  1. Today was The Hobbit give away day at the Lego booth at Fan Expo Toronto. They gave away this set 30212 http://www.1000steine.com/brickset//images/30212-1.jpg I was able to get one. It was a nice surprise since you can't find this set anymore.
  2. I was at Fan Expo Toronto and today at Lego was Star Wars give away day. I was able to get the Fan Expo exclusive The Ghost Starship. https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5556/14947240186_e9cc347056.jpg And as a free give away today they gave out a minifigure pollybag of a TC-4 Set # 5002122 http://cdn.oldlego.com/images/encyclopedia/star-wars/5002122/Lego5002122-1.jpg
  3. In the book Lego Architecture: The Visual Guide http://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/1465422862/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1401769224&sr=8-1Ï€=SY200_QL40 By the way. Very nice review
  4. Lincoln memorial is going to be a box of white pieces. I'll be pleased with it if it's the same size as the White House set. Flatiron is interesting. Although to get the curve properly I feel it needs to be a larger set. Curious to see the pictures when they come out
  5. The designer of this set was Rok Zgalin Kobe He also did the Trevi fountain, UN Building, Imperial Hotel, Big Ben, Marina Bay Sands
  6. Today I got the new book. Lego architecture : The visual guide. It's well done. At first glimpse seems like just the instruction book. ( minus instructions) but with pictures and info. (History and facts) The techniques used to make the sets. And what the designers were going for with certain brick placements The pictures are very high resoulution Overall great book for $26 if you're a fan of the line Talks about all sets from Willis tower to Trevi fountain. Including marina bay sands. (Doesn't talk about how it's only exclusive to Asia. ) And no mention of any future sets.
  7. I know last year for the giveaways. It was just normal polybags. The ones you find in store. So if they keep that up. I can see it being the lake town guard polybag. I will be at Fan Expo Sunday. I will let you know what it is.
  8. Just went to the Legoland Discovery Centre in Toronto. They had about 4 or 5 Trevi Fountain sets out. I picked it up. Got it a few days early.
  9. Yea one a quarter if be happy with. I hope they don't do another exclusive like Marina Bay Sands. That would get annoying. Chrysler building would be good. I have a lot of towers on my wish list. Personally I like skyscrapers better then just buildings. One world trade centre (freedom tower) Burj al Arab Any tall one in Shanghai Cn tower. Chrysler A building id like to see though is Neuschwanstein Castle. Do it in a Robbie house size. Over 2000 pieces.
  10. In Europe and Korea, Architecture studio is being released on August 1st.... (But not coming to Canada.) But other then that and Trevi fountain in North America. I think that's it for 2014. Which is very disappointing. Also the lego architecture visual guide book comes out at the end of August http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1465422862/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/186-6857275-0174124?camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=1465422862&linkCode=as2&linkId=KVLFLXZ6TXTOOPRS&redirect=true&ref_=as_li_tl&tag=lifeoftorme-20
  11. Strict street date here in Toronto. August 1st and not budging.
  12. If you open it. I'll be intrested in a review. If you keep it closed. I understand. It's most likely what I would do. How did you manage to get one?
  13. Odd I got to it but going to Canadian site. Adding to bag. Then switching to American. And clicking on it. So I found it the web page for it. http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Sydney-Opera-House-10234?_requestid=10645212
  14. I like the the modded version better. To much tan in the set. The ground and the building same colour. I'm not a big fan of it. I like what you did. The black as being soil I assume or just a base makes the building stand out a lot more and draws your eyes to the building If you go through with it. I'd love to see pictures. And if possible a list of parts needed for this mod. As I may do it myself.
  15. This is awesome. Well done. How is this rejected. To not even get to the supports stage? legend of Zelda has multiple why allow more after the first one wasn't getting made into a set.
  16. Is this given to the last 80 people who take the tour OR is there only 80 people who do the tour.
  17. Depends where you live. North America. August 1st it comes out. Rest of the world it's out already. (Not sure about South America though)
  18. Yes very frustrating... I called. All they said to me is no release date as of yet. It's terrible how were left in the dark on these things. I don't know if I should import it. Or wait
  19. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7270/13977312864_191fa4845b.jpg This photo ?
  20. The official lego Facebook page shared it.
  21. https://www.facebook.com/LEGOArchitectureGlobal Lego architecture. Now has an official Facebook page.
  22. I have one question. Is it the one name plate. Or do we get one in Italian. Like with eiffle tower and Brandenburg gate.
  23. Wow. Very well done. Impressive. One question. The name plate. Did you print a label and stick it on. Or do you have a different method
  24. If one was going on the tour and didn't want the surprise to be ruined. They wouldn't click on the topic. I'm waiting for a photo. Curious how it will turn out the set
  25. New book on lego architecture coming out in august LEGO Architecture: The Visual Guide. This book contains 232 pages of information about all the LEGO Architecture sets and the real life buildings that inspired them. http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-fall-2014-dk-books-list/#sthash.xhVoED3r.dpuf Preorder already up on amazon for it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1465422862/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/186-6857275-0174124?camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=1465422862&linkCode=as2&linkId=KVLFLXZ6TXTOOPRS&redirect=true&ref_=as_li_tl&tag=lifeoftorme-20
