Are the fans still suggesting the possibility of doing one or two series of Collectible Minifigures dedicated to Doctor Who? Or are they planning to sprinkle the doctors out across a whole series of different sets? And is there still a rumor of a full theme?

Did they do Reverend Lovejoy? I was under the impression that they do not make figures of priests from any modern-day religions, so maybe they skipped over him.- 1,195 replies

Yes, they might be afraid to do officially labeled sets, just because the name of The S****** Squad is very taboo, but I am sure they will do all of the characters and feature them in various sets. -

I definitely think you can get those from third-party creators. Don't remember exactly where. -

Right, a Stegosaurus would be the best bet, since it can reuse some molds. You could totally reuse the Triceratops legs, plus an all-one-piece Stegosaurus body/head/tail.- 1,412 replies

Jurassic World 2015 Rumors & Discussion
The Real Indiana Jones replied to adotnamedstud's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yep, wow, I just dropped $360+ on these sets, and if they come out with a Stegosaurus or a Sauropod like a Brachiosaurus, or more herbivores to fill out the environment, then I will just have to get more! It's a must-have, because eventually I will hand them down to my future-kids... Lego is the toy with longevity! =)- 1,412 replies

Looks beautiful! Always nice to see a new historical era. Also another great chance to see if Lego Ideas will be willing to do a set in that $100-$120 price range. I think that they would have gladly made the Japanese Old-Style Architecture set with the ninjas for about $120, but it was just too similar to the Ninjago temples. But this is something new, a whole new era! Great work!

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
The Real Indiana Jones replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
As investments go, it's great to make 300% in three years, but the problem is the scalability... If you can only buy a few thousand dollars worth, then your payoff is not that much. Also, if they announce that they are going to re-release a new version of the set, as they almost always do, they your whole "investment" is lost! -

Wow, I love it! The only thing I can think of is that there needs to be something up in the panels on top. In the real world, there was always some kind of inscription or imagery up there. If you still have it together, then you could put the Egyptian Hieroglyphics panels up there, making a cool Roman/Egyptian crossover, and then maybe some round medallions in the middle where the glyphs are now. I also love the golden pillar, it reminds me of Ashoka's Iron Pillar in India. Beautiful work! -

Yes, hopefully a week after they expire, they will simply reflag them from "expired" to "archived", and then invite you to be able to come and revisit all the archives on a special separate link or page. Then even if their comments sections have been locked, you can still look at images for inspiration and ideas, read the archived comments, or just take a trip down memory lane! =) -

The Real Indiana Jones replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Very true! But when you run a search, it defaults to "project state: any", so it includes "expired" projects by default. If the user clicks first to sort by "most supported", as most people would, partly because it is the first option visible by default, then the duplicate expired projects pop up to the top of the list, but they are un-votable, creating confusion. Anyway you slice it, it's just pure confusion to have duplicate projects both be visible. As a solution, perhaps they should change that label to "expired and disappearing soon", and let expired projects stay visible for a 1 week "mourning period", and then it would definitely be better to have them disappear from view and disappear from searches. Hopefully, they are planning to do that soon. It creates a bug that needs to be fixed! I remember a couple of other people predicted that up-thread... P.S. - Also, amusingly, the top suggestion under the "Recommended Projects" column on the right is my expired project, which is identical, but un-votable! -

Yes, it looks like it went from about 11,500 projects last night, down to exactly 5,606 right now... So over 51% cleared away... Is that right? Hmm, also, as some others mentioned, the expired projects are still visible in searches by default, so it creates a lot of confusion if a project has been reposted, especially if you sort by most votes, as most people will... What is their plan for fixing that? -

Thanks, Yes, they are all queued up and ready to repost! I will repost Rome on Day 1, and then continue in order, perhaps one every five days or so. "The Glory of Rome" (which was deleted by the moderators last year because it featured new molds) and "Medusa's Temple" (which is over 2 years old, so set to be archived in 3 days) both got thousands of votes, so there is obviously big support for doing the Ancient World as a playset. Plus the fact that they put the Mythology Realm into the Collectable Minifigures Online Game shows that it is an A-list idea that needs to happen at some point. Also, is there a way to make the images display at full size on the new Ideas site? My originals are all 1200 pixels across, but it shrinks them down to 660 maximum pixels across. I remember that some of the projects posted last April got to have huge screen-filling images, but now, are they limiting it to 660 max? Is there a way to contact the moderators on that? Thanks! -

