  1. Hmm... Or you could also stack up 1 or 2 or 3 trans-clear round studs, and then cap off each one with the colored stud or tile on top. Or alternately, have you seen this one, where he stacks up all 1x1 square trans-clear plates, so they look more and more opaque, and so it looks like ice-floes in the ocean. Imagine this but with a dark blue background like the ocean? https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/80036-mosaic-david-bowie-as-the-thin-white-duke/
  2. Thanks! Out of curiosity, what colors on the current 2022 palette do not have 1x1 ROUND PLATES (i.e. studs) made yet? For example, all of the various lighter blues? I am using tiles here, and I mentioned just above which tile colors are still missing, but I may also do one with studs too in the future... And I have a feeling that every new art set will include one or two new tile/stud colors, just to tempt us to get it! =D
  3. Ah, yes, the ones in The Globe set are basic classic Green, finally...! =D But a few round tile colors are still missing in action: - Dark Green - Sand Green - Dark Purple - Medium Lavender (Thanos's color) - Pearl Dark Gray (a.k.a. Gunmetal Gray) I tried spray-painting the greens and gunmetals a few months ago, and the sheen looks OK as a temporary place-holder. Also, (trigger warning: clone brands) a lot of these tile colors can be bought in bulk from various bootleg manufacturers... For art tiles, the quality might be adequate to just fill in the blanks for now, and then you can replace them later when the real ones are finally available... Some of the colors are a tiny bit different hue from the official Lego colors, and some have a bit of a ripple or a dimple on the surface. It also depends on how loyalist and purist you are! =D
  4. Well, here we go...? BriQ Foundation on YouTube is confirming that "coconut" is indeed Indy, and that it's based on the "Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues" video game, which covered the first four movies, including Crystal Skull. Apparently, the coconut may be a reference to a puzzle in the game where you have to collect four coconuts. I'll have to re-watch it later. Do you think it's trustworthy? If so, go ahead and watch the game play-thru and try to guess what they will do. Maybe it could be is to get more eyes on their gaming themes like Horizon? Maybe it's to get more revenue from Steam? Maybe it's to find more ideas to mine? Maybe it's a wrinkle in the licensing agreements? Maybe just for a fun switcheroo? Haha, I am 100% down for this! =D
  5. Yes, exactly, you can see two colors that are very close but distinct. They are both popular skin tones used currently for a variety of characters, especially in the Friends themes. Nougat: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?pg=2&colorPart=28&catType=P Medium Nougat: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?pg=7&colorPart=150&catType=P
  6. Hmmmm, thinking about all the recent kerfuffle over leaks and false rumors, I have been reflecting on an important deep Zen life question: Which is the most fun? A) Hearing a rumor about some sets, which might be 50/50 false, and wouldn't be available for over a year anyway, even if true. B) Seeing a few blurry snapshots of prototypes that are probably 90% real, but might never get released, and not for at least several more months. C) Seeing big clear photos of sets that are 100% real, and will definitely be hitting shelves within a few weeks, and you can officially pre-order now from the Lego site. I'm leaning towards B or C, which means that there are a bunch of fun Lego YouTuber channels I can watch. For B, BrickClicker is great. For C) either AshnFlash, MandRproductions, or Just2Good? What would you recommend?
  7. Ah, yes, I can totally see them continuing that style. Display sets aimed at adults. One for each existing movie with a quote. If you don't like the quote, remove the plaque... Problem solved! And yes, since Indy (and movie superheroes) form the core of my original collection, I also switch all my minifigs over to flesh-tones, as well as I can. I am sure we'll get a cool minifig of Pontimus, who might be a general or an aristocrat, maybe an antagonist who becomes an ally. Looking at the actor's headshot, Mark Killeen, it looks like he will be in "light nougat". Plus I can imagine we will also get some more Roman Soldiers in various caramel-colored medium-flesh-tones like "nougat" or "medium nougat", etc. That will add a bit of aesthetic variety and historical realism to the ranks. I think they also say there will be a Gladiator fight! I think Lego would jump at the chance to do that, because it 's never been done before, and there is nothing about it that would offend anyone, right?! =D
  8. Apparently, it will start with an opening scene in 1965 New York, and then some fairly quick scenes moving through 1940s Germany, and then a good chunk of the action will be in Ancient Rome, plus probably some quick visits to various other cool historical time periods globally... This makes sense, because all superhero movies nowadays involve time travel and/or a multi-verse. So Indy will be chasing a magical artifact though time and multi-verses. Should be cool! Based on all those possibilities, I have a hunch that The Lego Group will skip over doing any of the scenes with 1940s German soldiers. They would be a bit controversial in today's climate, and they are just a small part of the movie. Instead, I am sure we will get some great medium-sized scenes and minifigs of the Ancient Romans featured in the movie, and I think they might also zap quickly through Ancient Babylon, etc, for some brief scenes too, so they could do a bit of that too. And we'll naturally get at least one large location-based set about 600 to 800 pieces... So what do you think it will be? I'm hoping it's Babylonian or Mesopotamian, because that might be the biggest global civ that has never been done officially! ❤️❤️❤️
