Congratulations! I can't wait to see more pics. Did the Jawas get the new contract for trash collection in Lego City?

Broke down and ordered Medieval Market Village. Even though I don't collect Castle/Kingdoms, the Mill Village Raid has me interested in using these sets in the 18th century.

I just built this yesterday. I have both halves of the mouth, but they don't quite line up right. It's frustrating, but not as much as your situation, I'm sure. I wasn't too pleased with the way the eye integrated with the rest. There was a bigger gap in the front than I anticipated. And way too many stickers.

My German is a little rusty, but I think he said "This thing looks worse in person than the pictures we've seen." Ok, maybe that's not the translation, just my opinion. I just don't think the speeder looks good in Lego. It's too spread out, or something. I can't put my finger on it. The curved pieces are nice, but I'm not sure they make the set worth getting. All that being said, I'd like to see a Eurobricks review before I pass final judgement.

I wasn't quite sure about the way that light brick effect was going to work, but your photo makes it look actually pretty cool. Every time I see this farmer, it reminds me of the farmer from Men in Black. Thanks for the review, Dunjohn!

I love the Spyder Rhyder. I had to go back and look twice at the image because I thought it was a prototype photo. After looking through the gallery, it's amazing how all those unrelated pieces blend together (like the handcuffs). Great job, Rook.

Nice shot, Brickdoctor. I think the pose of Vader is good, juxtaposed with the rebel... reflects the mood as Vader steps over the flotsam in ESD! A dead rebel is just another piece of debris!

I said before that I think this is a great representation of the Chessie paint scheme. I agree that a picture of the real thing next to this Geep would help those from the US who haven't seen this scheme before appreciate what a great job you've done.

Great review, thanks. Funny to see Will Turner in there... I think that Guido is actually the most amenable to Lego of all the Cars characters. If this set was just Guido and Luigi, I might get it. Oh, what am I saying, I'll probably get it anyway. Thanks, Clone O'Patra.

487 Space Cruiser will always hold a special place in my heart. I was a kid in the 70's, and played with alot of inherited Lego from my brothers, few of which were from sets. I had several sets with the old minifigs, with no faces or arms, including the forklift, and hospital. The first set I ever got with the new minifigures was 487, and it was probably the last Lego I got before I entered my dark age. And, I have a picture taken of me holding the set after I opened it up at Christmas. It's rebuilt, mostly, and needs to be cleaned... I wish I could find the box and the instructions, but they are probably long gone. So, combine a good memory with, I guess, I turning point in my childhood (entering the dark ages?), and add the pic, and 487 will ALWAYS be my favorite.

I LOVE this set. This is the first Kingdoms/Castle/Knights set I've ever bought, and I confess I bought it for the animals. I'm going to integrate some of the civilian Kingdoms sets with some of the POTC sets into an 18th century village. I really enjoyed the mill build, and I think it looks great. I don't think the buildings looked rushed, but since this is my first Kingdoms, and I'm not used to building buildings (I build mostly Star Wars, and some Creator buildings), I'll leave that judgement to others. I also had the two extra grey pieces. Unfortunately, the three Dragoon Knights will be exiting this set, but they'll take up residence with new jobs in my daughter's bedroom fighting off any dragoons which might show up.... I'll turn them into good guys. Having built this, any doubt I had about buying the Medieval Market Village is gone.... I'm ordering at ASAP.

Mine is #3338. I ordered from the US, Eastern time zone, starting at midnight, and finally completing the order at 1240. I got the JSF, by the way, and really enjoyed the build.

The only Falcons I have are the midi and the UCS. Do those "flaps" for access to the interior really hold up to swooshing? I would think in time they would become loose anyway. Not that I swoosh.... um, my kids do.

If these were in the US, I'd probably be standing in front of them all day putting coins in like a slot machine...

I agree. Even though the shape isn't right, and there is less detail, when I look at the custom, I see Ki-adi. When I look at the new figure/mold, I see....
-
Ooops. Sorry about that! The sheer excitement of seeing the Chessie color scheme in Lego distorted my thinking...

Great job, Jaster! I've always loved the Chessie System, and hope to be able to make some like this myself, someday. Are you planning to have stickers/decals made?

REVIEW - Cars 2 - 8201-1: Classic Mater
Churchill replied to lightningtiger's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks for the review, lightningtiger. I'll be getting this because... it's Mater! But seriously, I'll get this if for no other reason than the shear joy my 3 year old will get out of us building this set together. -
Thanks for another great review, Rufus. I too love the grill. I'm not so sure about the brick built dog. I'm not really a fan of brick built animals. They just don't seem proportional, esp now that minifigs are being included in the Creator sets.

I ordered the JSF... I think... I've been waiting for this to go on sale again for a long time. Unfortunately, I couldn't wait long enough for the dropship and the Tantive, and bought them both in the past few months, so I missed out on those sales. My invoice didn't show the trooper either. I had alot of trouble with the website, I assume from volume. I'd love to stay up for the confirmatory email, but I have an early meeting, and I don't think staying up late to order Lego will be a good excuse for falling asleep!
-
Yes. I'm only trying to order the JSF. I can't stay up much longer waiting for this to work , I'm falling asleep!
-
I'm having the same problem. The website is really slow, and I accidently emptied my cart while trying to get through the process, so I'm trying again.
-
Looks like everything is active in the Eastern timezone of the US, though I'm having trouble with the website processing my order...

Thanks for doing this review Brickdoctor. It's nice to see an updated objective view of this set. I think I agree with you that for the intended audience, this set does alot of things right. And I think it deserves the rating you gave it- it's fair. As I was reading your review I too thought that they ought to update the ads. That shouldn't be too difficult a fix. Let the comments begin, but I just wanted to chime in early to say good, fair, review. Thanks! By the way, I've been wondering, and this set illustrates it. I've only been out of the dark ages for a few years. How do these rubber bands in sets like this hold up over the long run? Is there (will there be) any option to replace once they get brittle?
-
Thanks for all of these, CopMike. I wonder if some light up bricks could be used on any of the current Falcons to produce that effect?
