  1. You're not mistaken, the Nebulon-B frigate is the one seen in ESB and ROTJ. The Nebulon-B2 is an EU creation. I like this MOC. IMO it could use a few more greebling on the the rear of the ship, but overall it's very cool. I love the detail of the engines and the docking bay.
  2. I realize that, it's still a cash cow that's been sitting under their noses ever since it was canceled. I know, but still it's not KOTOR 3. TOR will probably make more money overall, because after buying it you have to pay more money to play it (hence the reason I will not be getting it) however I believe that KOTOR 3 would sell better than TOR. I have no scientific evidence for that, just my gut feeling.
  3. I had a feeling when I first saw this that it wouldn't even be close. Let's be realistic, Cad Bane doesn't hold a candle to Boba Fett. IMO Fett should kill Bane somewhere around the time the CW cartoons wrap up.
  4. 5 years ago I would have said the exact same thing in regards to them not making KOTOR 3.
  5. I just read Darth Bane: Path of Destruction. Pretty good actually. Lots of references to KOTOR settings. I'm moving on to the next book. The author also wrote all of the Mass Effect novels that have been released so far.
  6. Yeah I'd like to see another Tie Fighter as well. Preferably with the wings connecting via technic axles rather than pins. Takes the wobble out.
  7. I honestly don't get all the love for the tactical droid either. It's ugly looking. Must be a CW thing I guess. I haven't seen Mace's fighter in the CW cartoon is it a Delta-7 or Delta-7B? If it's just a Delta-7 that would explain not having a droid as Obi-Wan's that was released in 2002 didn't have a droid body either. If it's a Delta-7B then maybe the Eta-2 rumors are correct. Guess we'll have to wait for pictures.
  8. The UCS set is a real winner. It's one of the few early Star Wars sets that truly doesn't look out of place when you put it next to newer sets with sleeker pieces. It's well worth the money, you won't be disappointed!
  9. Heh, it was horrible, however it's pretty amusing to see the outrageous prices it goes for on BL.
  10. As long as it has a non gray Palpatine I'll be happy (and no the ugly CW Palpy from the Venator doesn't count).
  11. That's pretty lame. I'm sure Lego would send you a new sticker sheet if you asked though. Disappointing that it's a sticker given they printed that piece in the 2003 version. But just about everything is stickers these days.
  12. Wow, would you like an apology? I'm sure it took you a whole 10 extra seconds.
  13. It's still a confidential preliminary pic, it's just cropped so you can't see the stamp.
  14. I'm guessing this is what he was trying to post:
  15. Feel free to argue semantics if you want, but it's pretty apparent that if only "some elements slipped through" as TLC claimed, the pink knights wouldn't be nearly as common as they are.
  16. In other words, Lego knew about the error, but decided to package all the pink knights anyway knowing that not everyone was going to request a replacement. Pretty cheap, IMO.
  17. Given that I've done nothing wrong, I'm personally not too concerned with the "wrath of mod." I'm more concerned with having to sift through all the POTC threads this forum will get overrun with in order to get to actual Lego pirate talk. I guarantee that while I may be in the minority, I'm not the only person who feels this way.
  18. For me personally they are not worth it, substandard plastic aside. There are some cool figs and accessories, but none that really stand out so much that I must get them. If I ever find the need to buy any, I'm sure they'll be cheap on BL. I understand why people like them, though the bar-code kind of takes some of the fun out of it. I collect baseball cards off and on, and it's always fun to buy a pack not knowing what you got until you get home. Add that to some nice figs and I can definitely see why these fly off the shelves. But it's all a personal preference matter and like I said, they're not the type of thing that appeals to me.
  19. I suppose. Doesn't help me much when I'm in a store though.
  20. Officially, they are January releases, but select stores tend to receive a shipment a week or two before Christmas.
  21. I've made this argument before as well. Unfortunately Lego doesn't list the weight of their sets on their boxes. I would guess that the amount of plastic used is what Lego uses to set their prices for the most part, with them bumping the price up a bit if the sets are very large or if there are large printed pieces. Take the Tantive IV and the Republic Cruiser. The Tantive has 500 more pieces and cost $60 USD more at retail. But a lot of those pieces are small. Put the ships side by side and they are the same size. The Tantive certainly doesn't have $60 worth of plastic more than Republic Cruiser. It's pretty interesting. I've also said before that the 10 pieces per dollar ratio has not been the historic norm for Lego sets. Look at a catalog before probably 2002 or so and extremely few sets hit that magic ratio. Now I know back in the 90s, in the US anyway, the price in the catalog included taxes and S&H. But still shipping prices were not as high back then and taxes have also risen. If you account for that, the Lego sets still don't even come close to being 10 cents per piece. The prices that we see on sets now, more closely fit the historical norm for Lego sets. It was fun for the few years while it lasted, but there's really no point in complaining about it, because we likely won't see very many sets hit that ratio again.
  22. Yeah, that was the big deal, not that it was an exclusive or anything, but that we didn't find out about it practically until it was available. That was pretty surprising and Lego did a good job at keeping the Swamp Speeder under wraps for as long as they did. It's possible they could pull the same thing with the upcoming 2011 releases, but I'm personally not going to count on it. Not expecting anything and getting surprised is always so much better than wanting a surprise and being left disappointed.
  23. Great job Bossk! I love all the details. Any chance on seeing a Moldy Crow?
  24. Why? Indiana Jones didn't go in the action themes forum. Prince of Persia didn't go in historic themes. Why would POTC go in pirates?
  25. No, there's been two. Hence the reason the pin fits in the old ones and not the new ones.
