  1. What I dont understand about the AT-ACT is that the original AT-AT is one the most iconic vehicle in Star Wars. Its supposed to be the peake of Imperial Military Power up there with the Star Destroyer. Its sortve like if all the Star Destroyers were replaced with a weird variant instead of the original design in the movie. The movie could be amazing but personally I find it a questionable design still. I believe there will be a good reason for it! Your next build after this one eh? (I kid)
  2. I would argue Lego has not become more violent then it ever has been. In the last five years we have seen a series around Architecture swiftly become one of the most popular themes. We are literally about to get a whole series set around a team of volcanologists. A year or two ago we had one on the Space Program. The police themed sets are arguably the most violent of the Town theme and in those the police are always shown arresting people never shooting or killing. If anything Lego's version is less violent then the real world equivalent it is representing. That's not a political statement against cops but short of being a soldier, being a police officer (especially in parts of the US) is prone to being one of the most violent professions out there. That's not even to mention the Modular Series, Mixels, Creator, Technic, Collectible Minifigures, Disney Princess, Elves, and many other themes. Star Wars is violent but not any more then it was when it first came out nearly a decade ago. Arguably we have gotten more side characters through the years that don't fight. I think Lego has maintained an equilibrium of non violence and violence. The more violent sets there are the more non violent ones they also produce. That's just my opinion.
  3. I want to start off by saying Eurobricks has become a large part of my Adult Lego experience. For a long time during my formative teenage years I lost interest in the plastic bricks all of us here love. I always intended on keeping my childhood Lego for when I had kids of my own down the road. However when I came here to these forums and saw that many many adults love Lego I began to realize that just because I myself was older didn't mean I could not enjoy building again. So I did and I continue to do so. To that end I want to thank the creators of this forum and the mods for so diligently running administrative duties and the like and especially for keeping this a high quality site for all of us. Now two things happened recently that became the reasons for why I created this thread. One I watched the Classic Star Trek Episode where Kirk and crew get beamed to the Mirror Universe Enterprise and of course there are evil versions of all our favorite characters. Two I accidentally walked into the Megablocks aisle of Target with a good friend (He doesn't collect Lego but he does like the idea of them) and saw a few kids excitedly buying Walking Dead (or other clone brand) Megablocks sets. Now needless to say Megablocks suck, big time, but they exist and they continue to exist. That means they must receive a steady amount of revenue. Not only that but because they have almost half an aisle in each Target i've been to, when they never used to have one, they must be growing as a company. Are there communities on the internet or otherwise like Eurobricks but for Megablocks instead? A EuroBlocks if you will. Are there AFoMB's (Adult Fans of Megablocks) in the world? Let's not restrain this to just MB, what of other Lego clone brands?
  4. Just don't do what I did in January and stop at Target every day after work hoping the spring wave would be out.
  5. Nice im getting some Force Awakens vibes with Rey's force premonition and Constable Zuvio. You have so many Kyuzo as well!
  6. Spot on Quentin! There was not a figure I couldn't immediately recognize!
  7. Thank you very much Being relatively new I didn't know if something had changed or not. Good to have confirmation. I don't mind how long it takes i'm just glad we have such helpful judges and people running SoNE!
  8. Quick question, are freebuilds still going to be judged or given points or are they more for us to be able to fill and create stories between episodes now? I dont mind either way just curious. Second anyone know how to get a picture into the SONE signature box.
  9. Black Friday Rush! Ahhhhhhhhh Anyways. 1) Yes! 2) I'm out of uni so very free 3) Johnson or Ivankov but really have no preference.
  10. I'm American, we practice for these line rushes every Black Friday! Bring it on
  11. Considering most of the sets seem heavily Imperial (that's certainly not a bad thing) I hope the U Wing is only Rebels and is along the lines of the FO dropship. Imagine seven figures that would be awesome!
  12. Sorry I hope I did not sound irritated. Its a trivial thing lol its just confusing this is the new ATAT but its technically the old one but its still new.
  13. Thank you! These arguably should be more primitive AT-AT's then ESB. Every website Ive read though makes it seem like these are replacing the originals.
  14. The AT-ST could have a bunch of mini figures with new molds driving up the cost. I doubt they'll put standard stormtroopers in that one (although at that cost they better.). What's the average mini figure count for a set that size? Four or five. Two pilots, another Imperial, and two rebels? That being said the tank could be a more complicated build then the AT-ST (although based on the Flash Speeder I really doubt that.) I am going to find my battle of endor instruction book and see how many pieces the last at-st was. That might be a good indicator of the new one.
  15. I love the speeder. It reminds me a lot of what would have appeared in the Star Wars Marvel comics. So these are the speeders that've been harassing us on our escape from Kuat!
  16. I would rather pay $40 for the Imperial Tank then the FO Snowspeeder. The FO Speeder only lends itself to certain situations and does not work very well as a versatile battle tank with it's lack of cover. The Imperial Tank seems fairly beefy and if it has good figures sign me up!
  17. The price certainly seems absurd but smaller doesn't mean worse. It could be better built or crammed with more details that look good. I wouldn't paying that much if the model was near flawless. They were so close with Battle of Endor and that model parts wise didn't cost $70. There's a good chance and i'm excited for the potential! Excellent I had a feeling.
  18. A $70 AT-ST? Wow! Well this better be a really high quality one along the lines of Anothergol's. My worry is that because it's more expensive it will be oversized Isn't the AT-ST shorter then the AT-DP? There's no way an AT-AT could be only $90 if the AT-ST is only $20 cheaper. That being said the Dropship we see in the trailer looks pretty darn big as well hmmm...
  19. So to back on topic why dont we recap. What do we actually know about the Rogue One sets? My one prediction is the rebel team is probably going to be spread between all the sets so if you want the whole team you better be buying the whole wave. Knowing Lego thats not even a prediction, thats an unfortunate fact.
  20. I am not a disney fan at all but I absolutely love the Nightmare Before Christmas. I had the epiphany yesterday this mini figure series could be the only way we get figures from the movie, and I certainly hope they do!
  21. This movie is going to hopefully satiate OT fans with a plethora of new stuff after years of the prequels getting so much attention. I desperately want a Director Krennig figure. Canon would suggest he works for the ISB, as being military director makes no sense. Unless he's the Military Director of Security or Intelligence. I feel that is not his full title. He seems to be personally investigating the rebel activity in person. Realistically that's not something the director of the entire Imperial Military of a galactic scale would ever do unless he's the director of some Military subdivision.
  22. Wowza! I rarely ever post on old threads drudged up from the archives but I cannot help it in this particular case. The extraordinary work put into this, I can't even begin. Brilliant, just absolutely brilliant! Well done!
  23. Wow! Very nicely done! This is a massive improvement over the previous one. With the walls you've given a much better sense of where the meeting is taking place and the brick work pieces bring a nice pop of detail!
  24. I hope if they do waist printing on the Stormtrooper the pockets match the current stormtroopers. It would be very frustrating if they gave us a stormtrooper battle pack this year but the waists don't match so we can't buy the new legs for our old stormies. I doubt it I think its more them needing a Tarkinesque character but since Peter Cushing is unfortunately no longer with us they need a new character. The question is who answers to who? Doe this guy outrank Tarkin or the other way around?
  25. Star Wars Rogue Potential Spoilers after the link.
