  1. So this then is your masterpiece? Well done Sir, I really like it as I really like mocs that are place on different hights. The hall itself looks very nordic, which of course fits Mitgardia perfectly well. I had to chuckle a bit about your cook, as he looked like Steen Larsson quite a bit. So my first thought was "thank you for degrading me pal" until I realized that it is a different face
  2. Actually the real thing still exists (at least in parts). It was discovered by German Archeologist some 100 years or so ago and then transfered to Berlin where you can see a reconstruction of it using some of the origignal tiles in the Pergamon Museum. And it's really impressive I have to say. When I was a student in Berlin I actually went there rather often. Said said, I thik you did a superb job with your depiction. It's instantly recocniseable and carried out rather well. I especially like how you did the yellow animal decorations on the walls. Fantastic build!
  3. fine as long as that helps us to finally crack page 100 I'm fine .. as for the color, well somehowe the basi design has still to be visible somehow, the rest is up to you
  4. Okay guys, there is only one week left for the Mitgardian Valholl Wall mini challenge. So if you haven't entered yet make sure to do so before I open the wall project to members from other guilds!
  5. and that's exactly what I hate about these lisenced themes. I mean, yes, the last castle wave was nice, but not superior. So it seems that all the innovation for new parts went into LOTR. Why does LEGO give them so much more effort than their regular lines? I'm sure an non lisenced Pirate/Castle/Western line would be doing just as well with the same amount of new looks and pieces as in the lisenced lines. However, I guess there is more money to be made with all this cheesy Disney stuff ... And what's even worse, I the toy store of my confidence they now sell mostly friends and lisenced themes with the regular lines hidden in some dark corner. Sad thing, I'm really dissapointed.
  6. so by and by and working my way through all the mocs you've put out in recent days. And what else to say, but this once again being a great creation. The tower, the market stalls, the landscaping, the photograpyh, all just totally sweet!
  7. really nice idea, it's gonna be really hard to vote for only one 5th guild!
  8. Angeli banned, what now?
  9. That's a great gate. I really love how massive it is, but still looking really good. Also a nice job on follwing your own agenda with Mpya Stedor. I'm curious, are your mocs singles, or will you at one point all put them together?
  10. nice one sc!
  11. @NM: thanks a lot man, this was really helpful, and I tried to work in some of your suggestions a way up the bank: and a temple that's currently being overhauled: PS: sorry for the pics' quality, but for WIP shots I usually don't bother the setting
  12. if've been asking the question about the total score ever since the winners of round iv were announced, so far no answer ...
  13. Eccles, I really love your Lego creatiions. But it's really hard to keep up with the comments on all of them, as you're shelling out so many of them recently. Anyway, what I really like about this one, is the mill. Mill's are really hard to do in the first place, but this one's even adopted to your style. So congratulations mate, you're being awesome!!
  14. right on, I was planning to do just the same, I just hope our MoC won't contradict each other too much
  15. no joking on my side. I really want to get rid of them! Let me count them, and then I'll tell you how many I've got maybe 50 is a little exagerated, it's a bunch non the less, I just don't want to ship them on my own expense, that's all, so first to pm me and suggest a deal that doesn't cost me a thing gets all my fleshy heads, hands and unchangeable torsos edit: 19 heads, 38 hands, 4 torsos, two arms from Indiana Jones, LOTR, PotC, PoP PS: I'm sorry for spoiling this thread, so nor more about this here!
  16. Oh man, I really like this race between my two favourite Historica builders, awesome creations!
  17. this is really good stuff! And your building reminds me of Frank Lloyd Wright's style, about whom I have just read an interesting book!
  18. its acutally going to be 56 by 48 well, the black is part of the story, furthermore granite exposed for a long time looks like kinda black too. but you're right I'll mix in more some dark bley in my efforts to make the temple look nicer
  19. @Eccles: now that you are in this building frenzy, it'd be really cool if you could add the one or the other section more to the Valholl wall!
  20. Wow, Eccles. This is really great and the gate's wooden wings are some of the most beautiful doors made in Lego I've seen so far. I also understand the critique on my gate a little better now!
  21. Thanks everybody for your feedback. I think this I going to be really helpful! @kai: which color would you suggest, dark grey? There are a few elements of it in there, maybe I could just put some more in it. @soccerkid: as you can see, the altar region of the temple hasn't been build yet, I'm still collecting ideas in my head @kibosh: where do you think it lacks texture? At the rapid? I haven't really started working there yet and I'm of course waiting for more bushes etc. to arrive
  22. the one with the smallest porto shall have my fleshies, maybe in exchange for the one or the other curios brick I'm missing
  23. If it were only for the fleshy heads I'd say, alright the heck with it, might buy it anyway. But licensed always means one third higher prices. And somehow TLG has a tendency to turn all my favourite topics (e.g. castle and pirates) into licensed ones. In other words, I'd really be angry if they did this to Western as well. And another thing that bugs me extremely is, that all the innovation goes into the licensed topics, e.g. the new horse, the bottles ... I'm very tired of this and I've simply started to refuse paying full price for new sets, which I hadn't done before. I now only buy during sales and I usually put the fleshy heads into a bin where they may never be seen again. Anyone wanne be given some 50 or so fleshy heads, hands and torsos by me?
  24. thanks for the quick answers guys! @Kayne: I've just realized myself how dumb this looks and changed it right away, thanks! @Rast: alright, I added two overall shots to the first post
  25. Eccles, you are crazy, in a really positive way of course
