  1. Yeah I got mixed up and forgot what dark azure looked like You're dead right, thanks By the way, I stand by my belief that hot tub emma should obviously wear a swimsuit. I might have unintentionally started that thread but I never said 'sexed up bikini' or anything.
  2. Can't feel my blind packs though - but yeah I think henceforth I'll only Toy's 'r' us minifigs. And really don't even need to do that now because they don't sell out like series 1&2, I can wait for target.
  3. Saw it advertised on shop at home when they weren't shipping yet. They are official new distinct lego colors. Showed up in Lego Digital Designer last year. Bricklink has dark and medium mixed up.
  4. TRU are some evil sonsabitches. My "rewards" certificates from buying from them barely covers the markup I paid on the stuff, and now it just goes toward negating insane markups. hoped to get the Batcave (marked up 30%!! ) then figured I could at least put it toward series 6... Guess I'm gonna have to find something or other just to not waste it.
  5. I was seeing these as like evil icy elves (think lewis' white witch) or at least fickle cruel selfish ally types. In any case it doesn't match heroica.lego.com's description or picture at all: described as a trading post and depicted as a graveyard? something like that. And lawd knows I'd love undeds. I'm watching the ninjago game closely for sales so I can get skellies and ninjas for heroica. But on Ilrion's current incarnation, I need to see higher res cause I don't know if I'm too keen on it, but at least it seems like it will have a spike in unique gameplay elements. Wish I had a full board of the Ganrash. The star wars game seems to have Tauntauns with double barrel gun arms
  6. And kickass dark (EDIT: nope. medium.) azure quarter rounds. But yeah, does have the figure. who sits in a pool in all her clothes. In fairness, there's no water. oh and righto, not the controversy topic, but: I'm offended that LEGO thinks women are too dumb to change into swimsuits when they're gonna sit in a hot tub!
  7. Okay so I've got a question that's probably also been answered somewhere in here The heavily advertised "6 new colors" is confusing me. I've picked 3 small sets and that's got me 3 of the colors. The Aqua, the Dark Azure, and one of the lavenders. Then of course I've got the Medium Azure outta Alien Conquest and Spongebob. The others: the lighter lavender I think, and definitely the spring yellowish green - are these actually in anything? Because I'm getting pinks and purples and lots of fantastic colors that are relatively new to me, or welcome additions to meager collections. colors like the ol banana pudding yellow, the bright green, the magenta and the bright yellow orange. But I definitely can't find two lavenders or a trace of SYG (lots of lime though). So are these colors really around anywhere?
  8. I was about to do about the same thing yesterday morning when I got my sets
  9. Sure, for what it's worth: Lame snake spinner add-on Kunai! Mezmo sorry that the pictures are bleachy low rez webcam stuff. all this is from the january magazine
  10. Reading through this while half asleep I accidentally jumbled it into: On the topic of the hair: I dig the way Andrea's looks on minifigs, but I think there's something off with the other girl's. And at first seeing the friends theme I thought I might be able to hold off on bellatrix, but no such luck: she still has unequalled sexy crazy hair. I think I feel like some others on the accessories, silver or some gray could have done a lot of good (How do they expect me to make yellow Spongebob use a yellow spatula?) but I'm happy to get the parts anyway. While they were using yellow, you know what they missed out on? A fried egg hair accessory. I feel exactly the same about the complexity and design of the builds being up to snuff with any other system sets. Combined with the new color parts adhering to the essential core collection of infinitely useable lego elements (one can actually make something with these colors! ), these sets really do have a lot going for them. I do wish they'd throw in some non-stereotype with the stereotype though. Like, a machine shop (the hair could already support a welding mask with those holes in the side).. some track and field deal.. a "high stamina required" hike through the forest.. Y'know, anything that everyone can admire. Thanks to your interview with brickjournal back when it was a free download, I know how you roleplayed with lego as a kid, so you can't shock me with no comics Thanks for a great review! Really enjoyed it.
