perhaps the fleet does live on... http://cdn3.spiegel.de/images/image-983622-galleryV9mobile-pres-983622.jpg

It's probably a New Republic ship. Over in the Star Wars thread in the Culture forum, we're discussing the possibility of the fleet surrounding the Hosnian system being only part of the fleet.

Just sat down with a friend this morning and saw The Wicker Man with Nicolas Cage.

It would be hillarious if Ashoka's set was an A Wing and then they make a Lego Resistance A Wing for the next movie.
-
Fantastic well you have my support for it on Ideas. I think your only roadblock potentially is would Lego want to make a set excusively of a gun? Clearly its more of a raygun then a real life one but still. Its definitely worth...a shot! *badum tssh*

To be fair "Without the Republic Fleet" could mean that with the main part destroyed and the rest dispersed throughout the galaxy there's no New Republic support coming for the Resistance any time soon. It's like the Battle of Wolf 359 from Star Trek TNG. There was a huge fleet near Earth that were the first to respond to the Borg but they were wiped out. However there were still a couple thousand ships spread throughout the Federation that weren't wiped out at the battle. With each ship on on their own doing their own missions, they're not going to be much of a force until they regroup into another fleet which could take a long time considering how spread out they are. Same could be for the New Republic fleet. Even if the New Republic only had a small peace keeping force they would still need to have at least a few thousand starships whether they be frigates, fighters, or capital ships. The Empire according to Wookiepedia had about 20,000 Imperial I- Star Destroyers and probably a similar number of Imperial II- Class Star Destroyers. This is not including the numerous other Imperial ships in service. Even if the NR under Mon Mothma only wanted a fraction of what the Imperial Navy ever had, there's still room for them to have a considerable fleet.