  9. Hmm, well the new Indiana Jones movie is totally real, it's mostly complete, and it comes out next year in summer, on June 30, 2023. It would be totally bizarre if we didn't get any sets for a brand new Indy movie. Plus it's confirmed on IMDB that one of the characters is named "Pontimus", so yes, it looks like they will be hijacking a German experimental time-machine to go back to Ancient Rome. Woo-hoo! Imagine the minifigures! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ And it seems totally legit that we'd be getting an opening appetizer wave this fall, with a few nostalgic sets based on the first four films... That might be "coconut", or it could be something else... We shall see! =D
  10. Hmmm, and it looks like that Elvis art set 31204 will include well over hundred new and unique "nougat" tiles. They are a bit lighter and a bit more orange-ish than "medium nougat". Can anyone else confirm this, at least just by the images? If so, then I think that will be the first time they've ever appeared in that exact color. Naturally, they made them to add a lot more subtlety to the skin tones. Plus, I think it has more of both the "medium nougat" and "dark orange" tiles too. So then that covers all of the flesh-tone colors that are currently available in the 2022 palette, since "salmon", "light salmon" and "dark nougat" plastic is not currently in active production. So I will definitely get the set, just so I can use the tiles to make a totally different portrait I am planning. I don't remember Elvis in my short lifetime, but it's definitely the ideal parts-pack set for making a portrait of anyone else you like! =D
  11. Cool, yes, and we should also mention Lego Art Remix at https://lego-art-remix.com/. Personally, I think that one it is the best, and there isn't much more you could possibly add to make it any more perfect! Also, I think your eye is correct... The Elvis Art set 31204 will include a few hundred "nougat" tiles, and I think that will be the first time they've ever appeared in that exact color. Naturally, they made them to add a lot more subtlety to the skin tones. Plus, I think it has more of both "medium nougat" and "dark orange" tiles too. So I think that's all of the flesh-tone colors that are currently available in the 2022 palette, since "salmon", "light salmon" and "dark nougat" plastic is not currently in active production. So I will get the set, just so I can use the tiles to make a totally different portrait I am planning. I don't care about Elvis, and I won't make his portrait at all, but it's definitely the ideal parts-pack set for making a portrait of anyone else you like! And ultimately, how long do we have to wait to get round tiles in "classic green", "dark green", and "dark purple"? You can buy fake ones in bulk from bootleg manufacturers, but I do not dare type their name, haha! =D
  12. Well, This is my personal dream wish list for the CMFs... Obviously they would not do them all at once, but maybe one or two per series, all within a decade...? 1) Inca King (for a lot of these, the iconic crown/helmet is the only new part you really need to make it work!) 2) Aztec Jaguar Warrior (they were hinting at this in the official bio for the Aztec Eagle Warrior from Series 7) 3) Babylonian King 4) Babylonian Queen 5) Babylonian Warrior 6) Chinese Terra-Cotta Warrior (either clay-colored, or with realistic painted-on colors, like the originals were) 7) Chinese Emperor 8) Chinese Empress 9) Tibetan Shaolin Fighting Monk (no new pieces needed. I'm surprised they haven't done it yet.) 10) A different Satyr/Faun (the same hair is OK, but with pan-pipes, purple cape, and grapes this time) 11) A different Gorgon (even just a different color is OK, maybe a cool new authentic shield print) 12) Harpy (use the existing Chima Vulture wing-armor, and the new S16 Devil tail-piece) 13) Fury (use the existing Banshee/Spectre ghost-tail, with the S14 Gargoyle wings) 14) Hades (a Classic version, or the Disney villain version) 15) Greek Philosopher (plus more civilians, including females too) 16) Roman Senator (plus more civilians, including females too) That's my top 16... Any I forgot...?
  13. Hey, thanks for the honorable mention! That's cool. Sorry I didn't have time to rework them and do new graphics. I might have repackaged it as one single $50 set, and removed a few obsolete parts, etc, etc, etc... Plus, the other main difference for anyone who is resubmitting now is that most of the previous competitors have been deleted, so it is a new field! P.S. - They also posted pics of "Wall-E" today! =D
  14. Excellent point! Lego may simply already be planning to do a Modular Museum, since it's an obvious item for them to have on their "list of buildings to do". At any rate, the Marble Maze is the biggest Cuusoo/Ideas set so far, except perhaps for the buildable Wall-E. So how big are they? How much will they be?
  15. Well, if the mold has been created, and if the image of it is not still under secrecy, then you could try doing an ideas project with it...!
  16. Ah, well they definitely have the tendency to delay results if there is even just one copyright licensing deal in the group that is taking a while. How many copyrights are in the works this time? I mean among the ones that are on the verge of being announced as passed/not-passed now?
  17. Yes, maybe BrickForge, or maybe it was BrickArms. They do almost every modern military helmet.
  18. I think that The Lego Movie is already green-lit for a full trilogy, right? And you can bet that one of the main locations in the later movies will be Classic Space world.
  19. What sets are those in? I have not seen them.
  20. Yeah, I loved the whole aesthetic of that first wave or two, with the first four elemental dragons and the Fire Temple. I got them all at that point. I am glad they are revisiting that a bit.
  21. I want one of those boats... and not just the set, I mean I want a REAL boat like that!!
  22. Wow, you have some amazing eyesight!!
  23. Do you mean Sauron? I thought that he did appear in dark spiky armor in a physical form, no? Yeah, isn't it crazy that they never did the main villain from the series in his full form? I made a purist custom fig fairly easily, though.
  24. So if a new wave of sets is coming in January 2016, then what month would the pictures be likely to appear? July or Mid-Summer probably?
  25. Yeah, but the way the last one was built was extremely unstable. The entire front 2/3 section attached by just one hinge. From a functional standpoint, and swooshability, this is probably a better design.