The "Small Yellow" sculpture is designed to bring in people who haven't bought Lego bricks since they were kids. So all they have is their old scratched-up bricks from their childhood. And the set would probably be just $20. Definitely, I know they sell the "Architecture" sets in art museum gift shops all the time, so this one would be perfect there too. Agreed! I believe they sold some of the older Space Shuttle sets at the gift shop of the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum. -
Ah, Yes, I was right about the shield... I am guessing that this will be the new mold for all of the standard Medieval shields for knights in Castle sets, replacing the older style, with that awkward pistol style grip. This will be a lot better for posability and playability. Plus, someone got the clever idea to flip it upside-down to make it work as an Ancient Egyptian style shield... Bravo! Go Lego!! =D

The future is always hypothetical, and so it's prediction, not analysis. If you have the power to "analyze" the future, then we should all invest in your ideas! =D And yes, Pogie, I am always doing lots of other things with my life. That's why I am not worried about an approx $12,000 prize. And again, I want to see what YOU have built, and I want to see what YOU have contributed!! =D

Yep, they have definitely gotten to the point now where they have all of the molds they need to begin, and perhaps they could create a hat and caduceus for Hermes/Mercury as another CMF fig soon... And yes, it's a perfect chance to redo the new Series 12 "Battle Goddess" Athena helmet with brown hair this time!
-
Hi Pogie! Wow, it's been a while! Cool to see that you are still following my thread here so closely... And if you follow how Lego Cuusoo/Ideas works, then you know that support comes in bursts, and support always increases dramatically and geometrically as a project passes certain key thresholds. Almost every set that has passed so far took a long time to break 1,000, and then those last few thousand votes came in just a matter of days, once it gets to that level of visibility in the rankings. As perfect examples, based on what I was saying, 1) TJ Spenser's Natural History Museum is moving fast enough now because it got a huge burst of support recently, enough to make it inevitable now. Previously, it was running about the same as the Rivendell Natural History Museum project. 2) Senteosan's biggest BrickSauria project is just pulling in enough votes per day to be on track, but we are all sure it will speed up and win. And if you look, you will see that 3) Strider's Medusa's Temple is falling below minimum too, but I still think it would be wonderful to see it pass and get made as the first Greek set, and then we can get a Roman set to go with it. Plus, you are a super smart guy, so you know that essentially, once we finally get to within the last few days before the critical deadline, all of the Lego fans will take one last look at all the sets that have made good progress, and any project that have risen above 500 or 1000 will get a last-minute burst of support. Lego is obviously counting on that happening, because as I mentioned, there are only a slim handful of projects that have the current vote momentum to pass, and a lot of those would have to be rejected. So, ipso facto, they are counting on a wide-ranging last-minute burst of support for various projects, so as to give them a queue of passable ideas for the near future, or otherwise they just wouldn't have enough ideas to approve, and the Cuusoo/Ideas initiative would simply fall flat. Does that make sense? Oh, and let us know which sets on Cuusoo/Ideas are yours, and I for one will be glad to support them...

>>>>> MILESTONE <<<<< With just about 7 months left to go until the critical deadline for Lego Ideas, I have updated all my charts for all of the history and prehistory themed minifigure playsets. It looks like TJ Spencer's "Natural History Museum" (now above 7,000), and Senteosan's "Bricksauria" (now above 4,000) will both reach 10,000 on their current momentum... After that, it will be perfect if Strider's "Medusa's Temple" (over 2000 now) picks up some needed speed to become the first Ancient Greek themed playset to pass, and if my "Julius Caesar Defends the Roman Forum" set (now on the verge of 500) picks up more speed to become the first Ancient Roman themed playset, since it is now definitively the highest-ranked and the fastest-moving Roman minifigure playset on all of Lego Ideas! And as long as it gets above 500 or 1000 before the spring-time, I know that the whole Lego Fanbase will swoop in to do a last-minute burst of voting, and at that point anything that has gotten over 500 or 1000 will get a ton of last-minute consideration and last-minute votes…! We all know these sets should have happened in the '80s, so let's make them happen now!!

That's an interesting question, but I think I'm going to decide to "Let It Go" with Cuusoo/Ideas, and put all that same energy into career, investments, and love life! =)