  11. No, you're still confusing the Hypnobrai exclusive head with the Cobra head. I detail the variations here; I believe it is more akin to Fang Suei's head than Skale's (in basic shape). The nose, teeth, and neck are all the same, it's just the detail: a cobra hood swapped out for the diamond plating. Didn't look too too bad, but yeah, a bit. Total size is about the same as Rattlecopter teeth, same technic hole end. Past that, the length is about half handle, half blade I guess (it's a little obscured). Blade's probably a tick too wide.
  12. I'm pretty excited that we're getting some of these (seen attached to kendo zane's spinner in the january lego magazine)
  13. I'd be very very surprised if they weren't.
  14. V:Venomari (green) H:Hypnobrai (blue/grey) C:Constrictai (orange-yellow/black) F:Fangpyre (red/white) Ok, here's the situation. There are 4 tribes of snakes. Each has 4 snake types. 1. Generals all have tribe exclusive heads. 2. 2nd in commands all have a different print of the tribe exclusive head. 3. The third snake of each tribe has one of two specialized, bult not tribe exclusive, head molds: Fang Suei's (Diamondback: F&C) or Mezmo's (Cobra: V&H). 4. The fourth, least specialized snake has either Rattla's (Cobra: V&H) or Snappa's (Diamondback: C&F) headpiece on a standard minifig head part. + a fifth, standalone general with his own head Anacondrai; Pythor Total of 9 molds: Fangpyre head (F1&F2) Hypnobrai head (H1&H2) Constrictai head (C1&C2) Venomari head (V1&V2) Anacondrai head (A1) Cobra head (H3&V3) Diamondback head (C3&F3) (these share 'buck teeth', and face and neck structure with each other, and share features (plating or hood) with their respective headdress counterparts) Cobra headdress (H4&V4) Diamondback headdress (C4&F4) (these share 'hairlines' and tails with each other, and share features (plating or hood) with their respective head counterparts)
  15. I know, I just need to decide what's gonna jump so high in value after it's out of production that I can trade it for stupid glorious batman sets
  16. on the contrary, Welcome to the party! How d'ya like Treebeard?
  17. I want that so bad. I was a little dismayed when Mega Bloks got their Warcraft license, but Lego stifles them on all sides with LOTR and Heroica, and ready to ship a year earlier? That's my kind of surprise attack upstaging.
  18. Hey, watch it! that's my team!
  19. Ooh, they better not only make original Nick Fury. Not doing the Samuel L. Jackson version would be a crime. sorry I completely missed that, yeah. that was all i had to say up there. I hope you're 100% right
  20. I busted up some brand new viking axe blades (and that was my most anticipated minifig accessory ever) back in the day like so. just barely too thick.
  21. Australia the current exchange is actually about 1:1 with US. So yes, way overpriced. At least to the prices I'm used to; I'm not sure how it compares to European prices
  22. Sorry to do this, can't look through all the pages - have we found out which set is supposed to contain nick fury?
  23. Oh I love 'em. Happy new year!
  24. oh, also, of the theme accessories in general, I can't believe they haven't packed a spatula with spongebob yet. hope we can get a metallic recolor of some of the kitchen gear. I'm (loosely) sticking to 3 themes this year already got as much as I need from other 2012 themes before 2012 officially starts (2 smallest dino sets, a haul of new ninjas, forest police station, garbage truck, camper), so I think I can direct my whole year's lego budget to collectible minifigs, LOTR and Superheroes - but I'm gonna allot a little bit for straying, and friends is gonna be the first thing to tap into that. I'm a sucker for the new colors. Whatever postproduction resale price hikes may come in the future, they can't come back to bite your rear nearly as bad as the short lived and glorious previous Batman theme. ... I really thought those posts would automatically combine. Sorry for the two in a row
  25. Oh, genius! I was singling out the rose for the obvious (non-mr. freeze) intended use of this piece (Beauty and the Beast), as well as for some Stephen King Dark Tower MOCing (God, I'm a dork), but I never woulda thought of Ivy. Thanks for a great review SilentMode!
