Hey guys I'm looking to purchase about 5 or so brown muskets for my pirate collection. I'm looking to get some of the old style ones as seen in this picture: (courtesy of TheBrickster in this review). I'm not looking for the newer style muskets that look like this: Bricklink doesn't distinguish between the two and it's a pain in the megablocks sending out emails trying to find the type of musket that I want (almost everyone seems to have the 2nd version) so I'm hoping I'll catch someone's eye on here who has them. I'm fine buying from someone on here or going through bricklink as well, but I'd prefer to do business with someone in North America. Thanks for your time!

Right which means that the Y-Wing is priced ridiculously higher in Britain than it is here in the States. If it costs $50 USD here in the USA, then it should cost about £32.50. Instead the price is £60 in Britain which equates to about $92.50, or almost double the USA selling price. I know the prices of Lego sets in Europe has been complained about on here ad nauseum, however people in Britain are really getting the shaft on the Y-wing.

The only real drawback to this set was that it still used the old space "megaphone" blasters instead of the specially molded star wars blasters. I believe at the time the straight battle droid arm hadn't been created yet so that was probably why. I got 3 of these I think, but looking back I probably should have picked up a few more. Fantastic way to beef up your battle droid army very quickly. I wouldn't mind seeing another battle droid/SBD pack in the future.

Was just about to post the same. Will definitely NOT be buying.

I can't really say I understand wanting CW Obi-wan or CW Anikin as a PT figure. That really doesn't make any sense. Just buy the Jedi fighter set that's coming out. I wouldn't mind seeing an updated PT Luminara or a new PT Ki-Adi. Those seem like decent figures to make. Thankfully we got a PT Barriss before the new CW abomination that's coming out. Palpatine would be another good one just because he plays such an important role in the PT. Finally I wouldn't mind a new PT/OT Yoda. Yoda's CW version isn't nearly as ugly as regular figs, but it just really doesn't look enough like the movie version IMO. I think it's mostly because of the ears. But aside from that I have no big characters that are CW only that I think have to be made in the OT/PT style. I'm fine with Lego making some figs exclusively in the CW style and just not buying them.

They have some stuff on there that's pretty funny but yeah that website is definitely NSFW. If you're gonna check it out make sure to do it on your own computer!

REVIEW: 3300002 Holiday Set 2 of 2
Destroydacre replied to SilentMode's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Lego has been using rendered pictures on their boxes for years now. A lot of times it's very difficult to tell, it's true. I haven't seen an actual picture on a box for a long time. Thanks for the review! I haven't been following the news so the round 1x1 tiles sure were a surprise to me! I made an order over the weekend so I'm looking forward to getting this in a couple days. -
Lego Shop At home Black Friday Deal
Destroydacre replied to SkaForHire's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I think the Imperial Flagship's run is done. You could always try calling and seeing if they still have one. I tried that yesterday after it was listed as sold out online and was able to get one. Not sure if any are left now, but it couldn't hurt to try. -
I agree. On the bright side though the more potc Lego produces the more money I save. If potc really is selling so well I don't see why Lego would discontinue it. Look how long Star Wars has been around for.

I honestly couldn't care less what brand other people buy. Makes zero difference to me.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Destroydacre replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Glad to finally see a picture of the Y-Wing. I haven't looked at a picture of a studio model for awhile now, but just going by memory, the Lego version looks pretty good IMO. It's far and away the best system Y-Wing that Lego has made, I think that goes pretty much without dispute. Nice of them to throw in a Princess Leia figure as well. -
I think a lot of people would say that the UCS Falcon was unaffordable at its retail price. As for the secondary market prices now, no one should be surprised. If anyone on here was unaware of the drastic increase in prices of Star Wars sets after they are discontinued then they just weren't paying attention. I'm honestly somewhat surprised the secondary market value isn't higher.

Mine came with 2 as well.

Special pieces appear to be made in China. Things such as the Gungan heads and Captain Panaka's hat in the Star Wars line. Magnet figs and the first few collectible minifigure series were made in China as well. I'm not sure if that's still the case, someone else on here undoubtedly knows the answer. I do not believe any regular building bricks are made in China. IIRC it's been confirmed however that the plastic used in China is slightly different than that which is used in Mexico and in Europe.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

I'd argue that it was the consumers that thought it was a decent X-wing, which is what allowed TLC to sell it for so long. -
Review: 7419 Dragon Fortress
Destroydacre replied to ZO6's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Great review! Nice to see how the set comes together and to see all the great features. I know I'm not the first one to say this, but this is one of the few (maybe the only) sets to have a design that takes advantage of this weird raised baseplate. This set is hard to find and expensive as hell, but I bought one MISB last summer and I was stunned at how fabulous this set is. If you want it, but are wavering because of the price, go ahead and pick it up. You'll have zero regrets. -
I think so too, I'm just hoping the sale will match that of the Delta 7 (30% off).
-
I can't help with the stuff you mentioned, but check the postmark on the box. I believe Lego changed their color palette in 2004 so if the postmark is pre-2004, then you definitely have an old gray ISD. If it's after you could have either version, a bley one being more likely the farther after 2004 you get.

Peppermint M is correct, the witch is from the Fright Knight's castle theme. FYI instead of legs she had one of these.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Destroydacre replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The Naboo pilot fits in my set. IIRC it is a tight fit though. -
OK, when I first read this I thought this was a joke. But they really did give her a neon green popsicle. Does anyone know what that's supposed to be? I don't remember anything like that in the movie.

This set actually looks better to me after review. However keep in mind that I had such low expectations of it, that although it looks better than I imagined, I'm still not impressed with it. I'll take advantage of the TRU BOGO 50% off sale this weekend and get it for half price. There's some nice pieces in there and the figs are good (as usual). Getting this set will help in making a better Echo Base MOC. Thanks very much for the review, StoutFiles!

I get a good kick out of some of the BIN prices ebay sellers have online. This and this for example. I understand the OP's frustration with ebay now. Back from 2002-2004 I got a ton of Star Wars, vintage pirate and vintage castle sets among other things off of ebay. It was very convenient and you could get some sets for very good prices. I remember winning a misb Jango Fett's Slave I for around $30. And there were plenty of others. And if you got outbid, no worries, another auction was either up or would be running in short order. Now the majority of stuff on ebay is BIN. For retail stores or even Lego sets that are currently available from Lego that makes sense. No use running an auction for something that someone can buy somewhere else for retail. The only thing that gets me is the older Lego sets should be put up for auction but they aren't. Lego is extremely popular and even crummy sets will get bids. Putting up a King Leo's castle BIN for $500 as listed above is completely outrageous. They wouldn't get that in an auction, but they'd get more than the retail price of $90 for it for sure. That's how you're supposed to use bidding sites. Pit people against each other for hard to get items. But people don't seem to understand that; they are more interested in making a quick buck, even if it's a pipe dream. And don't even get me started on sellers that sell currently available sets for $30-$50 over retail. That's just being greedy and trying to catch an unsuspecting person. Pretty pathetic IMO, but I digress.

Nice review. I prefer the 7665, but I might pick this one up off ebay w/o the figures. Could get the ship for at least 50% off that way.

LEGO Exclusive 10221 - Super Star Destroyer
Destroydacre replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Pretty much agree with all your points. Still an impressive set though. I'll be looking to pick this up, but not at full price. Hopefully I'll be able to catch it on sale whether it be through TLC or some place else.
