Yeah that's a good point. Hmmm, close though. I'll have to do some digging. Maybe there are legs from another theme such as castle or superheroes.
-
Thanks, that is an epic piece I have never seen before. I could see that certainly working. However It still leaves one leg blank, which is definitely not a bad thing but I wanna try getting both legs with printing. How about the legs from this? Bricklink

Honestly to me I think it would be a mistake for them to make the new Imperial Shuttle for only a $90 set when it seems far larger then Kylo Ren's shuttle. At the same price as Kylo's shuttle it would still be undersized but at least could be more accurate to the ship.

I was wondering if anyone could help? I'm trying to update my Rebel Commandos with dark or reddish brown legs with printing (although preferably dark brown). Honestly if you can think of any legs with printing that are good then they don't have to be brown.

That is very clever I would have never thought of that. Does it look good?

I'm convinced considering the current information we have the AT-ACT is to transport vehicles like AT-STs, which would explain the taller mid carriage. The Rogue One sets are just too exciting! Perhaps the U-Wing if it's a transport will be the most expensive set, along the lines of the FO Dropship? $90/80 is more in that range.

Honestly Bricklink is your best choice. It won't be cheap per say but it's the cheapest method to achieving your desired goal. The Rogue One wave of sets seems to promise a LOT of Imperial stuff and most of us are holding out hope for battle packs with plain stormtroopers. There's also the rebel stormtrooper battle pack that's still out which has 4 plain troopers. Get four of those for about 50 bucks and you have 12 stormies. OR you could do what I did and find a good brick link seller and pick up 12 of the Original Trilogy realistic stormies for 70.

Carbon Freezing Chamber. Really nice to finally have an updated Boba Fett finally although his cape thingy seems a little weird with the stripes. The set itself is alright, it's fun enough. Most sets I think are overpriced nowadays which I don't think is the case. Oddly enough I would've gladly payed another $10 or $20 for a larger set with more figures (Lando and maybe a stormtrooper or two.) and a more complete carbon chamber. I am not going to complain though, what we got for the price of what we got is in my opinion solid enough. Having an Ughnaut is excellent! I love Han's carbonite slab. Great set! Droid Escape Pod. All around fantastic set, the best version of the escape pod to date. C-3PO looks great! First two Jaws as well! Unfortunately my R2D2 figure came with some screwy printing so I have to figure out if Lego will send me another dome piece. It's a strange set as there is little serious action (Jawas are not merely as intimidating as Stormtroopers) but it's an awesome one at the same time. Excellent set!

This would have been a much more interesting set then yet another of Darth Maul's ships that we ended up getting a few years back. You have proven you don't need chrome silver to make this into not just a decent build but a fantastic one! Excellent work!

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Forresto replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I am building a Star Destroyer bridge, the interior, to be as accurate as I can. I already have the main platform and trenches done. I am preparing to do the windows but honestly i'm at a loss of what to do. There's so many WIP's already up I was hesitant to make one but I feel I should if I can't resolve this soon. Before I do does anyone have any ideas? Edit: Thinking about it, starting a WIP thread might be in order because without seeing the build giving advice might be difficult. Exactly like he drinks beer out of his boots and doesn't change shirts for a week. Okay maybe not that extreme but I hope they play up him being a bachelor. -
Maybe she always wears a hat in the movie? Its not even an iconic hat as well. Endor commando helm would be understandable. Must be her hat though
-
Even if it's just the ship that's not a bad deal. Unless of course it turns out that you only bought a picture of the guy playing with the set. Wow you totally lucked out!
-
That's still a level of detail we have yet to get in the SW theme besides the occasional exclusive such as arm printed Boba Fett.
-
Darth Caedus excellent points! I wonder what has made TLG think recently to include less and less figures. Here's hoping we're Alderan and TLG is the Death Star cause i'm waiting to be blown away.
-
Infinity is shutting down, so fingers crossed I would imagine with the Death Star UCS coming out later this year we will be getting at least a couple updated ANH main characters such as Princess Leia. If we ever get Dimensions Lego, I would love to see affordable updated figures in packs or levels.

If you're thinking about buying the Final Duel, and have any desire for it, I suggest you buy it especially if it goes on sale. One of the better sets in a while and lots of useful parts, at least to me.

