Mitgardia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
kabel replied to Sirens-of-Titan's topic in Guilds of Historica
#1: Welcome to Mitgardia, we're glad so many new people have joined our guild recently! #2: You taking part in the valholl community build would be very great. I'd furthermore also invited all the other (new and old) members to participate in it, as it could show the power of Mitgardia in just one series of mocs. #3: there is a mini challenge to design a new guild contest going on #4: it's good as a new member to show that you've got your own troops, maybe a village and or tower or that kind of thing -
this is a truely exceptional piece of Lego art! I really love all the action, the temple and of course Mt.Olympus itself. The only thing that still puzzles me is, that when I hiked to the top of that mountain, I couldn't find any Greek gods at all!

Welcome Tomas, you are most welcome to this guild. One thing though, I actually like your hero better without the gnome hat @all Mitgardians: please make sure you participate in building a wall around our beloved capital. Valholl needs you!! -
Thanks for the positive feedback Soccerkid. Seems like your usually the first one to comment on my mocs, thanks for that. BTW, I finally discoverd a store selling used Lego pieces in my city. So I guess I have to go out and build some more wall sections. I'm actually having a lot of fun with this! Question to the Mods: as how many free builds does this count? 1 or 4?

oh, wow, this a really great tower, and althought the design differs from the standard wall design, it'd still say that would fit the rest of the wall perfectly well. As for the rest of the tower, it looks really sturdy and indeed very Mitgardian. I like it a lot. And also many thanks for putting Steen in there, as Royal Architect he is very pleased with how the wall is getting better and better. I just wonder how you will attach more section to this, with that base PS: make sure you also post a pic in the community build main thread, so we can keep track of all the entries!

Looking realy good, and the halb timbered beams the size of two plates look much better I think! But its really the ground that make this a nice moc such a good one.

Alright, I was asked to post the builds seperately, so here we go: section 1: "The Commander's House" section 2: "The Stairs to the Wall" section 3: "The Patched Wall (orcs on duty)" section 4: "Thw Wheelwright" all sections combined:

Well I guess we should at least pu the builds of each person into one thread, but still collect all of them here and post a summary on page one. So here's my forth entry and I'm out of light bley for good now ... section #4: the wheelwright sections 1 and 4 combined: all sections combined:

Mikey, this is a really beautiful build. Very fairy tail like, happy colors, nice techniques and a really cute interior. I love it!!

Wall section #3 Not all parts of the wall are in really good shape. Years ago some sections were breached by barbarian tribes. With the advent of the Jarl, Mitgardia had become pacified though, the broken sections were simply patched with wood. This now being the potentially most dangerous place along the wall, the city guards decided to hire some orcs striving for naturalization to hold the piece. The government promised them full citizenship, if they remain undefeated in the upcoming battles. Orcs are good fighters but rather dull. So standing on a wall waiting for something to happen is not really their thing ... sections 2 and 3 connected:

I really like the base and of course the uppermost story of your building. The photograpyh and editing too, is great as always. However, I personally think that are too many horizontal beams for this to be real "Fachwerk" house. I'd take out the middle beam of each story and thin the horizontal beams to the thickness of two plates. Other than that it's a great build!

well I guess you could make a piece with a trade delegation staying in an Inn at the Wall or something like that, or a Kaliphlin trade mission. However, this was actually intended to be our version of the Albion community build, with a little more structure though. @all: if you guys come up with a cool title that is to be won, please pm me! BTW: I'm currently working on my entries 3 and 4, 3 being almost done ... -
Gee what to say about this master creation! You so outdid yourself that I would take quite a while to mention everything that is cool about it, the architecture, the activities, the minifigs, it's all totally awesome!!!

*Steen Larsson bows down infront of the Jarl and awaits the sword that will make him a kight!* -
Very nice creation there captain! I really like the colorfull vegetation you usually put into you mocs, and the building itself is really great too. The best of all is the interior though. I think its really difficult to built really good interiors, so this is actually rather awesome. Especially the guy having passed out struck me as funny! One thing that I'd work on is color of the read roof. I think a mixture of red, dark red and orange makes more for an aged roof instead of bley. But that's only a minor detail and a matter of taste I suppose.

This is a really great build dG. I'm very fond of your style, so this is no exception. So much going on, such nice building techniques. BTW, how did you build that tower. I really wonder. I also very much like the idea of closer relations between Mitgardia and Avalonia, I guess I will pic this up as well in one of my next mocs.

Things are starting to pic up, great!! A tip for all you wallbuilders out there: With this set you actually get a lot of bricks that are very useful for castle building. Personally I've already bought half a dozen or so of these packs. Currently they sell for about 5-7 €, which is an extremely good deal!

@Evan D: looking really good. Hope you finish this soon, I'm rather excited. @all: the community build now has a small price to it. So make sure you support the protection of our capital!! -
@soccerkid: if you do have the pieces, go ahead and use them, if not all bley is cool too. I actually used the dark bley because I ran out of light bley @eccles: I'm looking forward to your creations, especially you being the one to got me inspired!! As for a title, well I'm sure there is one in. The Jarl will have to tell though. Personally I have lost track of my titles, I know I'm bad citizen ... @all Mitgardians: come on guys, the capital needs you, and this is something that you all can do. It actually doesn't consume that many bricks and that much time!!

Hey CBB, I'm glad you told me the truth and put the finger at the right spot, thank you for that!!

I have changed my mind today! To spice this a little more, I will turn this into a competition and shell out a "Gandalf Arrives" set for the winner. Due date is the first of October. We'll see where this goes from there on!!

@Lan Moon: it'd be better if you deeplinked your pictures instead of attaching them. How to do this? Well you go to brickshelf, flickr or whereever, upload your pics there, copy the adress and then put it in to the insert image box. That way you can post way more pictures!! -
Angeli, this is really great and it's rather amazing to see what is possible when using LEGO pieces as pixles. I really like it!!
