  1. alright, I've been working on this for the last couple of days, and am quite pleased about how this came out. However, me not scoring a single point in the last challenge got me thinking that I'd like to have more feedback on how to make this a really great entry this time. So here are some WIP shots I took today. Constructive comments would be apreciated ...
  2. and, we also got the guild internal Wall of Valholl challenge going, a good way to start buiding with a limited amount of bricks, not sure why soccerkid forgot to mention it
  3. beautiful as always, and as DG has already said, I also like how you bring something new into every addition. This time I'm especially intrigued by the cliff and the mine. It just gives this moc a really complete feeling!!
  4. Thanks Mikel, and no, so far I havn't thought of anyone specific, I might though
  5. I'd be sad if GoH were to stop soon. I mean before this I put together a moc like every half a year or so, now it takes me only a few days to put things together, and I still have plenty of ideas, especially for our capital, so don't stop this, please
  6. Aye, I got that, I was just merely wondering
  7. I don't get this: 7) A location belonging to the original structure to add to the lore. (Ex. Within a mine, perhaps a mining gallery, or within a mystic forest an area of flowers/animals.
  8. As soon as challenge V got announced, the gears in my head started klicking, so here's a first wip shot, some criticism would be cool
  9. ah man, too bad actually I had my kids play with my wall sections and now they refuse to turn them back to me, they just totally love to play with them. So I guess I'll be making more sections, it's just eating bricks like crazy though ...
  10. @cs: yeah, there are some great mocs already, not yet enough though! Wow CBB, I would never have thought this possible. So thanks a lot, it means a good deal to me!
  11. well, I saw it and it looked pretty demanding to me. I guess the mods are still fixing some of the things. The due date, for example, seemed rather unrealistic.
  12. oh man, these challenges are not getting any easier ...
  13. besides them heads being flesh colored, it's quite a shame this is only ldd ...
  14. swamp, trees, etc, is looking really great, however, your woodwork doesn't seem to work the way it ought to. Remove the horizontal beams by vertical ones and you'll be set to go!
  15. If this was a guild already, I'd join this instand!
  16. well, thank you guys for all the positive feedback, this is more than I would have hoped for this rather small project. As for the tallness, well I guess I comes all down to the amount of bricks one has. I much rather wanted to build several modules instead of one tall one. That's why the wall isn't as high as Ecclesiates's piece of wall on his tower. It is also more simple so that people with small amounts of bricks can participate in the build. In the end, I guess you are both right. The last remaining gate in my home city is rather small, yet it is taller than wider. However, a current day truck wouldn't fit through this. As for this project, I'm now building a tower that will serve as a sentry next to the gate.
  17. Nice entry for the wall project Rast. Lot's of action going on there and I really pitty the poor delinquent, most people aren't born a villain ... I also like your use of brown tiles on top of the wall, should have thought of that too ... And yes, make sure you get the colors right as soon as possible, a good way to get green arms is the toy story soldiers, you can still get them for cheap ...
  18. wow Eccles, this looks phantastic! Actually I'm about to do something similar as I havn't torn down my Valholl citer center houses yet, which I think I will connect to the wall pieces
  19. I actually really like CBB's building. Especially all the foiliage used is awesome as always. It's very unique and has become CBB's trademark.
  20. yes Kai, you are right! The microfigs are from pirate plank as well as the lava whatsoever game (so is the orange baseplate ). And, as you can see in the second picture of my signature, I've used them as columns before. Anyways, thanks for all the positive feedback. @Z: although your idea sound very compelling, I decided to save the last bricks for my last wall section. It's going to be cool as well!! @DM: Valholl actually has two gates, the Southern one being the main one, as can be seen in Eccle's map. The Northern gate is smaller, and it also serves the road to Omurtag, therefore being used by dwarfen traffic mainly!
  21. I really don't know why you guys feel threatened by us, after all Mitgardia is allied to Avalonia. Why risk this in these days of uncertainty?
  22. This is a really nice tower Rast and I'm sure this would have made an excellent entry for our first challenge. I really like how the tower is spannig across the valley. The water effect is also pretty cool. One quick reminder though: Mitgardian guards wear medium green sleeves and flags, dark green is avalonian
  23. Thanks for the comment Rast. One little thing though, we actually decided to keep this thread for entries and comments on the general project and have the comments on buildings in a single thread so that we can still see what we are doing here That's wwhy I haven't commented on your section yet. But I see you are one post away from becoming a Vassal, so you'll be able to start your own topics then!
  24. thanks everybody for the great feedback. @DG: Ever since I started this wall project, I've gotten into this building frenzy, I'll see how long that lasts @EG: thanks, and yes, the microfigs make great columns, and in my hometown it's a rather common sight to be seen, such as this for instance: @Z and Rougang: I'll see what I can do, I'm just running really low on light bley with 5 wall sections having been build and another one under construction, but I might just give it a shot, thanks for the constructive criticism
  25. I really like everything about this moc. Techniques, photography, minifig action ... all this is just really cool. However, one thing, that I've just noticed myself, is that using this arch leads to really strange doorways, if you intersect the one or the other piece they are not curved enough anymore to be realistic