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
Forresto replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm not a superhero fan myself. I enjoy marvel films a lot but as you can tell by my sig and avatar i'm a SW guy. That being said I don't understand why everyone is so upset by the Ghost Rider figure? If the head didn't look like a a standard mini figure head I feel there wouldn't be this crushing disappointment. I for one love his head and the fact it's all one piece. Did Lego screw up? yes most certainly by not making the flames removable. However Ghost Rider's look is going to be unique to him and there's something that makes sense about the design. If the flames were just a hair piece you could tell because it's translucent. This makes it look like the skull's actually on fire. Not only that but I think it's clever the mold has the appearance of a standard head instead of a more realistic looking skull. -
According to Wookiepedia he was on the Jedi Council until around the time of the invasion of Naboo and died around the same time. He's even show on the Clone Wars as a hologram so technically he has appeared within the current canon.
-
Ninjago is getting double molded translucent and we can't even get proper skin tones for Ezra and Sabine Imagine how big an improvement it would be if the current stormtroopers had waist and leg side printing. Considering we only get one on average per set you would think they could at least do that.
-
I think the difference is that the focus of the Marvel sets just like the movies are the characters and not just the set pieces. Kids want to buy a superhero set not because it has an awesome jet but because it has captain america and doctor strange or whatever. I don't think those sets would do as well if they didn't have a strong mini figure presence. Star Wars being more Sci-Fi they know we're in it for the vehicles and starships. Yes the figures are an important component, especially as a fan who prefers the minifigures to vehicles, but I imagine TLG thinks strong vehicles are better SW sellers. Considering the UCS Hoth debacle its easy to think Lego is certainly feeling that we as a Lego SW fanbase care more for the ships then the figures. I don't think that's the right lesson to take from it, as the figures were nothing to really write home about which was part of the problem. Regardless it's a figure heavy set which makes it a departure from standard UCS and it's the first UCS to really fail as a set.

Have LEGO products become more violent?
Forresto replied to bartneck's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Exactly! I've seen a couple comments like that one saying dissenters to the study are kids who don't know what real violence is. I don't understand their point? That lack of experience with real violence means people enjoy fake violence more? Or does fake violence make people with no experience with real violence more violent? I don't get it. I think there is this weird association people have between imaginary/cartoony violence and realistic violence and automatically connecting the two. There might be a correlation but I have not seen any study prove that their is causation. I'm 21 and I have been fortunate enough to not have been mugged. However I grew up in a neighborhood where these MS13 wannabes were always fighting rival groups of wannabe gangs. Basically both sides were teenagers my age, in fact has a couple classmates who were in one of the gangs, who were dangerous but not really organized or smart thankfully. When I was fifteen I got caught in the middle of a gang fight in broad daylight (people I guess don't care if you see them) once which was a bit horrifying. If anything the experience made me less prone to violence and I was already an adherent to non violence by then as well. The core issue with the study is that it takes one major element of Lego out. The kids, TFoLs, and AFoLs. Lego is by it's very nature just a model/kit service leaving the stories and builds up to the imaginations of us the buyer. As seen in the Brick Testament and countless MOCs, builders can make extraordinarily violent scenes using figures from sets that had no violence. I've also seen an endless stream of non violent totally innocuous MOCs as well using pieces from "violent" sets such as Star Wars or any superhero themed set. Just because a set has tons of swords and lasers and guns doesn't mean that when someone plays with it they do so in a violent manner. -
[MOC] [WIP] The Command of the AT-AT
Forresto replied to LiLmeFromDaFuture's topic in LEGO Star Wars
True, good point about the ww2 bombers I guess I never thought of the Imperials that way but it makes sense. Here's a wild theory based on what Michael said, as this might have been your own thought originally. The AT-AT is already an infantry transport so why increase the height unless what they're transporting is larger. What if the AT-ACT is carrying AT-STs? The doors open and the AT-STs hop out. I mean AT-STs have long legs so maybe they're designed with shock braces or something. Wouldn't be to far out considering they didn't have the tech to show us something like that in the eighties so it doesn't necessarily contradict what we know. -

Wow that's really interesting Lego's first patent was of a toy gun, never knew that! -
Haha sweet glad to know i'm not the only one! Welcome to EB! That's good to hear especially from someone who thought it was overpriced. How does the A-Wing hold together? I heard that there were a bunch of moving parts involved which to me always seems finicky?

I'm getting Empire Strikes Back vibes which if it's only vibes is completely awesome! I swear if they open the next movie on an ice planet I will walk out of the theatre...and come back in cause it's SW and I could never walk out no matter what. Still I heard rumors that... I sort've wish that was the name now
